CA CA - Bryce Laspisa, 19, Castaic, 30 Aug 2013 - #10

I can understand where his parents are coming from. As long as his remains haven't been found, there is still a sliver of hope. I stick with my original hypothesis that he is, indeed, in the lake. I really believe that. However, unless evidence of that is found, I prefer to believe he is working on a deep sea fishing boat somewhere along Baja. Maybe Cabo. Wouldn't that be a lovely outcome?!

Ok, I haven't followed as closely as some of you. But I have peripherally followed.

Just watched the disappeared.

I think schizophrenia surfaced. I honestly do. His behavior became very erratic. Even if the vyvanse triggered it... that has happened.

My heart still breaks driving through that area. His parents are in denial 😢
I completely agree.

I can't believe we are going on 4 years with this case and we are no closer to Bryce being found then we were on day 1.

Like many of you, I was here almost from the beginning and I have forgotten so much about this case.

But we can agree, Bryce was not in his right mind when all this went down. Something strange was going on with him in Buttonwillow. Something equally strange was going on with him in Castaic.

I'd love to believe he is sitting on a beach South of the Border sipping margeritas and watching the sun set.

For his parents sake, one way or the other, I hope we get answers someday soon.

Just checking in on the 4 year Anniversary of Bryce's disappearance. So surreal that it has been so long. I know I, along with so many others, never thought his would end up a case that stretched out so long with so many unanswered questions. I don't think a day goes by that I don't wonder where Bryce is and what happened to him that morning 4 long years ago. Continued prayers for peace and answers for his family and loved ones. Where are you, Bryce?

I can't believe it's been four years. I wish answers would come soon for his family's sake. It's as raw today for his mother as it was four years ago.

Four years did seem to fly past. Wish we could close this case. I personally think LE missed a huge opportunity when the lake level was low.

I agree. I am pretty sure he is in the lake. I drove from Chico to Valencia yesterday and thought of Bryce as I passed the Buttonwillow and Castaic off ramps. Wished there was a way for his remains to be found in the lake.

Maybe. The only problem with this is his crash occurred in the most frequented area of the lake. So if he somehow ended up in the lake, he would have ended up floating, how was he not spotted? The other option is he walked around the lake to less a populated area and fell in. Again he would have floated. Not a lot of brush to conceal him along the shore either.

I wonder if his body could have gotten trapped on something that kept it from floating.

I often wondered that also. Prayers to his parents.

Is there any new information yet?

I thought of Bryce today when I came across a FB post today about "American Homeless in Mexico". If you search on FB and YouTube you can see many American homeless in Mexico.

IMO, it's more likely that Bryce's remains are in Castaic Lake. However, I think this Mexico angle should be explored given the proximity.

Sherrifs, life guards and fishing boats constantly explore the lake. If he was there he would have popped up by now.

I think it's more likely he's in the woods somewhere

He very well could be. I don't know what the current of the lake was at that particular time, but it is entirely possible (as someone pointed out upthread) that his remains got caught on something. Some of these lakes have "gates" in them, and this is often times where remains are ultimately found. Not a nice thought.

But yes, the woods are certainly a strong possibility as well. Search teams can literally walk within an inch of remains and not see them outdoors. Even with grid searches.

The pumps to pump water into the lagoon are across the dam from the launch ramp. He could have some how got to the access road and walked across.

The area around the lake really isn't woods. It's more thick scrub brush than anything else. Hard to walk through and you have snakes and other critters to deal with in there. If he walked up Lake Hughes road and went past the church, it's rugged territory and there's not much back there.

With the holidays approaching, the Bryce Laspisa FB page asks for anyone in the major cities of Oregon to share Bryce's information with LE and homeless shelters.

Many of us will be celebrating another holiday without our missing loved one. No answers, no closure, but still hope.
For anyone in the major cities of Oregon, we would appreciate you sharing Bryce's flyer with your local police and homeless shelters.

That is quite possible. I would note that a thorough search of the lake when it was low would have ruled it out to a high probability and would have directed our considerable WS resources towards ground search and homeless community BOLO's. Two land scenarios are easier to deal with than adding a third (water feature) that is difficult even with advanced equipment.

I am curious why now is the Laspisa family is asking LE and homeless shelters in Oregon to BOLO for Bryce. Possible tip or sighting. I hope so.

There is a NOTE saying this is in response to a psychic medium’s suggestion.
