thank god! i was thinking there was more to the story, im just glad baby is safe. and also my sons gf is in labor and i was worried they'd get pulled over when they got out of the hosital again if the baby wasnt found. lol was about to tell them to stay at the house.

THREE suspects? Grandma included?

According to the article in People, LE doesn't believe that the grandmother is involved:

San Jose police spokesman Sgt. Christian Camarillo confirmed to PEOPLE that one of the three suspects taken into custody, a woman, was with Brandon's grandmother before the infant was taken.

"This was a person who was with the grandmother yesterday when they went shopping, she was present at the apartment complex when this happened," he told reporters via CBS San Francisco. on Tuesday morning.

The woman in custody originally started off as a witness, Sergeant Camarillo confirms to PEOPLE.

"Quickly, that moved into a person of interest, and then a suspect. There were some inconsistencies with the story she was giving us," he says. "Obviously, our detectives did a good job of pointing out the inconsistencies she was sharing. Like I said, she went from a witness, to a person of interest, to a suspect."

"She will be booked sometime today on several charges," he continues. "We do believe she played a role in planning this and helping the two additional suspects for the kidnapping of Brandon."

"As far as we know at this point in the investigation, the grandma didn't have anything to do or have knowledge of this planned kidnapping," he adds.

On April 25, 2022, at approximately 1:01 PM, patrol Officers responded to the 1000 Block of Elm Street on a report of a missing three month old infant. The child’s grandmother reported that after she momentarily went outside to unload groceries from her vehicle, she returned to the residence and discovered her infant grandson gone.

The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown male suspect, later identified as Jose Roman Portillo, had unlawfully entered the residence and kidnapped the infant. An initial canvass of the area revealed video surveillance footage of the suspect arriving to the victim’s residence with a child car seat in hand.
