Well, I suppose you can ask @dbdb11 how he learned about the plane when he pops back on here since TOS and all... :p MOO
That's how I interpreted the post. That he heard from RT's family but his side of the family was not aware.
I wonder why they didn't ever take the plane to visit Barbara's son. Imo

Thanks! I wonder where the source about communicating by email came from.
Hard to tell if he meant recently or they had talked on the phone in past years. Imo
I can’t seem to find the interview where @oceanstarryeyes says the son states he and his mother communicated via email, just the article @PommyMommy pointed out where the son says he spoke on the phone with his mom. Anyone find the interview? Did he use the word “email”, or did he maybe use the word “computer”?

In any case, why I was wondering is because I had a thought that could maybe-sorta-kinda reconcile the two means of communication (email, phone). If he actually said via computer, maybe it was through something like Skype, in video calls? Seems that would be ideal way for her to see him and his kids since they lived far apart and perhaps unable to visit. MOO

But, I know we’ve been under the impression she was not a tech-y person, so maybe not...(I’ve never used Skype, myself, and I’m definitely not tech-y :p )

I am not Leney, but my interp in red.... jmo, could be wrong.

When asked I will state categorically that I have not been in contact with my sister for years.
This does not mean I have not "heard" from her, or that I have not had contact with my nephews.
^^^ re Leney's family & sister^^^

I suspect the main source of contact was not with her son, but rather her grandchildren.
^^^ suspicion/theory re who in BT's fam contacted BT ^^^

Who's sister? Nephews? Her grandchildren are a boy and a girl.

There was a post back in July by @ClaireNC with information from Ancestry.com about Barbara, and it said that Matt's father died in 1983. I can't figure out how to quote that post, but you could search for it.
Thank you! Wow, that was 36 years ago! Wonder how old Matt was. Poor guy has neither parent now. (assuming BT is deceased)

this interview says 'we spoke on the phone often' Family suspects foul play in disappearance of Bullhead City woman

So he was quite y0ung when he died. :(
sadly yes. Also sadly, I believe his parents divorced when he was very young (going on the timeline posted above).

I understand. It's hard to post on this thread and stay within TOS, but I think some of these details are important, so at the risk of beating a dead horse, I'll try again, lol. :)

I agree with you that BT's side of the family was not aware of the plane. I also agree that RT's family informed @dbdb11 that RT and BT would use the plane when visiting RT's family. However, IMO, @dbdb11 did not learn about the existence of the plane from family. MOO

Oh, I think I get it now. Someone else told him.
I think.

Nope, I'm still lost  2nd and 3rd sentences seem to contradict each other

The second sentence is about how the plane was used, which dbdb11 learned from RT's family.

The third sentence is about how dbdb11 learned that the plane EXISTED, which he did not learn from RT's family, IMO.

Okay, I promise I'm done now. :eek::eek::eek:

Actually reading that post it sounds like it was RT's side of the family that the information about the plane came from, although he may not have owned it.
It seems as if his side knew but Barbaras side was not aware. Imo
BBM

Maybe RT's side didn't want Barbara's family to know ?

That's what it sounds like.
Otherwise why not take a trip to see Barbaras son?
Maybe because back then they weren't really in touch?

Hoping the VI can chime in soon. :)
Barbara's case feels like a puzzle with some pieces missing.
I wish she could be found and justice if there's been harm done.

Well, it does say according to RT's side of the family they used to visit so to me that means that the information came from them.
Otherwise it would say, according to so- and-so, RT's family said etc, etc.

I guess I'm just getting confused with all the he said she said and who said what to whom.

It's a pity that RT's niece never came back here as she would be able to confirm. The last I heard was that she was waiting to hear about becoming verified, but the thread kept being closed and that may have put her off.

a chunk of potential motive, i don't recall if it made it to the pub thread or not, but i know from my dad barb was the sole inheritor in my grandma's will.

according to my fathers estranged brother, barb inherited few million(s)? no confirmation on exact amount, but he made it sound like she was set for life after my grandma died. was the first hint i ever had that barb had substantial assets. she lived very modestly, imo.

also some potential insight into matthews mindset re barbs estate?

Do LE know of this? I suppose they must have gone through things like that. I think this fact does add a new complexion to the case. I never thought this was a random disappearance or abduction. Always seemed planned, to me anyhow.
