CA CA - 4 (previously 6) individuals missing near Idyllwild, summer 2020

Posting a follow up to the Erika Lloyd case as I cross referenced it here last week. There's limited information about human remains found in 29 Palms over the weekend. It's not far from where LE found her car:
HUMAN REMAINS FOUND EAST OF TWENTYNINE PALMS

JMO but I don't think it's too far off that this case could possibly be linked to Melissa's disappearance. Not so sure about Dia at this point...seems like an isolated incident.

Hi! Welcome! Glad to have some insight from a friend. We've discussed the previous case against her fiance a bit. It all seems a bit "off" to say the least.
Thanks! Hopefully we can solve part of the puzzle here. I wish I could help my friend Dia.

On another note, I did find out about some rather terrifying events she experienced with an immediate family member in the past and lived in fear the last four years.

Could be.

There are also several long-term missing people in the 29 Palms area...

Hello to everyone on the thread,
I'm new here and just joined the website. I’m a friend of Dia through Facebook and have had several interactions with her over the last two years. She was the sweetest, kindest lady and although we had not met in person, I considered her a friend and always thought of her as a bright, caring lady and looked up to her. I had no idea she had been missing until about two weeks ago she popped into my head and I had a strong feeling I needed to check in on her. Me being busy with summer and responsibilities, I got distracted and never followed through with reaching out to her. I happened to be reading a random Reddit post on the Missing411 group 5 days ago, and her missing poster was at the top of the headline!! I felt so awful that I hadn’t reached out to her. I’ve learned some troubling details regarding her family relationships and can’t believe the lack of inaction on her children’s part in speaking out about their mother’s disappearance. Just heartbreaking.

Regarding her alleged fiancé, this is a news story from a few years ago about someone with the same name: Local man sentenced in sexual-contact case
Hi and Welcome! Glad you're here :-) The family has been extremely quiet and that's really unusual. It seems odd to me that they were "hopeful" that she'd be found when I know I'd be frantic and probably thinking the worst.

Welcome PomMom :)
I'm glad to see a friend of Dia's here. She looks like such a lovely person. I really want her to be found safe. I don't know if that is possible because as time goes on her disappearance has become a real mystery. The search for her has turned too quiet.

I tend to think she didn't wander off. MOO, I worry there might have been foul play involved in her being missing. Some one causing fear in her life does not sound good. Perhaps she ran off to safety?

PomMom, you might want to become a Verified Insider on this thread. It would allow you to share more without it having to be linked to a news source.

I don't know how one becomes a Verified Insider. The link below may help, or you could write a mod a post here and press Report at the bottom of your post. In any case, Welcome.

Look up in the right hand corner of this page. There's an inbox and alerts. If it's red then there may be something in your box or someone replied to your post. ;)

You sound like a good friend. If I were missing under any kind of circumstances, I'd want my family and friends to keep searching and trying to figure out what happened to me. I'd want a friend to care, like you do. :)

RE: Lydia "Dia" Abrams
Yes, we can only figure out so much. You've found quite a bit of info. The thing is even if we think someone did something to her for some reason, we're limited not knowing more about her family, social circle, and personal relationships and how they tie into her life and maybe finances. Who would wish to do her harm? We've been concentrating on the possible money connection, but it might blind us to other motives or reasons she's missing. I guess there's a slim possibility she got hurt or sick, but LE had started searching fairly quickly. Where is Dia?

Just my own thoughts.
The information that I received from Dia and I’s mutual friend was that she was planning to drive to San Diego/La Jolla on June 6, the day she disappeared. She was expected in San Diego that day but never arrived. And she NEVER left her house or went anywhere without her dog, even to go check the mail he was always by her side. The dog was still at her home/ranch when she couldn’t be located. This is a big red flag to me and could possibly be a clue that she left the property against her will. Her dog was a ranch dog and appeared to be some type of heeler/herding dog. I think you can see him walking in the shots of her ranch that were shown in the video of her fiancé speaking.

Right hand top corner of this page on the side of your name is your Inbox and Alerts. Anyways, ...

