Hi, All! I am new to Websleuths. I must say this is an amazing group of caring minds coming together to help others! I recently discovered this site & have been following since the first thread & decided to join. Extending my heart and prayers to this family! It is amazing how much you can care about someone that you have never met! This beautiful woman is someone’s wife, mother, grandmother, aunt & friend! Just looking at her I can’t help but think of my own grandmother, who was just as adventurous as BT! They also share the same facial features. Also, my mother’s name is Barbara. So maybe this is a lot of the reason why I just can’t get Barbara Thomas out of my mind. I am heartbroken & praying for her safe return. I choose to BELIEVE that there is always HOPE! My husband and I travel a lot and camp/hike with our kids. Barbara has already influenced future trips that I will take with my family. We will take more precautions than we already do & we will encourage others to do the same every chance we get. Whatever the outcome, even though I have never met her, I will NEVER forget BARBARA THOMAS!

I do have one question.... Since RT failed his first poly claiming lack of sleep.... would he be able to RE-take the poly?

Welcome, TruthSeekers!

I have no idea if the police would be interested in re-administering the polygraph. I doubt that they would. After all, it’s an interrogation tool. It’s not going to be introduced in court—so, no need to have it perfectly done. (My speculation on what LE’s attitude might be.)

Now, he could hire a private polygraph expert and have it done on his own. Again, not much reason to do that, since the results wouldn’t impress the police.

All this MOO (my opinion only.)

Thanks. At least someone else saw the same thing as me. It is flat, or at least the photos of the areas taken were flat. I admit, I don't know much about that area, just from here and photos others have posted. It just seems so straight forward, you know?

But look at the photographs of searchers in the Daily Mail article linked recently. Huge jumbled rock piles towering high above the searchers, with many crevices that a small person could slip into.

Sure. If a small person was there and was climbing rocks. MOO

RT told BT's brother that it was 5-10 minutes. See BBM in dbdb11's post below:

However, he told BT's brother that he kept going back to the spot and overturning rocks. See BBM in dbdb11's post above.
THANK YOU!!!!!

That's what I wanted to know. So 5-10 minutes behind Barbara. So she turns a corner, but it is an easy walk back to the camper, as in, there are no lefts or rights she has to take to get back to it, so she wouldn't get lost.

Now, here's the tricky part- when did he see her turn the corner? While he was taking the photos, or was he, too, walking and she was within his sight, until she turned a corner? I don't expect anyone to have an answer to that, as none of us were there. Just something going through my mind.....

Also, he told our VI that it was around noon time, yet RT told LE it was 2:30 pm, right?

Husband of Woman Who Vanished During Mojave Desert Hike: 'I Just Want Her Back'
They were on their way back to the camper when Bob said his wife started pulling ahead. He told her he wanted to take a picture of a rock formation and as he put his camera away, he saw her rounding a corner.

Kind of late now.
Why is it too late to get a lawyer?
Many people don't get lawyers until they are charged with a crime and he has not even been named a suspect.

RT told BT's brother that he called police at noon which we know to be incorrect since we have the dispatch log that shows 3:26. LE says they were hiking at 2:30 p.m. MOO

cant speak for the rest of my family but i am not very trusting of the mainstream news.

its more a barometer these days, of what a few large companies think we should know. thats the case globally. not just my opinion.

my dad is in no condition to speak to news. it had never occured to me personally. her son is eager to speak his mind on the news, so... stay tuned i guess.

barb used to be a cat lady who also had a dog. she went to school for art but dont know if she ever graduated. her art was around her apartment. when she visited us in may 2018 she brought a stick, like driftwood, but from the desert, which she had painted. gave it to my dad. i remember sculptures around her house back before robbie, including one which was a copy she had made of 'the thinker'. it was good and so were her paintings but she implied they were all things she'd made years and years earlier.
i had a pet iguana when i was about five, named iggy. she gave me an awesome painting of him.
I saw her about once a year until I graduated high school pretty much and then i saw her a lot less frequently.
she raised her son on her own and lived near her mum, so had that support out in san diego.
she was tough, not the type of aunt that spoiled you, but warm and quick to smile. her cats would always stay hidden when we would visit but her dogs were always very loving. shes always had at least one dog, and since meeting robbie has transitioned fully into dog person, i feel.
nore recently she collected desert rocks and sticks, kept a rock garden. dabbled from time to time in the art.

she was very excited about trump, not to turn anyone off to her, but was excited for something politically different. tried to sell me on him as the answer to america's problems. we could get into really good political convos, but she is a stubborn woman and rarely if ever do i remember her ceding any of her views. i like talking to ppl like that, and she could get a full head of steam on a topic.

she is a loving lady, loving aunt, loving mother whose son gave her a pretty hard time, though its not for me to share with all of you. i could go on but thats an intro.

these are all personal things. if this site and its users hadn't been so helpful so far, i would never share this information. not to msm for sure. gather most of my side of the family would agree on that.
What a very lovely lady Barbara is. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heart. Blessings.

He stated that he is a prime suspect.

What's going through my mind- we have a 2 and a half hour time discrepancy. He tells Barbara's brother one time (noon) and LE another time- 2:30. RT told a family member it took LE two hours to get there, when in fact, he didn't call until later, as he went to search for her. So his story changing is his own doing, not the media's or LE.

He stated that he is a prime suspect.

Yeah, but law enforcement hasn’t come out and said that.

They may have wanted him to feel that way, simply in an effort to turn up the heat.

He may want to lawyer up in order to get law enforcement off his back, but it isn’t necessary for him to do so at this point.

He stated that he is a prime suspect.
Yes, but that does not mean that he is, or that LE has any evidence that indicates that he is.
Investigators will always look closely at the spouse or partner first. Imo

I thought VI said that the family member wasn't exactly sure when he called.

Yes, RT told LE they were hiking at 2:30 and got separated. LE knows he called them at 3:26.

RT told family they were hiking that morning, they lost track of each other for 5-10 minutes, he went back to the camper, then he went to a cave, then he looked for her some more, and finally called LE at noon. LE arrived two hours later.

Two very different accounts. o_O MOO

Desert dispatch center is having issues with non-emergency & admin phone lines. Pls call (909)387-8313 for non-emergency services

I was looking for updates today and noticed on the day Barbara went missing they were having problems with non-emergency & admin phone lines. I know 911 is a different phone system, but wondered if that could have played a part in the time discrepancy. Prob not, but thought I would post it anyway.
