CA- Body (IDd as Celeste Rivas Hernandez) found in vehicle at Hollywood tow yard, abandoned Tesla registered to singer D4vd – 8 September 2025 #2

Not to be gross, but I figure the trunk was carpeted, so that the moisture would condense, move downward and make for a very boggy carpet area.

The trunk isn't completely airtight (according to Tesla, it's designed so that the passenger compartment can get air from the flow over the front of the car, through the "frunk" and into an air scoop).

I have the same questions. Somehow, when I leave oranges in our little fridge (seals really well IMO), they can dry out, then there's condensation inside the fridge (which makes other vegetables get soggy).

I assume the sides of the trunk (and maybe even the inner side of the lid as well) are also carpeted.

As long as it was hot, the water from the body would keep evaporating into the air in the trunk (perhaps attracting insects, hard to say). What it would not do is go back inside the body. Apparently the body was wrapped in plastic, so some of the moisture would be inside the plastic, but again, they wouldn't have weighed the plastic - just the visible remains of the body. Here's the local news source for the body being inside a plastic bag:

Lots of little mysteries in this case.

JMO
BBM - Does this mean that, when driving the Tesla, the inside of the car would smell pretty badly?

Not to put a finer point on it, but if her remains putrefied (which given the closed environment seems more likely than desiccation, though it can be a bit of both.) Then any lost liquid found in the trunk would not be weighed with her body. That might explain why her remains weighed only 70kg.
BBM - Does this mean that, when driving the Tesla, the inside of the car would smell pretty badly?

It can heavily depend. It is notable that neither the initial complaints about the car, the initial parking officer who chalked around it, the tow company or the impound yard (for several days) mentioned any smell.

A combination of a plastic barrier, the frunk being smaller, completely compartmentalised from the cabin and more sealed/deeper in the car (compared to a normal trunk.) Might have been enough to keep the smell mostly contained.

The road it was on didn't have a pavement, so possibly there was a whiff, but nobody had reason to pass by or stay close enough to the front of car to grow concerned. The movement from the tow truck could have disturbed the 'seal' made by the plastic wrap or the frunk. Or, I imagine the tow yard had found bodies before, and so when they smelt it they didn't write it off.

I looked around but The Sun US appears to be breaking this one
"POLICE paid a visit to singer D4vd’s Los Angeles rental mansion after a 4.30 am 911 call – two months before a 15-year-old was found dead in the truck of his car....

The U.S. Sun obtained information through a Freedom of Information Request showing a neighbor called 911 on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The call was made around 4.38 am regarding a “public nuisance” complaint, but police didn’t arrive at the home until 8.57 am.

A spokesperson for the LAPD said the noise problem was regarding loud music playing, but when the police eventually got to the house, the situation was resolved.

There were no other 911 calls made from February 2024, when D4vd reportedly moved in, until September 2025, when his manager got out of the lease, and the star moved out of the home
."

Could be nothing, but it is notable that it happened around what seems a plausible window for her death - and that it was the only time D4vd had that issue. From what I remember neighbours reported he wasn't throwing ragers or causing bother in the neighborhood.

Also, while it's not guaranteed, if the L.A police use AXON body cams (and if the officer bothered to turn it on before knocking.) Then I think they usually have a 3 month window to save the footage before its automatically deleted. A unremarkable call like this would not usually be marked to retain, but we are just about still in that window. I wonder if The Sun requested it?

That might explain why her remains weighed only 70kg.
70 kg (154lbs) still seems like a decent weight for somebody her height and age, no? i might be missing some things here but on her missing poster she was assumed to weigh 54kg (120lbs)

Interesting. If this is the first and only phone call BEFORE Celeste was found, it seems it was probably abnormal or rare? Calling 911 is quite extreme for a noise complaint, though... perhaps the neighbour had complained repeatedly and they had reached boiling point.

Call was made July 20th 2025. Thats around 50 days, if this was the date of her death (purely speculation), until Celeste is found in his car. The car was moved for, what, 2 weeks around LA before finally being towed? That takes us to around mid-to-late august 2025. D4vd's main leg of his north american tour started August 5th.

My (very loose) theory: She is killed on or just before the 20th July. David has around 15 days to work out what to do with her body before he leaves for his tour, and at some point puts her in the trunk of his car. Leaves her there for 2 weeks until he has to go on tour... with him being far away and busy, he panics about somebody finding the car in front of his house. He knows it is inevitable it will be discovered. So, he decides to stage it as a robbery / abandoned vehicle and gets "somebody" to drive it around aimlessly until it is towed. OR, he wants to keep the car moving to AVOID it being towed - stalling, buying more time to dispose of the evidence post-tour.

This is ALL speculation.

TMZ has learned cops seized all the footage from multiple security cameras at the house last month while executing a search warrant. The owner of the house, Malden Trifunovic, tells us the external cameras would show anyone who went in or out of the house ... so, the footage could help cops track Celeste's movements leading up to her demise.

Malden says he hasn't seen any of the footage himself, because he intentionally did not have access to the cameras, to allow his renters privacy -- so, he has no idea if Celeste was ever in the house. He says he's asked LAPD for a copy of the warrant and an itemized list of what was seized from the house, but has not gotten a response.

