Where would the company truck/trailers be parked?

Probably in a rented lot.

My guess is that smaller companies like the victims keep their trucks in rented lots. The drivers then go to the lot, retrieve the truck, then pick up the load. On some occasions, the trucking company may also need to provide the trailer as well.

He sounds to me like a seasoned criminal. I wish we knew the circumstances about the first kidnapping, or whatever crime he committed that was similar to this.

Truthfinder tells me his current job is at El Bajio Market. Has some state/fed tax liens, a ton of addresses. But surprisingly not many court cases. But that's obviously a missing piece. His DOB is 8/23/74.

Im so concerned by this. To get an ATM card and pin doesn't require kidnapping the whole family...it seems like the motivation has to be something more here...unless he is just not caring at all what happens to himself or the family? It just seems like such a big crime for ATM card. I could imagine giving my card and pin just at the threat of pointing a gun at my baby...you don't have to abduct everyone etc. Oh this is not good at all...

The location the truck was found might indicate where the family was taken. He didn't really try to hide it well, that's a pretty open area. Seems like he dumped the truck, set it on fire and had someone pick him up. What a vast area to search.
Hopefully the telematics in the truck weren't destroyed.

I doubt this is very complicated. I don't expect it to end well but I won't give up on them yet. His behavior strikes me as impulsive. He tells the cops he did something very bad and tries to kill himself. To me that shows remorse and a core level of humanity. I don't pity him nor am I defending his actions I just suspect it was an impulsive act to get money, stemmed from a road rage incident, or something like that. I suspect he was high on meth and just lost it. If so, they could still be alive tied up somewhere. But of course if they are, they need to be found soon.

The press conference will be in 12 hours and 35 minutes. (if I did my math right )

Just so unfortunate.. and so unnecessary if the motive was money. No doubt he didn't have to kill any of them....as I said. Point the gun at the baby and you get what you want. That is what is troubling me. I wish I had more hope for this beautiful family....that baby was absolutely adorable....hoping that somehow he spared at least one life. To kill the baby is just being a monster. The baby can't identify him....grrrrr!

I wouldn't say it's normal but I've seen it done before. It's always so difficult to wait.
I imagine there are times when LE wants to make sure that the loved ones are aware of the information they will be sharing in the PC rather than have family members hear it from the media.