That's disturbing that she had definite plans and yet some reports make it sound like she was roaming the road for no good reason without her belongings. If she was seen walking on the road, it doesn't sound like her dog was with her. ??? What kind of dog does she always take with her? So, the dog was just alone in the house?

You can share your own theories and speculations if you make sure people know it's just your opinion. Do you think Lydia met with foul play then? Stranger or someone she might know?

Thank You so much for joining here to help locate Lydia "Dia" Abrams. Your post puts new light on the situation.
I hope this important info is heard and recognized by LE.

Dia might have met with foul play. LE should not mistake this as her getting lost just taking a impulsive stroll. There needs to be, in MOO, not just an LE search, but a thorough investigation of the circumstances, as she may have been abducted and harmed. That'd make it a criminal investigation, instead of a search for a lost person.

The news keeps lumping these missing people together. Each case needs to be looked at individually. Idyllwild area residents want to know if there's a serial killer on the loose. I hope LE doesn't drop the ball.

MOO of course.

idyllwild has a history of being the PLS of multiple missing hikers, my husband used to back country hike back there all the time when we lived in california. There are a lot of places that someone could fall and their location could be obscured from being found. Also in Joshua Tree there were two hikers who were like 100ft off the trail behind a rock, they didnt find their bodies for something like 2-5+ years; people need to remember just because a place was searched doesnt always mean that the MP isn't there things can be easily overlooked. Another reason I highly recommend ANYONE hiking to get and carry a PLB for emergencies. To add to this list, David O'Sullivan was last seen in Idyllwild before he went missing while hiking the PCT, there has been none of his gear or evidence been found of his.

Acronyms stump me. I had to look up what a PLB for emergencies even is, and now I agree, a hiker should always have one with them.

The 7 Best Personal Locator Beacons for Emergencies | SoS

What is a personal locator beacon?
"You might be asking yourself this if you haven’t heard of the term before. PLBs act as your voice when no one is there to help you or hear you. Even if your smartphone network is not strong enough to receive a signal where you are going, having a PLB in your backpack makes it easy for someone to find you."

"A personal locator beacon sends out an emergency distress signal that is received by satellite and only requires a meager 5 watts of power to operate. By placing your PLB so that it has clear access to the sky with no overhanging tree branches, it can send out a powerful 406 MegaHertZ signal that is internationally recognized as a distress call."

MOO-- Get one! :) Take it with you if you go hiking.

Dia Kenshalo Abrahms

They spelled her last name wrong.

The description of her clothing is different.
That bothers me. They did spell her last name wrong. Everyplace else uses her full name Lydia "Dia" Abrams. It's nice they added her maiden name, but... errors made by officials bother me. They did describe different clothing, too. Where do they get their info?

That info about her dog is quite worrisome.

I do wonder how carefully her ranch was searched. I hope there is not a hidden crime scene there. :(

I also hope they are investigating her fiancé. Closely and deeply investigating.

The lack of additional information/silence from LE this week is driving me nuts. Knowing the area, I can see how easy it would be for someone to go missing. Hoping we hear something soon. A friend’s old roommate also went missing out of the blue from Orange County last week but an official police report has not been filed so I can’t post about it.

I would think they get their info from the local agency handling the investigation.

Here's another real estate listing for the Bonita Vista Ranch with more photos and a link to a virtual tour. The listing indicates there are 4 wells on the property so I hope those were searched.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions large wedding venues haven't been able to operate as usual. Looked like they turned to Air BNB rentals for income.

I called the phone # for the Bonita Vista Ranch Estate wedding venue and there was a voice-mail recording by a women who gave her name as Diana (no last name given).
Diana is the contact for the Air BNB rental:

Here are reviews for the properties Diana is involved with. "Dia" is mentioned in the earlier reviews. Some of the reviews are titled Garner Valley Mountain retreat, but some of the descriptions sound like the Ranch.

@SoHelpMeGod, I just want to thank you again for all the work you've done putting pieces together to help find Lydia "Dia" Abrams.

I found this beautiful video of her Bonita Vista Ranch you posted earlier in the thread a good way to imagine the property and say a prayer that she's found soon.
