At least 6 hurt in shooting at high school in Santa Clarita, California
"Police in California are on scene of a shooting at a high school in Santa Clarita where at least six people have been injured.

The L.A. County Sheriffs’ department tweeted about the incident shortly before 11 a.m. ET. They said it happened at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, approximately 30 miles north of Los Angeles.

“Deputies on scene and still responding,” police wrote in the tweet. “Avoid the area. Further information to follow.”

The suspect has not been apprehended. Police said an Asian male wearing black clothing was “last seen at the location.”

Images from local television stations showed people on gurneys and police officers escorting lines of students with their hands above their heads."

Los Angeles (CNN)A shooting has been reported at a high school in the Southern California city of Santa Clarita, officials said, and video from the scene shows emergency workers taking several people out on gurneys.

The shooting was reported at Saugus High School on Thursday morning, some 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and law enforcement officers are looking for whoever fired the shots, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
At least five patients -- two in critical condition -- have been taken to Henry Mayo Hospital or are on their way, the hospital said on Twitter, with a hashtag referring to the school shooting. The hospital did not specify how they were injured.

People are led out of Saugus High School after reports of a shooting on Thursday.
Emergency workers took at least three people out of the school on gurneys, and large groups of people have been walking out single-file with armed escorts, aerial footage from CNN affiliates shows.
Deputies are looking for a suspect described as an Asian male in black clothing, the department indicated on Twitter.
"If you live in neighborhoods anywhere near Saugus High, PLEASE LOCK DOORS and stay inside," the department said on Twitter. "If you see suspect, male dark clothing, in backyards, etc. CALL 911"

About an hour and a half after the shooting was reported at about 8 a.m. at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, sources said the suspect was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Los Angeles County sheriff's department earlier said the suspect was an Asian male wearing black clothing who was last seen at the high school.

A female patient from the Saugus High shooting has died at Henry Mayo Newhall hospital, according to Patrick Moody, hospital spokesman. Moody said two male patients are in CRITICAL condition & one male patient is in GOOD condition at the hospital.
