Could be the angle distorting the image, but to me it looks like a Vans sneaker (they are narrow at the heel) Like this: (if linking this pic works) View attachment 114768
Yeah i'd agree with that, my terminology of sandals and flip flops obviously is lacking lol. Those flat-soled boots that were shown above with the straps was what I had in mind but the Converse type shoes is definitely a possibility, especially with the very slight ridges that appear to be in those pics. Which leads to a few things, if they were the "booties," then they were either hers or a female peep's, possibly jealous ex of one of the guys or something. Perhaps even that other couple who was supposedly there. If they're the Converse type shoes, that would lead me more to one of the males, especially in the kind of music, wannabe-young type of world that 37 year old was living in.

or doing molly.... really though im not trying to argue with anyone. I just wish her to come home safe. what he has purported to have done is allow an adult women under 21 who was drinking at his house drive away.... that isn't in dispute here... I am worried about her having been murdered. im not sure this guy did that.

I'm not sure he did it either.
Molly, and pretty much all drugs except pot are a felony..

I showed my hubby the shoe imprint and he said female right away and agreed probably a wedge like shoe too. He doesn't think it's Vans because it's too narrow. He actually used to have some like that. I wish he still had them. ughhh.

Vans - but the pattern doesn't *quite* match IMO. But I think it's something similar to Vans. I wish we knew which direction they went from the truck - anyone know?

I think this is very close, even to the pattern left.

ETA: I should have kept reading before I posted. I also should add a disclaimer that I have old decrepit eyes. Looking at the side by side, I agree with CrimeDawg and it isn't as close of a match as I thought. (I put on eyeballs this time, so I could actually see well.)

For comparison of heel widths. Not for tread which I'm having a hard time seeing on phone.

Flip flop

Flip flop looks close I think. I'm trying to imagine the rheology of the mud. As you step in the mud expands but then as you pull your heel up depending upon the stickiness of the mud there should be some contraction. In heels/wedges I would think the majority of the weight would be in toes. In flats I'm more heel to toe. When I'm carrying sacks of feed and hay bales my heels go deeper. Also when I've been drinking my weight shifts back a bit and put more weight in my heels.

Now I need to go check my rubber boots out back. Those are easy to clean.

ETA: I have 7 different brands of men's and women's rubber boots out back and for the most part they have much heavier sole pattern.

Taking someones keys wouldn't be restraining them but it could be battery. See my post above with the legal definition of battery. JMO

I doubt a prosecutor would ever prosecute someone for battery for taking keys from a drunk driver, even a belligerent one.

Thanks, these really help put it in perspective. The media photos showed a great contrast between the width of the toes vs. the narrow heel. Your top photo of sandals seems to fit, imo. Has there been any mention by LE of what Alycia was last seen wearing?

You're probably right.

So even though I dont believe for a second Aly was driving I think we can rule out her being chased into the orchard. In the first video released after finding the truck LE stated that someone had gone back and forth as if checking to see if they could get the truck out of the mud and that there was mud in the car as well. If she were actually driving and being chased it doesnt make sense for her to do this she would have have just ran after getting stuck, it also doesnt make sense for her to use a blinker alerting those chasing her the direction she's going.

I think the blinker was force of habit which was dumb considering they were tresspassing.

Can anyone tell where the truck was facing once stuck? Was it headed towards the water?

If anyone can use some type of measuring device on the media photo we should be able to calculate the ratio of the shoe to itself. I can do it for my 3 different kinds at size 9. Length to width at ball of foot to width at heel. My husband is a tennis shoe/business casual/rubber boot guy so I don't have much to compare to there. Doubt some guy was out in his oxfords in the mud.
Will edit back in with the math:

Wedge sandal
23.5 cm long
width at ball of foot 9.1 cm
width at heel 3.5 cm

Flip flop
26.5 cm long
9.8 cm wide at top
6.7 cm at heel

Slip on sneaker type
27.8 cm long
9.4 cm wide
7.3 cm at heel

Wedge ratios:
Width at ball/length: 38.7%
Width at heel/length: 14.9%
Width heel/ball: 38.5%

Flip flop (math like above)
37%
25.3%
65.3%

Slip on sneaker
33.8%
26.3%
77.7%

Putting my tape measure on the media photo I got a 53% for heel to ball. If that photo isn't directly above there may be some forced perspective.

I got a 69.5% for the vans. Both of those just by enlarging photo on my phone. Not real accurate.
