If this is about locating the phone - which pinged for the last time at some destination that law enforcement knows, less than 90 minutes from Cupertino … I hope they make a public appeal to Apple and also to Facebook for help in finding this woman, with a sidebar story of the fate of the boyfriend up in Washington. They could get a ton of volunteers out, but more importantly they can collectively pinpoint where this phone is likely to be. This strikes me as a story both Apple and Facebook PR would get behind if presented benevolently.
yes it is; the case is based in Antioch and Oakley which is a bit more than 90 minutes from Cupertino

IMO they're past that point. It seems that they're in the right area and should be close to finding the phone. They found her phone case, a screen protector, and an iPhone front camera assembly.

The reporting has lacked specific details so I can't be entirely sure. LE has stated that the screen protector is for an iPhone 11 Pro Max, but I don't know if her phone case was for the iPhone 11 Pro Max, or if the camera part just found is for that exact model. But in the end, it's a minor detail; there seems to be other evidence to confirm the details (like the ex-bf's DNA being found on the case and protector).

I don't know why, but the phone being destroyed like that is somewhat alarming. I can't recall a case where individual phone parts were ripped out like this.

“A friend of Marshall’s came forward after Marshall was killed and gave a statement that Marshall called the friend about two weeks before Alexis disappeared. During that conversation, Marshall told the friend that he was thinking about killing Alexis and wanted to know where the best place to hide a body would be. The friend and Marshall decided the best place to dispose of a body would be by placing it in a septic tank or burying the body in a forest area.”

Stenger added that to this point, investigators have not been able to find anything that explains why Marshall Jones picked Pioneer, although he noted that “all the residences and businesses in that area have septic tanks.”

Noting:

[...]

Police know Jones was driving an older black Ford Explorer he had borrowed from his stepfather that night. An image of Jones in the car was captured as he drove over the Benicia-Martinez bridge on Jan. 28, Gwyn Gabe said.

[...]

“We have been asking people to focus on or about Jan. 26 to 28 for any camera footage that shows anything that seems to be suspicious or out of place,” Beard said of the continuing investigation.

The Oakley police chief said his department supports the Gabe family and volunteers helping them and will assist with additional searches this weekend in Oakley.

[...]

The Gabes have organized searches for Saturday on Neroly Road, with the parking lot at Laurel Ridge Community Church at 2459 Laurel Road serving as the meetup location. On Sunday, the group plans to search on Empire Avenue all the way to Slatten Ranch Road and the meetup will be at Diamond Hills Sports Club at 1510 Neroly Road. Volunteers are asked to register in advance for Saturday at Weekend search for the other half of Alexis' phone or Sunday at Weekend search for the other half of Alexis' phone.

The audacity someone has to not only wish death on another person, but to discuss an actual murder plan with a “friend” trying to process how he will go about it.
Furious at these men that can’t take rejection, is really what it all seems to come down to. I’ll be happy when he’s arrested.

Who, the ex-BF or the friend that the ex-BF was talking to? The ex-BF is deceased.

The friend has not been named but it was reported that he didn't know Alexis at all and thought it was a joke/hypothetical.

Alexis' parents have posted a timeline that they've received from LE. It is on the Find Alexis Gabe page. I imagine it will be in the MSM very soon.

Wow, there is a wealth of information in this article, thank you. Bringing some more of the timeline here:

[...]

9:10 p.m. Jones’ iPhone began a 1-hour, 59-minute call to his father.

9:20 p.m. Jones’ cellphone logged the last “lift to wake.” (iPhones log every time the phone lights up from sensing motion. So police believe Jones was not actually holding or using his phone for the vast majority of the phone call).

9:23 p.m. Gabe’s Infiniti turned on and began moving. Her cellphone also moved along with the Infinity’s GPS. The Infinity passed several surveillance cameras showing its movements. The Infinity made several turns down several streets before it turned onto Trenton Street, where it was parked. Historical data from the Infiniti’s GPS shows Gabe always drove a specific way to Antioch and a specific way back to her home. There were no deviations from the route until this trip, which was not the way Gabe usually drove from Antioch to Oakley.

9:35 p.m. The Infinity turned off. Seconds later, the driver exited the vehicle and walked northbound on Neroly Road. No other person exited the car. Gabe’s cellphone record showed her phone moving along with the person who exited the car.

9:39 p.m. The driver (who is now on foot) passes surveillance cameras at Oakley Road and Beldin Lane.

9:43 p.m. Gabe’s phone stopped transmitting data and was presumably turned off. Her phone records showed her phone moved along the same path as the driver until the moment it was turned off.

10:06 p.m. Surveillance video on Live Oak Road records the driver walking south.

10:37 p.m. The driver is captured on surveillance video at Slatten Ranch Shopping Center. He walked along a footpath behind the shopping center.

10:43 p.m. Video from a Chase Bank showed the driver walking across Lone Tree Way.

11:03 p.m. Video from Vista Grande Drive recorded the driver still walking.

11:09 p.m. Jones’ phone showed an in-call service application ended, indicating Jones began using the phone again. Between 9:20 p.m.-11:09 p.m., Jones’ phone showed limited activity compared with the rest of the day. “This lead us to believe he left his phone at home,” police wrote.

11:16 p.m. Jones sent Gabe an iMessage and wrote in a text, “Did you make it home?”

11:36 p.m. Jones called Gabe’s phone. No one answered.

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- The parents of Alexis Gabe have always held on to hope that one day, their daughter would come home. But based on new evidence from Antioch police, they now acknowledge that their daughter may be gone.

"(It) confirmed when we saw all those images and videos... that she is really gone," said Gwyn Gabe, Alexis' father.

Alexis, 24, who lived in Oakley, went missing on Jan. 26, after visiting her ex-boyfriend, Marshall Curtis Jones, at his home in Antioch.
