This article posted by @dotr contains an interview with d4vd and he is asked how he thinks about how playing narrative video games influenced him. His answer is strange to me but I know this alone doesn't necessarily point to anything nefarious.

It affects my music in a major way. I was so attached to those characters that I was a personality sponge. I would watch these characters and think they were so cool, so I’d base my personality off of the next game I played, and then the next game. I love living vicariously through people, like in video games, movies and TV shows.

I am thinking that "extended period of time" was likely over a month, given the clues about decomp and the difficulty in identifying her ethnicity and initially, even her sex.

Why leave a body in a car registered to yourself? Just abandon a Tesla?!

None of this makes any sense. Unless she was killed one place, and he was transporting the body, and Tesla ran out of charge, he just panicked and left? Or got a flat tire? Teslas do not have spare tires.

Tesla is interesting, if you have financed your car, it is all internal to Tesla. So, if you are late on a payment, you can't charge your car until 24-48 hours after the payment has posted.

okay so this is what we know so far. David had abandoned his tesla in hollywood hills around a month before august according to neighboring tenants. A tow company took it and impounded it. Workers smelled something foul and police found a torso and a head. the girl was identified as celeste rivas and despite davids ex “celeste” having a different last name, they have a lot of similarities. Celeste Rivas mother had said she was dating a man named david, and she had went missing last year during april. they had matching tattoos on their right index fingers. she was on his stream twice and one time theres a clip of him telling his moderators to delete the stream and all resurfacing clips afterwards. All of whom are defending this man is bonkers,”he registered his car missing” no he didnt. just because hes famous doesnt mean hes not guilty.

Has it been confirmed that David himself abandoned his Tesla OR was it someone else? He’s been busy with concerts around the US… playing devil’s advocate here. Just wondering how we REALLY know.

My dad restored a Corvair for me for my 16th birthday. It had a rear engine and a trunk in the front and we never called it a frunk, it was just the trunk. I guess it adds to the novelty of a Tesla?

It is a term that is used to describe the front trunk in the Porsche 911 and was probably coined well before the Tesla came around.
