imo deceased.....180 degrees opposite direction from where the search was with their home running through the middle like a line.
speculative of course.

Wondering if anyone saw them while loading up their vehicle for their trip. Did neighbors notice the two of them placing cooler, beer, snacks, etc. in their vehicle? Has anyone reported seeing them drive away together?

We don’t know how and why the polygraph test happened, but beyond the shadow of a doubt, RT could have refused to take it.

MOO, of course
But he chose to take it and tell.
And tell it was deceptive to boot!
Why?

I still want to know why the husband mentioned someone could've taken her to Vegas.
Or at least he mentioned to broaden the search area to include Vegas.
Why there ?
Sticks out in my mind.
I am wondering the same myself and am surprised folks are intrigued by this as well.

He mentioned Vegas for a reason. Why?

I am worried that her body may eventually be found, on the way to Vegas.

There's a reason why he mentioned Vegas.

Not saying this is true in this case, but some people think they can beat it. Or, subconsciously, they really want to be caught and punished. Guilty conscious.

That’s right. Leave no trace.

Every piece of trash goes in a plastic zip-locked bag in my pack. I don’t even toss a apple core. It’s trash and packed out.

DH and I will pick up trash when walking around our neighborhood. Can't stand the sight of it.

Respectfully snipped for commentary focus.
Agree.....the subconscious coming forward. Vegas it is, I betcha.

RSABBM:

I find RT's early leap to the abduction theory even as LE was sending out search teams, dogs, helicopters, etc., out combing the desert looking for BT inexplicable.

Well, almost inexplicable.

Unfortunately, the reasons I can think of for RT promulgating this stranger abduction theory are not innocent ones.

To your point about the phone records:

The SBSCO also investigated the disappearance/murder of Erin Corwin, and they were able to use phone info to assist them in their search for, and recovery of, her remains, but it took them considerable time, like a couple of months:

Untapped gold mine was site of Erin Corwin body

Search for missing Marine wife "like finding a needle in a thousand haystacks” - CBS News

Apparently, BT didn't have a cell phone, which is really most unfortunate, as LE could have definitely used that info.

I'm assuming RT does have a phone, though, so one would assume LE is going to be mining that electronic data to see if it in any way helps them in their efforts to locate her.

LE knows a whole lot more than they're telling us.

The fact that they aren't telling us anything other than the fact that they don't believe she's been abducted (as RT is postulating) and that they haven't found any evidence of her there (where RT states she was last seen), is in and of itself quite telling.

JMO.
This is what comes to my mind when I hear she didn’t have a cell phone: If her ‘disappearance’ via harmful means was planned, did the person (let’s say the spouse) ensure she didn’t have her cell, knowing that otherwise police would be able to track her with it.

I hope the road to Vegas is being searched. Although it could be that she was never actually on the hike but has been in Vegas all along.

From my own perspective, if I were Robert, my initial concern would be that Barbara fell/became disoriented due to the heat and is hurt somewhere. I wouldn't think she was abducted. From what others have posted, the incident involving the other female hiker occurred around the same time and wouldn't have been public at the time (am I correct?). So I'm not sure why Robert's concern was that she was abducted. Given the terrain, heat, and the fact that she was not carrying water, I'd think that she had fainted, gotten hurt, was somewhere in the area, and so would've appreciated help in searching for her.

Also, I am in the same boat with others questioning the 2-mile hike in that heat. I know others have mentioned that residents in that area are used to the heat, but it was mid-day when they went on the 'hike' or `walk' in July. IMO, something is off with Robert's story.
That's what I, too, can't get over.

He mentions abduction, but it never occurred to him that she could have fallen while exploring something near the camper? Or she could have gotten heat stroke or some other medical emergency could have occurred that she fell and hit her head? So many different scenarios could have happened, as well all know. Even seemingly healthy people who are active literally drop dead without warning- my own Dad did, and he was in excellent health.

This was also in the early days when she first went missing, he was saying he felt she was abducted. It wasn't like LE and SAR came in, couldn't find a trace of her, then he thought perhaps an abduction. Right away, he mentioned this.

Do you mean the case is closed, or it is a “closed” FB group?
I gather you need to request to be added to the group’s membership, not that the group has shut down.

Right there with both of you. You'd have to forcibly remove me from the last known place I saw her, because all I would be able to think is "She's GOT to be here somewhere. Keep looking." Abduction wouldn't enter my mind, because it's such a rare thing comparatively.

What would make her want to flee --as in getting picked up by a friend in another car ?
There's something about her vanishing that doesn't sit right with me.

As in-- getting away by any means -- no matter what you're wearing , and without the chance to take anything with you ?

Eta : The possibilities of a random abduction seem remote.
Well, not to mention, this would have to be meticulously planned out. That would mean that a friend would have to tail them and be at the ready for when Barbara made her "getaway".

The husband was with her, but he stopped to take photos- how would Barbara know that her husband was going to do that, and how would a friend just be right there, waiting for Barb?

To go along with that I think he speaks about her in the past tense.

While authorities have not released additional information about how the couple became separated, Robert told Inside Edition last week he realized his wife was missing when he stopped to take a picture of a rock formation and saw her rounding a corner.

"That’s the last I ever saw of her," he said.

MOO! Edited to add MOO!

Our VI confirmed that she didn’t own her own cell phone. He explained that she borrowed one from him when she was visiting in Hong Kong. I found a land line for her. Jmo

It’s a closed Facebook group of sleuths. Not an official page set up my family.

Dbdb11- Were the voice messages you received from Barb after July 10th .2019?

@noel leon are you related to Barbara? An earlier post seemed to indicate knowledge of her flight/hotel plans.

Now that the search has been called off, I am wondering if we will see R.T. and a team of family and friends as well as B.T.'s son start their own search?

They sure could use the services of the amazing team that located Amanda Eller in Hawaii!

I’m supposing that story is not true. Jmo
