I would assume ones that are on the other side of rocks, hills, bushes or shrubs, but I have never been to a desert so that's just an assumption. ImoWhat kind of corners are there in the middle of the dessert?

This came from our VI, dbdb11. Google "Barbara Thomas" "caves" and the only thing related to this case that comes up is Websleuths.I remember that because it bothered me that RT didn't mention caves in either interview nor has it been reported by MSM. MOO
It sounds like they have been together for at least 15 years, since his nephew said he visited with them around that time.
It does seem strange that he did not contact her son right away.
From what I understand, her husband is estranged from his brother, yet the brother gets along with Barbara and she was getting ready to travel to see him as he is very ill.
I wonder if they argued about that or if that was a source of tension between them. Imo
Thanks! I wasn't sure but it sounded like she was going alone? Or was her husband going with her?No, it's not RT's brother who she was going to see - it is her brother. Barbara has two brothers and the brothers are estranged. MOO
Yep, dbdb11 shared a text he received from his sister. Basically, what she remembered about the conversation between RT and her father was that RT said it was getting hot and close to noon so he called 911. However, we have the dispatch log that shows the 911 call at 3:26 p.m. Also, db's sister said she doesn't have the sharpest memory. No offense intended at all - I have to imagine they were all in shock at the news. MOOThanks!
I'm confused about the time because I thought the VI stated that the husband told him he searched himself for awhile and then called for help at 12:00. Imo
This was posted without comment. If we are connecting the dots, do we ascertain that Barb was the 25-35 year old lady mentioned in the affidavit?
Yes, I can understand wanting to wait before worrying someone.BBM. The VI said that LE contacted her son first when they found his number in her phone. I think it might be as simple as the police took BT and RT's phones upon their arrival on scene and were questioning him for several hours. He may not have gotten a chance to call the son before that. Or he might have told police he needed to call her son as they took away the phone and perhaps police told him then to let them handle it. It also might depend on RT's personality and how he deals with crisis situations. Some people prefer to wait out an emergency for a bit before calling everyone they know. My parents do this waiting thing in a crisis--they call 911 but wait hours to call me hoping for a good outcome before they have to call and worry anyone (it drives me insane but that's their style). Others would be on the phone calling every contact on their list (or posting on social media) the minute they hung up with 911. Since the VI said they are not into social media much and prefer leaving phones and technology behind when they vacation, I'm guessing they would be more likely to be "wait a bit to contact" type of folks for an emergency. MOO.
Absolutely. My point was just that it hasn't been reported in MSM that RT went to a cave to look for Barbara. That came from our VI. MOOJuly 20th - The search for Barbara Thomas, age 69, is continuing in the area of Kelbaker/ Hidden ... from SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department : Nixle
Check halfway down: ‘certified in cave searches’—I’d assume there’s a reason for that being mentioned and being the case.
That would be the best case scenario but I would think LE would have found evidence of that by now. ImoI hope she is actually in Hong Kong visiting her ailing brother. And there was just some disagreement with RT and she took off without him.
I believe it was just her. dbdb11 said "she" was visting them next week and they were booking "her" accomodations for "her" visit. (Paraphrasing) MOOThanks! I wasn't sure but it sounded like she was going alone? Or was her husband going with her?

Yah, I agree now, odd emphasis on beer and bikini. Seems like he's chumming the water.
I don't know. LE says they were hiking at 2:30 p.m. The 911 call was made at 3:26 p.m. The only one we have saying "noon" is dbdb11's sister who is either repeating what RT told her Dad or misremembered the time. No way to know which it is, really. MOOSo why the huge 3 hour discrepancy??
Oh, ok, well maybe he had said they went for the walk around noon.Yep, dbdb11 shared a text he received from his sister.
