What kind of corners are there in the middle of the dessert?
I would assume ones that are on the other side of rocks, hills, bushes or shrubs, but I have never been to a desert so that's just an assumption. Imo

This came from our VI, dbdb11. Google "Barbara Thomas" "caves" and the only thing related to this case that comes up is Websleuths. :) I remember that because it bothered me that RT didn't mention caves in either interview nor has it been reported by MSM. MOO

July 20th - The search for Barbara Thomas, age 69, is continuing in the area of Kelbaker/ Hidden ... from SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department : Nixle

Check halfway down: ‘certified in cave searches’—I’d assume there’s a reason for that being mentioned and being the case.

So worried about this lady because she is close to my age and have been thinking of all things that could honestly go wrong. A twisted ankle from misstep that caused fall into one of those crevices and it’s even easy to fracture a hip with a small misstep which could lead to fall -head injury etc. Maybe she went behind a rock to relieve herself and got bitten by something that caused allergic reaction. Dizziness from standing up suddenly and disorientation. Poor hearing and not hearing someone walk up behind her. Maybe she did get to camper and caught someone breaking into it? I drove by myself last summer from east coast to SF and didn’t get scared until those long stretches thru desert areas and when I tried to stop at rest areas I was too afraid to get out of my car because of scary looking ,(to me because I was alone), people hanging out there. It was like a pack of wolves was just waiting for an elderly lady to rob etc. At night it was so dark I felt like I was driving thru a tunnel and got very disoriented and I can’t imagine being outside alone in that desert at night. It is very suspect and strange and please let her be safe somewhere and not suffering. (MOO)

It sounds like they have been together for at least 15 years, since his nephew said he visited with them around that time.
It does seem strange that he did not contact her son right away.

From what I understand, her husband is estranged from his brother, yet the brother gets along with Barbara and she was getting ready to travel to see him as he is very ill.
I wonder if they argued about that or if that was a source of tension between them. Imo

BBM. The VI said that LE contacted her son first when they found his number in her phone. I think it might be as simple as the police took BT and RT's phones upon their arrival on scene and were questioning him for several hours. He may not have gotten a chance to call the son before that. Or he might have told police he needed to call her son as they took away the phone and perhaps police told him then to let them handle it. It also might depend on RT's personality and how he deals with crisis situations. Some people prefer to wait out an emergency for a bit before calling everyone they know. My parents do this waiting thing in a crisis--they call 911 but will wait hours to call me because they are hoping for a good outcome before they have to call and worry anyone (it drives me insane but that's their style). Others would be on the phone calling every contact on their list (or posting on social media) the minute they hung up with 911. Since the VI said they are not into social media much and prefer leaving phones and technology behind when they vacation, I'm guessing they would be more likely to be "wait a bit to contact" type of folks for an emergency. MOO.

No, it's not RT's brother who she was going to see - it is her brother. Barbara has two brothers and the brothers are estranged. MOO
Thanks! I wasn't sure but it sounded like she was going alone? Or was her husband going with her?

Thanks!
I'm confused about the time because I thought the VI stated that the husband told him he searched himself for awhile and then called for help at 12:00. Imo
Yep, dbdb11 shared a text he received from his sister. Basically, what she remembered about the conversation between RT and her father was that RT said it was getting hot and close to noon so he called 911. However, we have the dispatch log that shows the 911 call at 3:26 p.m. Also, db's sister said she doesn't have the sharpest memory. No offense intended at all - I have to imagine they were all in shock at the news. MOO

This was posted without comment. If we are connecting the dots, do we ascertain that Barb was the 25-35 year old lady mentioned in the affidavit?

i do not suspect barb is the person. just for reference, ppl from inside herbalife have been in fear for their safety because of what they know. not a new concept

I cannot even imagine the reason why Barb's husband did not reach out to her son, but it took the police to do so after finding the phone number. That is beyond strange unless he had no relationship with the young man or if he felt guilty for some reason. Then in either case I'd understand.

I hope she is actually in Hong Kong visiting her ailing brother. And there was just some disagreement with RT and she took off without him.

Yes, I can understand wanting to wait before worrying someone.
I can also understand him believing she was abducted and hoping she is returned rather than assuming she is no longer alive. Imo

Since this is a low frequented area, dogs would find her trail right away and in no time imo.

The woman being kidnapped in this desolated area because she was in her bikini, I just don't think so.

I don't think she ever was in said place.

I keep wondering why her husband is telling she had a beer in her hand regardless of the circumstances of her disappearance, in a way it makes him credible since he seems to be telling what he recalls and has no relevance whatsoever to the public.

That would be the best case scenario but I would think LE would have found evidence of that by now. Imo

I believe it was just her. dbdb11 said "she" was visting them next week and they were booking "her" accomodations for "her" visit. (Paraphrasing) MOO

So why the huge 3 hour discrepancy??

I don't know. LE says they were hiking at 2:30 p.m. The 911 call was made at 3:26 p.m. The only one we have saying "noon" is dbdb11's sister who is either repeating what RT told her Dad or misremembered the time. No way to know which it is, really. MOO

Oh, ok, well maybe he had said they went for the walk around noon.

Still, it seems late to take a 2 mile walk in a bikini, if it's that hot by then.
Where I live we have an excessive heat warning but that's because the humidity is around 90 %. I can't imagine even walking a mile.

But I guess in that area it is dry so even when it's a hundred degrees it's not that bad? I would think just being exposed to the sun, though, would be dangerous, especially at that age. Imo

From the first MSM article/post by havasunews & nixle stating "20 miles from I-40", everyone copying/pasting, thank you TatianaBarbie post #73 for making this a non-issue...7.2 miles from I-40 I'll accept. Thank You Curiousobserver post #154 for Hidden Hills AREA, also Artsy1 post #686 for the dispatch call log to Hidden Hills.

Keep in mind the overall length of the "Dually" pick up truck coupled to 5th wheel trailer of 31 to 35 feet on 2 axle frame with MANEUVERABILITY. Note the 2 screenshots: 1 on East side of Kelbaker Rd. at Hidden Hills Rd. & 1 on West side of Kelbaker Rd. on a sharp bend in road. Too risky to take dirt road any distance off Kelbaker Rd. I find NO ROCK FORMATIONS on the east side of Kelbaker along with being twice the distance to the base of hills compared to the west side of Kelbaker having incredible R.F.s and well within a 2 mile round trip walk. My first choice of a parking spot is on the west side of the Rd. but conflicts with "cross the Hwy", so H.H. Rd. has to be the location if RT isn't lying about anything.
