It was sold. As of this morning when I drove by, their old house as well as the rest of the block still as orange bows on their mailboxes.

I love that!

If Bryce continued taking vyvanse during the days between when he left school and disappeared, I really worry about him sleeping in the car outside and hope he was in a hotel.

Vyvanse elevates your body temperature. It was extremely hot when Bryce went missing. We all know in the heat of summer, the inside of your (turned off) car is even hotter than it is outside. Babies and pets can die quickly in hot cars in the summer. I'm really worried that Bryce took naps in the hot car with an already elevated body temperature. This may have made him confused.

Vyvanse also gives you dry mouth and is a diuretic. I'm really concerned if Bryce was taking it and that one drink purchase was the only fluid he was getting (and even more concerned if it was an energy drink). If you don't eat regularly on Vyvanse, you can get kind of lightheaded and easily confused. Yet vyvanse makes many people not want to eat or not feel hungry, so it's easy to forget to eat if you don't eat at regularly scheduled times. And this is what can happen to people who aren't even abusing it. I'd imagine abusing it would make these side effects even stronger.

I'm worried Bryce was sleeping in his car at the crash site (the crash may have been caused by confusion from not sleeping regularly, being overheated earlier in the day, not eating regularly, and being dehydrated) & got overheated. He got even more confused and wandered off or maybe tried to get in the lake to cool down.

I did a look up on the phone number. white pages says,
630-408-3355
AT&T Wireless mobile phone from Laguna Niguel, CA

But it is a IL area code

Can anyone do a search on this and find out exactly who's name it is under

That's the number that Bryce uses, posts those "lost phone need numbers" Facebook groups mentioned earlier. He has had that number since at least 2011, in IL, as one of his FB postings dates back two years at least. See my post #320. This phone is the one pinged for his location by LE, so Bryce still uses that number. Or did. It is connected to the parents' address in Laguna Niguel, which tells me, IMO, that it is billed there. They are perhaps paying his phone bill while he attends college.

So, just noting, ....

they made a permanent move to CA but, over a year later, still have their IL cell phone numbers. At least BL does.

I don't know that the cell numbers related to a previous residence is anything to be concerned about IMHO ....cell numbers do not have to be specific to the area one lives in- you can request a number from any where, depending on plan/carrier.
And you can easily take a # with if you do move out of an area, sometimes it is way easier to keep the number rather than go thru the hassle of changing and informing others of such. I am no where near my cell area code.

I still have the cell number I had when I lived in another zip code NINE years ago, so no, i don't think it's weird at all that Bryce's family would have their Illinois numbers a year or two after moving.

as an example, I have had the same number for 11 years and lived in 3 different states. If I change the number I lose my plan which is cheap but limited. I also would have to notify everyone of the change. So why change it? There could be numerous reasons BL did not change his number that would have nothing to do with his being missing.

Wow, wow, wow!! Great sleuthing!! Why are we just hearing about the hotel now? Dragracerz vehemently denied that the family was holding anything back. Are they aware of this? It may mean nothing (Bryce was sleeping in his car parked in the hotel parking lot).....OR, it could mean there's another person involved who paid for the room and food. Is it just me or is it strange there's been no mention/record of Bryce buying any food over the course of several days. It's HIGHLY unlikely that he paid for cash for food, but then would have charged a $1.17 drink. However, if there is another person involved, they could have paid for food.

Just jumping off your post...

Here are a few random thoughts/questions...

This "new" revelation regarding Bryce being at a motel/motel parking lot has got my mind going in all new directions, too...

I feel from the LE report that he was staying at the motel... But we don't know that for certain... Do we?

I, too, feel LE would have specifically stated he was staying at a motel parking lot, if that were the case... But... Who knows? :dunno:

However... If only staying in the parking lot... Maybe he was going in to get ice from the ice machine... Since it was so hot?

Regarding cash/change on him... Could he have had, in his wallet, b-day/
Christmas/etc. money and/or gift certificates (he had not used yet) for fast food places/restaurants?

Just some ideas...

Yes ... I agree ... again, I was just noting ... nothing more, nothing less.

Here is something I find interesting... And cannot get it out of my head...

It could mean something... Or nothing...

at the beginning of this case I tried to get the address of Bryce's parents from Free White Pages...

Aside from their current address in Laguna Niguel, I found an address under his mom's name...it is an apartment in San Clemente, CA...

This could have been an apartment they lived in when they first moved to CA....while finding a house ...

could it be an "office" for Karen? even though she is retired... Does she like a separate place to just get things done?

Could Bryce have snuck down to San Clemente... And be hibernating there now?

sounds kind of silly... I know...

But I thought I would put this out to you all to see if it makes any kind of sense to you...

^no prob Quester :) what is more interesting is the cell phone being left behind- and yet it seems a duffle bag was ...opened? Something retrieved from? What could be of importance to Bryce at that moment in time, that his other personal effects were left behind?

Now if Bryce wanted to disappear and take off to parts unknown, - why go to the extreme of wrecking a vehicle? Why not just abandon it in a back parking lot some where.

Re: opened duffle bag - IDK, could have even been someone else who retrieved something out of there. Was the small amount of blood near the dufflebag? Whose blood was it?

Re: crashed SUV - sounds to me as though the crash was either an accident where BL, after getting stuck, thought he could drive it down the hill or accidentally went off the cliff; or intentional after getting stuck, BL out of building anger and frustration as a result of the days/weeks events and getting stuck in the soft sand, let the SUV roll down the hill w/o him in it.

I'm not getting the sense that BL planned to get stuck/crash the SUV but who knows?

I am getting the sense that BL could have very well been already very, very angry, frustrated and upset by the time he made it to the lake area. JMO

I'm also very interested in the ADD drug/dehydration/extreme heat combination of components someone interestingly posted just up thread.

We need some more facts in this case!

Hey there Q :seeya::seeya: I moved to Florida from New Jersey 8 years ago and still have my new jersey phone number.

I would think by now LE knows if the blood was or wasn't Bryce's, as well as whether or not other finger prints were on the door handle/steering wheel of the vehicle, and which gear it was in when found, too bad we don't know these details yet.

I also want to second the exclamations expressed by kmw461 to RoseGarden. I am in awe of your sleuth abilities. Great work!

I, too, wonder if the family is aware of this information? RoseGarden, have you passed on what you've discovered to Dragracerz? Perhaps it could help them find Bryce!

The duffle bag was unzipped. Maybe he had just left it unzipped. It doesn't necessarily mean he unzipped it after the accident and took something out of it.

I was also wondering if LE in Kern County actually told Bryce's Mom where he was found. Because in the radio interview, she simply said "Lagoon Drive" IIRC.

I would want to know about the hotel part, if I was related to Bryce. And I would be driving to Buttonwillow and going into all the motels there on Tracy Ave and showing pictures of Bryce to the employees. Maybe some of them would remember him? Either because he checked in or because he was hanging around outside.

Not that this would help find him exactly, but it could give Bryce's family a few more missing pieces of a very perplexing timeline on that Thursday. So I hope they know about this!

Can someone in or around Buttonwillow check to see if missing posters are up at the hotels RoseGarden sleuthed?
Maybe even talk to desk personnel and post for employees on others shifts by check-in.
