Sure. And yes, I believe they can. Here's an article on it but it's not the best article that I was looking for. If there's any type of oil or grease on an object (say, a tool or piece of metal) those prints can be lifted easier and can last in water longer than a regular print (which can still be lifted, based on the type of water and amount of time it has been submerged).

BK3, I've thought about this, too. I think the killer believes they're very smart and probably thought the bag idea was brilliant at the time. They never stopped to think that unless it has the right proportions, a heavy bag (presumably zipped, to keep everything inside) will move with the tides and could inevitably be opened by someone wondering what's inside. It may have been smarter to leave it partially unzipped to let marine life do its thing, let the contents scatter.

It's possible that the bag may have even had a name written on it, if it's a sports type duffel bag (especially one that may have been used for the gym or by kids in the past) or has residue of it's past owner inside of it (if it were more like a utility duffel for tools and the like). Either way, I think this "genius idea" is the one that's going to help tie the killer to this case.

I also think other parts were scattered elsewhere, maybe in similar type bags but with different weight distributions. Maybe a good storm is all that's needed to bring more evidence up to the shore line?

Scattered to throw off law enforcement or to hide evidence is the question?

Gotcha that information is correct above but don't assume the information above what was found in the bag. Re-read the press releases from the news media. DNA was the only way they found a connection to MH not any identifying marks.

What was the picture RK received? Wasn’t it a hand of some sort? Maybe he knew about the MH hand and the picture was a warning. Was there anything else in the picture that may have been in the bag?

She filed for divorce in 5/2016. There’s a change of address filed 4/2018. I’m assuming that was her (I’d have to review the actual pleading). It’s like she filed, he responded then it went kinda stale until April 2018. That’s when request for hearing was filed, change of address, at-issue filed (wanting trial date). Judgment was issued in first week of October 2018 (status only)

I have screen shots of his records, but none of his alias'- curious if this is a new development- as I do not believe it had LA MIke on records in past months so curious if anyone can back up this or if I missed the fact that LA mike has always been there.

It looks like, if this is a new(alias) development, they may be building a case...
