... I really have nothing to suggest or offer but am hoping that he is alive, somewhere. The burning body sent me over the edge with such worry that all I have left is hope.

Your signature line says it all, sister. <3

I keep checking in on Bryce's thread...

I am so disappointed he hasn't been found yet...

:sigh:

I personally don't think Bryce was having sexuality issues but if he was there's no reason to think that dragracerz would know that. Since BL told his mom they had a lot to talk about, the family was yet to know what exactly he had to tell.

About this fisherman that was seen on camera. Wasn't the car found way before the lake opened at 6:30? Does anyone else think its weird that a fisherman was seen on camera a few hours before the lake opened?

BBM I don't personally... fishermen are crazy. :) IMO and all and I'm kidding. I do think it's a little weird that they were there before the lake opened, but I know plenty of people who like to fish that go at ridiculously early hours so it doesn't strike me as all that odd.

Just a note about distances and times around here.

While on a map, it looks like the Castaic to Laguna Nigel is a fairly 'quick' drive, it's actually not at all as easy as that. If he stayed on the 5, and no reason to think he didn't intend to stay on the 5, he'd have to go through the east end of the San Fernando Valley; then through the backside of downtown Los Angeles; then down through the eastern Los Angeles communities, and then down through Orange County.

Each and every one of those cities/areas I mentioned has traffic at all hours - not our version of rush hour traffic at that time, but definitely a lot of traffic to get through/around. An example of our rush hour traffic is when I lived in the Valley but worked in Downtown...13.7 miles from driveway to driveway, but I'd leave at 7:20 to be there by 9 am.

The drive from Castaic to where I am is about 45 minutes to an hour (the San Fernando Valley), and from my place to my sisters down in Long Beach is another oh, say hour. And it's still farther to Laguna Nigel - probably another hour minutes or so. So that would be close to

And that's with no traffic, or issues with Caltrans doing work (they often work during the late/early overnight hours) - Caltrans can shut down entire freeways with no warning; just BOOM, and you're sitting in the car for 30 minutes. Same thing with the CHP - an accident and they shut things down...eventually opening one lane, but in this area, even 5 minutes with all lanes (or even one lane) shut down causes HUGE delays.

So it's a long, and often tough drive, although doing it at 2 am is not a bad idea...the 5 is *the* main freeway in Southern CA, too...bear that in mind when considering distances.

Bryce, come home. Somehow, come home.

Castaic has a 24 hours fishing area.

24 Hour Fishing
Castaic Lake has a 24 hour fishing area with a fish cleaning station located off the Lake Hughes Rd. lower lake campground entrance. Parking is free, except during park hours. Fishing OUTSIDE OF PARK HOURS in any other location, unless otherwise permitted, is PROHIBITED.

I think it actually has been handled from homicide right after the body was found because originally before the body was found I was able to find him on the national database for missing persons and then afterwards it went missing from the database and transfered I believe to homicide. I guess they never transfered the case back???

All JMO Only.

The headline is misleading. :/ "Called off" & "scaled back" are very different.

But this: "After searching with bloodhounds, helicopters, horses, motorcycles, divers and foot patrols for almost two weeks, authorities late on Wednesday night called off the effort, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Johnie Jones said Thursday.

"We've pretty much exhausted searching in that area," Jones said. "They've found basically nothing. So we're kind of at a standstill."

LJ, it's common practice to assign cases like this to homicide - does NOT necessarily mean that there's evidence pointing to a murder. I'd be willing to say that while not all missing persons are not directly assigned to homicide, some cases are, because of questionable circumstances.

It's also prudent and generally considered wise to work a scene as if it were a homicide, because evidence is handled differently than in a mp case...in case things get to court, evidence is treated as if it would be in a court...and we all know how evidence can make or break a case.

So it's treated that way on a regular basis, and nothing should be read into that. :seeya: Just mho, of course...

I realize and respect your opinion on that comment, but perhaps he was a man of few words. Perhaps knowing he was on his way and it was late at night she didn't want to push him. He did say ha wanted to talk to her so maybe shed hear about it eventually she thought. We don't know what happened during that convo. I'm assuming it might have been a brief one being late at nite. If he was having issues maybe that's why she didn't want to push him. We just don't know. :seeya:

Thanks. Point taken, I will just keep my thoughts and theories to myself on here.

I was going to say, it can depend on how the GPS was routing him, too. I've had GPS's do some crazy things.

Also, a VERY good point brought up by HC - middle of the night freeway work! There is always some freeway being worked on in LA/OC area probably every single night. Bryce's GPS may have had the traffic feature that adjust ETA times based on traffic info. This has happened to me.
