I thought VI said that the family member wasn't exactly sure when he called.
dbdb11's sister heard the call as RT was on speakerphone. This is what she told dbdb11. See BBM
hmmm i don’t have the sharpest memory but i’ll try to recount as best as i can - robbie and said he needs to talk to daddy and that barbara’s missing. it was a long story that started at the beginning on friday morning and progressed chronologically throughout the day. the impression robbie gave me was that she was wearing a red cap, a bikini and carrying a travel cup with beer in it. they lost sight of each other for 5-10 minutes before she “vanished” and he went back to their rv to see if she had returned but it was still locked so that meant she hadn’t come back yet (they had put the key under a rock which they both knew the location of). so he went back to check a shaded cave that they had found together earlier thinking she may have been taking a break from the heat but she wasn’t there either. he still wasn’t worried at this point because.. i don’t remember why he said he wasn’t yet worried. maybe because they both knew the area? or this was a regular thing? idk not sure but he continued searching for her on his own. by around noon time it was getting terribly hot so he started getting worried and called 911. police arrived like 2 hours later and searched for her. robbie said throughout the day they had sniff dogs, horses, hundreds of people and even a helicopter (which unfortunately couldn’t use its infrared function because it was too hot out to get any useful readings) and nobody could find any trace of her. searched throughout the night too. nothing. she had just disappeared. robbie admits “it doesn’t make any sense” that she just wandered off and got lost and there’s no evidence.. which is why he suspects she may have been picked up in a car. also because from the spot where she went missing she had to cross a highway in order to get back to where their rv was parked. also apparently she took a 360 picture that morning from on top of a hill and the photo included a parking lot with some vehicles in it so the police are looking into their license plates/info.

robbie said that he just wants barbara back and will press no charges against the person who abducted her so long as they return her. the call was delivered in a measured tone but he broke down a bit at this point, was tough to hear ..abc reached out? idk if it was abc but some mainstream news outlet and i definitely heard nancy grace mentioned. robbie’s done some interviews as he wants to get the word out. but he hasn’t seen or read any of the released news and comments. it’s too much

he said he keeps returning to the spot where he lost her and overturning rocks and searching and searching hoping to find something. he was there the day he called us although i think he said he shouldn’t really go back there as protocol says he’s the first suspect. he was even held for 5hrs in a cop car on the first day. it’s been nonstop and nobody is sleeping. robbie said he had held off on calling daddy to tell him the bad news because it was such devastating news and he was hoping she would turn up.. but he couldn’t wait any longer. he also said it’s difficult to call into china and said his calls rarely go through so if we want to ask any questions or talk more we should call him.

txt msg from my sister. wish i.asked.for this.earlier...

Desert dispatch center is having issues with non-emergency & admin phone lines. Pls call (909)387-8313 for non-emergency services

I was looking for updates today and noticed on the day Barbara went missing they were having problems with non-emergency & admin phone lines. I know 911 is a different phone system, but wondered if that could have played a part in the time discrepancy. Prob not, but thought I would post it anyway.
I saw that too and I don't think it has anything to do with the time discrepancy but it could have interfered with their ability to get units dispatched there? Not sure. MOO

OK.

Dumb question, the San Bernardino call logs say "dispatch call logs" not "911 call logs." Does this mean that these are only logs of times when officers are dispatched?

This is normal to me: "That's the last time I saw her."
This is not normal to me: "That's the last time I ever saw her."
MOO
Unnecessary convincing word. SA

But look at the photographs of searchers in the Daily Mail article linked recently. Huge jumbled rock piles towering high above the searchers, with many crevices that a small person could slip into.
Also, I'm thinking that the shaded "cave" RT mentioned had to be amongst that pile of boulders. I have no idea if it's an actual cave or , more likely, an area created by some large boulders leaning against/on top of each other. I did wonder if footprints were found there that could have been Barb's.

Not a dumb question. I've never thought about it, actually. I know we've matched the time on the dispatch log to phone records in at least one other case, and I think it would be the same with this agency but I can't confirm with 100% certainty. Sorry to be wishy washy. It's gettin' late, lol. MOO

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

He stopped to take A PHOTO and she was walking so quickly by the time he took one photo she was out of sight.

Toward the end of their hike, Robert told the outlet he stopped to take a photo while Barbara continued forward..

By the time I took the picture, she was continuing on because she [wanted to go towards] the RV and she rounded the corner and I lost sight of her,” he shared, noting that when he returned to the locked trailer with no Barbara in sight, he called 911.

That's ok, thanks.

Another possibility here... one I hadn't really considered before that fits with LE keeping pretty quiet about this case... is maybe RT told the truth about when he called, the dispatch logs are accurate about when officers were dispatched (which also roughly fits RT's claim about when the officers arrived, hours later), and the city is trying to cover their 🤬🤬🤬 about why it took so long to respond to a 911 call. MOO of course.

Robert said he believes his wife, who was wearing a bikini and carrying a beer in her hand, might have been picked up while crossing the road to get back to their trailer and taken to Las Vegas

Did either or both of them enjoy gambling?

“That’s the last I ever saw of her.” Past tense? What should he say that would be both natural and sound less suspicious?

The last he "ever" saw of her...meaning? He knows he will never see her again?

Edit: I see others have mentioned this term as curious too , now I have caught up.

Has it been determined what RT meant by "around the corner"?

Corner of what? A rock formation? A huge foliage?

Can we look at statistics?
The likelihood that this man murdered his wife is off the charts.
Here's another statistic you wonderful wondering sluthes, the likelihood that they indulged in taking drugs at their age, especially LSD, might be 1 in one million.
I am VERY sure that law enforcement is focused on this man.
Additionally, I am VERY sure that he will be arrested for the planned murder of his wife.
Of course, I hope that I am wrong.
But, I highly doubt it.
Yes this is very very suspicious.

He simply may be resigned to the possibility he may never see her again because he believes she was abducted. Or, of course, he *KNOWS* knows.

I keep watching it, and wondering what the dogs’ actions mean. If they had a dog to spare, it might have been interesting to ask it to track RT, and see if where he went matched where he said he went.

I think the yellow lab is trying to convey a "so hot, so hot, the floor is lava" message to his handler. Or he's on his lunch break, because he doesn't look like he's too focused on tracking a scent. Just kidding, of course, but he certainly looks happy.

I would have liked to see them have dogs track both RT and BT to see if they had followed the same path or not.

I agree! Unless it’s being said about something that happened a long time ago, and you never, ever did see that person again...

I have a question for the VI, going way back to the beginning ....

VI shared that BT had called family in China about her plan to travel there, and also told them that she and RT were going camping for a few days first.

Apparently her ill brother in China is *very* sick. Does it seem unusual to her family that she was going camping first instead of prioritizing the trip to China, and going camping some other time? Did they have reservations at some special camping spot that is in such demand that they wouldn't want to lose it, and that's why she was postponing the China trip until after the camping?

I ask because if one of my sisters was that ill, seeing her and bringing what comfort and support I could give would take priority over a camping trip that I could do anytime. Is the VI certain that it was BT who made that call, not RT calling to share their plans?

Could it have had something to do with the cost of the trip? Last-minute purchases sometimes skyrocket in price. Could holding off those few days have made a substantial difference?