Well I suppose this tells us that those were working and recording CCTV on the outside of the home, (and they were accessible by the landlord.) Police searched the house on the 17/18th September. It's a shame he did not mention how long the footage is saved for.

It will be a stroke of luck if the system retained before around the 17th August (and if only the landlord had access to the footage.) A month is standard in my experience.

However, this is an expensive property... one can only hope the amenities included nice posh cameras that had a lot of storage. I wonder if D4vd himself actually used them or reviewed the footage?

I wonder if the landlord had access to the CCTV footage all along and just didn't want to disclose that information to the public.

I think that poster meant 70lbs not 70kg, the reported weight of the remains.

He explained that the footage is uploaded to a cloud sort of situation. once a tenant moves in they create their own access codes and passwords to that footage on the cloud and he himself doesn't have that access. It is to maintain tenant privacy. So Landlord no, but LE, they don't need PW or code, they took the footage straight from the source or the security company that maintains the footage archives. JMO

ETA source:

Trifunovic said he doesn't have access to the security footage, but tenants can sign up with the security company to make an account and get that access.

Depends on the neighborhood. I lived in a quiet neighborhood with lots of elderly homeowners, and my neighbor called the police because our dogs barked for 10 minutes one night. Literally. It wasn't something that happened frequently and they finally had enough, this was the first incident.

Ohh yeah that makes sense now xD

This is true. But he lived there for 18 months or so it seems. Either he was quiet enough that reactive neighbours never needed to call the police besides this date. Or he wasn't so quiet but this was a particularly noisy night, making them call when they hadn't for previous parties.

This podcast, Side Bar has a 30 minute interview from today with the private investigator who was hired by the property manager of the Hollywood rented home to look into the case. Definitely some interesting info.

I wish I knew who moved the tesla to its parking spot.

PI says pretty much the day the tesla was cited was the day David’s tour bus was departing.

And I heard PI say the last photographic evidence of Celeste being alive is from January 2, 2025. But a minute later, to my ears, he says July 2nd for last photo.

Law&Crime Sidebar with Jesse Weber
Oct 17, 2025
''After the body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in singer D4vd’s abandoned Tesla, police raided his $3.6 million Hollywood Hills home — but his landlord wasn’t satisfied with their answers. He hired a private investigator to find out more. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber sits down with that private investigator — Steve Fischer — to reveal what he’s uncovered so far, and what his findings could mean for this still-unfolding case.''
"Timeline of death investigation for Celeste Rivas Hernandez
An investigation is ongoing after a body was found in a car belonging to singer D4vd. Here's a timeline of the case so far.
April 2024 – Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 13, is reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California.

August 5, 2025 – D4vd starts his Withered World Tour.

September 6 – D4vd’s Tesla is towed after it was abandoned on a street in Hollywood Hills.

September 7 – Rivas turns 15 years old.

September 8 – The Los Angeles Police Department discovered a dismembered body wrapped in plastic in the trunk of D4vd’s impounded Tesla.

September 17 – The decomposing body is identified as Celeste Rivas.

September 18 – D4vd’s house is searched overnight and investigators take a computer and other evidence. D4vd continues his tour with a show in Seattle. Rivas’s family breaks their silence on their GoFundMe page.

September 19 – D4vd cancels the rest of his tour.

September 23 – Rivas’s body is released to her family. It’s revealed that D4vd and his manager have broken their lease and left the house that was raided in Hollywood.

October 6 – Rivas is buried in a private funeral ceremony in Rowland Heights, California.
Then, an officer issued a second ticket on September 3.''

He corrects it in the comments. He misspoke. Last photo of Celeste he has is 2nd January 2025.

Of note from the interview.

He has 'thousands' of images from inside D4vds house from people in his circle/cameras found in the house, but no photos found placing Celeste inside that house.

He found cameras (maybe SD cards) containing lots photos of Celeste around downtown L.A, taken by D4vd. Presumably pre 2nd Jan 2025.

He believes she was not staying at that house but at another location .

Black Tesla was well maintained/visible on social media until January 2025. It is then not seen again until July, it was already dirty. The red Tesla found in the houses garage was leased 2nd February 2025.

Car was moved to that location 'late late July' and tour bus departed shortly after. (If we assume for the SF show on the 30th. I imagine anyone on a sensible timeline is leaving on at least the 28th July.

There is neighborhood CCTV going back that far. Either showing the car or covering the road well enough to catch any person/vehicle coming and going. He claims the person who moved the car to that spot it identifiable.

No evidence (presumably on the footage) that a body was transferred to car once it was parked there.

The house had a DVR system and a sophisticated network of cameras and window/door sensors. In control of tennant. Likely turned on as an alert was sent when police took the lot.

The landlord supplied one key to the house. Somebody was in the house while D4vd was on tour.

Presumably D4vd did not move the car to its final location - investigator speculates whether person in the house while D4vd is on tour may have also moved Tesla.

There were materials in the house that could be used/collected to potentially dispose of the body.

There is more but must sleep

Very amazing recap! And thank you for clarifying the date of last seen photo of Celeste as January 2 and not July.
Thank you!
