Her daughter Elisha Singh and her son Stanley Barnett are both in daily contact with their mother. Her daughter was on her way home from L.A. After caring for her grandfather for a week and stopped at her mother's house on her way home to give her a hug. Her roommate walked out and told her that her mother has not been seen since March 24th and is missing. This was the first time anybody had heard that she was missing. Alicia assumed she had not heard from her mother all week because she was taking care of her grandfather and didn’t think anything of it until she returned home and found out she hadn’t been seen since March 24th.

July 12, 2024 – Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Barbara Barnett was last seen on video in the afternoon on March 22, 2024, at the Smoke Shop 2 in the town area of Mariposa County.

Definitely some inconsistencies in the last seen info. Son says she came into town and visited him at Happy Burger where he works on March 24th. Both the son and daughter say they are in daily contact with Barbara? Daughter was out of the area for a week caring for another family member, didn't hear from her all week. Why didn't her son report her missing if he talks to her daily?

When daughter returned, she stopped by Barbara's home and was told by her roommate that she was missing since Sunday, March 24th.

The inital news story said she was last seen at her home on Monday, March 25th?

Now the police say Barbara was last seen in town at a smoke shop on Friday, March 22.

Do all the people in Barbara's life have difficulty remembering dates? Odd, since this all happened within the span of only a week.

A woman is still searching for answers after her 60-year-old mother disappeared, in Mariposa, two years ago.

Singh said she has hung fliers, posted on social media and walked through the county while continuing her search.

She also expressed frustration with the pace of the investigation.

“Do I feel like the sheriff's department just was not taking it as serious as they probably should have? Yes,” Singh said.

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office said officials are working on an update that will be shared with the public next week.

“We are working on an update for the first week of May. It will be a special live from the Sheriff. It is just going to be an update for the community since we hired a “cold case” detective who’s main purpose are the missing women,” the sheriff’s office said.​

There are some small disparities in information given to LE or provided by msm.
Barbara Lea Barnett was last seen on Monday, March 25th (by whom?)

Barbaras roommate said she was last seen March 24. (no cllothing description?)

Security footage places her walking in and out of a store in town and was taken on March 22, 2024. (clothing desciption?)

Height is both 5 5 and 5 7. Weight is both 140-150 pounds (average for a middle aged woman) and 200 pounds (would be classified as obese)

Article says she has “mental health issues”. Another said she is schizophrenic (yes, a mental illness but may present differently than say. . depression or anxiety).

Her public records background shows a number of charges likely related to her mental health struggles, Nothing in the time prior to her going missing (or after) (traffic ones aren't listed, but there were none after 2022) Tyler Odyssey Portal

I could find no listing for her under the name Vander Karr, which is listed in the body of the initial post in this thread but not found in any of the articles. The only place I could find that as her maiden name is from a FB post that said they got the information from AI (so can't be verified).

There is no listing for her in county court records for a guardianship or conservativeship, and those records are publically available online after 1999. So perhaps I'm searching using an incorrect last name. (she had dissolution records in 2007 (withdrawn) and 2013, but her maiden name was NOT listed in the county public record).
