Looks like MQ will be having a jury trial January 2020 for his May 2019 charges. I wonder if they’ll do one jury trial for the last two charges as well.

Does that mean no jury trial?

No. He waived his right to preliminary hearing- To show there is enough evidence to go to trial. Waiving your right moves the process up to arraignment -where defendant can plead guilty or not guilty. He knows they have more than enough evidence to go forward. So there is no advantage for him to have this hearing and risks more damage to defenses' case.

My opinion is .. waiving hearing locks in charges... avoiding new charges being brought up. If the defendant is guilty of more charges and is afraid these charges can come up in preliminary hearing, also this prevents his bail from going up if evidence shows the crime to be aggravated, and preserves witness testimony... I wonder if he'd also rather not get the witness' emotional and have feeling rise to the surface and damage his trial. (Example is a witness is willing to down play crimes... at and after preliminary hearing witness is stirred up and now more willing to testify against MQ... ) again this is just an opinion.

Everyone on this thread has been so amazing in digging hard into the b3 cases, please consider helping and involving yourselves into the Kristin smart case. I’ve just learned of it even though it is all centered where I now live and it’s crazy. Definitely feels like Baylee’s disappearance- there’s an obvious prime suspect but with no body nothing is sticking to him.

I’d LOVE to be able to read all the court reporters’ records. I’m sure so many connections and people will be introduced that we never even remotely knew about. Also, I’m curious who all will take the stand.....SH has been a tiny more vocal about the case and seems to not be protecting MQ. I’m hoping she will and will spill all the secrets she has to have
