Abduction Theorists - Where was BT in relation to RV?
@10ofRods
Thanks for insightful post. snipped for focus.
Agreeing w your post ^ re RVer practices generally. Good description.
In discussing possible abductions, I think ---
- Some posters have assumed or described BT as distant from RV - for ex., yards away, where she decided (hypo'ly) to hitch a ride. If so, passersby would not automatically associate her w the RV, so poss'ly make a GoodSam stop.
- Some posters assumed or described BT as right at/next to RV and would think nothing of the rig and woman being there. Like you said - sunning and funning in the desert.
And a person pulling frantically on RV door? All/virtually all RV doors I've seen are on curb side, not street side. When parked, seems it would typically be difficult for other vehicle occupants going by to see person at door. Of course, would depend on curves in the road and angle of rig parking job, etc.
My earlier post mentioned stranger-abductor theory as oooout there, and your post ^ explains why hired-abductor seems even fuuuuurrrrrther ooooooout there, imo.
This is a pull out large enough for 3-4 rigs of that size, and I can't picture anyone using it as a kind of parallel parking. There's actually a road (Hidden Hill) going through the north side of it. It could have been in there in any direction (so...her frantic pulling on RV or truck door *might* have been seen...but I think it's really unlikely.
If she deliberately walked away from the RV OR she took a wrong turn on the trail, she could have ended up walking along the road, for sure (and would definitely look out of place/in trouble). I think many people would stop in that instance (many being...2/3 of the people on that road? Most with good intentions? She'd have to be really unlucky in any of these scenarios).
I totally agree with you that both abductor scenarios (and all of the ways that could have played out) seem really really unlikely.
If she made the determination to try and hitch a ride, wouldn't she get the key out, enter the RV, use the toilet, put on her regular clothes, grab a credit card or wallet...?
Unless she was in real fear of her life/trying to disappear, she would do those things. MOO!
Totally different tangent: I'm thinking the reason that RT told the world the police considered him a suspect is so that he'd have an excuse to lawyer up. It doesn't look odd because he says he thinks he's a suspect. I bet he asked for his lawyer at the actual polygraph.
