CA CA - Angela Mae Jeff, 20, Oakland, June 24, 1979

Today I submitted Tucson Jane Doe 1979 and Angela Mae Jeff as a potential match directly to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and to the Pima County ME. The latter replied rather quickly. Here is what was sent to me:

"Thanks so much for your interest in our unidentified decedent. Unfortunately, this case does not match the missing young lady from California. There were a few discrepancies that you might have been able to see with the tattoo descriptions, but other more scientific discrepancies between the fingerprints and the DNA that you likely can't see as a public user."

(I submitted regardless of the tattoos because the ones Angela has are tiny stick-n'-pokes that may not be noticed easily: one of them is on her hand between fingers, and therefore would wear down very easily/quickly. the other tattoo was below the corner of one of her eyes, but Jane Doe's face was beaten and cut up, so there's always a chance it could've been missed.)

so:
a) Jane Doe has both DNA and fingerprints on file.

b) Angela's fingerprints and DNA are also on file, available for comparison.

c) Angela Jeff is not Tucson Jane Doe 1979.

This may not end up being shown on NamUs's exclusion lists, LE is generally pretty bad with updating those.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office got back to me today. This is what they said:

"Angela is entered into NamUS - MP71693 and her family DNA has been collected.

We have not received any DNA matches for her."

Was wondering if she could potentially be the Ventura County Jane Doe.

While there are some bits that might be a stretch, majority of it I feel fits. The age, race, height, weight, hair and eye color to start are a match. Along with this both have vaccination scars which is something I don't see mentioned with other does/missing people. Both are in California, and it's said that Angela was headed south, so it'd make sense if she somehow ended up in Los Angeles. Would genuinely love to hear thoughts. Thinking of submitting this as a match, but I'd love hearing more from everyone before.
