IMO, if he is dying hair, disguising himself, etc. then he is likely staying with someone and does not want to be found. Since he probably does not have money, or a roof, otherwise, where would he dye his hair and how would be pay for dye, when he would need food, drink, etc.?

In your opinion, why would he make that decision. :anguish:

Care to share your thoughts??

Skipping classes is common but definitely not as common in the second week of school when, more than likely for a JC in California, there might have been a waiting list of kids trying to get into that class.

Mom gave an account of everything she knew about that week which, in relation to his classes, only included him going to class on Monday (I imagine she had verified with the school to know for sure he was in class on Monday.) I believe his mom would have included any other classes he went to that week in her timeline or there would be no point in her indicating in that article that he had gone to class on Monday. In my opinion sometime after 12:01 on Tuesday morning he made up his mind that he would not be returning to school and his odd journey began. With that said, that doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't suffering from a mental disorder, didn't take his own life, or couldn't have run into foul play along the way.

Well, of course!

Maybe he earned money that his parents did not know about.

I have no gut feelings as to what happened to BL. Really--a puzzling and frustrating one to me. I just don't know, so still hope for the best at this point...

Random thoughts:

If BL planned his disappearance: If his roommate/friend (SD) was so important to him as evidenced by his last text msg ("You are the best person I've ever met. You saved my soul.") , then I have trouble understanding how he would have not let the roommate know. After all, he would be leaving SD in the lurch, having to deal with the presumed shared apt rent, and that would not be a nice thing to do to someone who you think so highly of.

Also, sure am curious as to what kind of text msgs were on his phone during the time he was on this trip. Most young people his age text very often, so what kind of texts were made back and forth, and by whom? What were the nature of the texts? Even if they were mundane texts...even that could shed light on state of mind. Especially wondering for the time period he was in the Buttonwillow area for hours and hours.

I don't think specific information about the location of the shattered glass was released. The initial reports and even comments by dragracerz made it sound like it was broken from the inside of the car, presumably by an emergency tool. If it was broken the other way (with glass falling inside the car), I don't think they wouldn't have theorized that he used an emergency tool to get out of the vehicle. As you mentioned, it's pretty easy for even a layperson to tell which direction the window was broken.

Still no news about the dna in the car? I hope we will know soon. I will be very surprised if it doesn't belong to Bryce.

Jumping off your post, hope you don't mind …

the vehicle Bryce was driving, I do not recall seeing pictures. Am I recalling correctly? I find that odd, imo.

Why weren't pictures published of the accident scene showing the vehicle? very odd

I agree!:goodpost:

I just wish they could get TES to come out and do one last search of the lake and surrounding area. I just don't feel good about moving up the coast until TES can say with certainty he's nowhere around Castaic Lake. They have so much better equipment for this type of search. I just keep having this nagging feeling he's in that darn lake or around there because of the dogs picking up his scent ending at the lakes edge. I just can't seem to shake the feeling. I pray I'm wrong but just want to be sure. I have so much faith in the skill of TES. I don't trust the word of LASD. Its ridiculous there is still no DNA results on hair blood or fibers in the truck in a month.

Yeah, it does seem strange he would leave his roommate like that and also stop all contact, if he is okay. I am not sold on the amnesia theory, though of course it has happened before. Somehow, I think he would have made his way toward someone who could help him, mostly because of his mother indicating he was used to calling her for every little thing. JMO

Yep - very odd! Not one single picture of the SUV before or after the crash!

There were, however, published photos of the crash site after the SUV had been removed.

Same here, I don't get why the only pics released were after the vehicle was removed completely from the scene.

Yes, that is all I have seen. I would like to see a picture of the crash scene including the vehicle. Why wasn't that published?

Just had a thought - maybe it was discovered and towed before LE knew a missing person was associated with it?

  • #132
Also, photo/s of the missing person's vehicle are usually included on the MP flyers. Not in this case. ???

ETA: I realize the SUV was recovered but a photo could help to jog peoples' memories of BL's actions along the trip.

If a person has these tendencies, I think if he stopped calling his mother for every little thing, either:

1) he has found someone else to fill that role in his life OR 2) C in the poll.

The simplest explanation is he is still right there at the lake maybe even in the lake. Never left the area. imo

Recent update on the FIND BRYCE LASPISA page says the various CA sightings have not panned out. No confirmation on the potential OR sighting yet. I didn't realize there were so many reports of a possible Bryce in CA! Would this have all been the same guy that people were seeing?
I guess I'm wondering if it's possible this same redheaded minor was seen in all 4 towns. Or if maybe some of the sightings were him and others could have still been Bryce.

https://m.facebook.com/FINDBRYCELASPISA?id=619709491406791&_rdr

In terms of the poll, I vote "C - He's no longer with us." There just isn't enough evidence to persuade me that he left the area of the crash alive. I'd also like to add that C doesn't necessarily mean foul play or suicide. He could have walked off and passed away as a result of injuries from the crash, or he could have been disoriented and ended up in the lake.

As for the sightings, I know that a low pct of the population has red hair, so this naturally makes me more inclined to believe the sightings of Bryce. However, I also wonder if the red hair makes a "red herring" more likely. It's such a distinctive feature that I think a lot of people notice red hair before facial features. I don't think that all red-heads look the same, but I do think that people may be quick to leap to the conclusion that they saw Bryce just by seeing a man with red hair (since red hair is so rare). Also, they are probably more inclined to remember the hair color more than distinguishing facial features.
See I think these are all false sighting of him because I do NOT believe redheads are a rarity in California any more than it was falsely stated in the Linnea Lomax case that blondes are a rarity in Sacramento!!! In the Caylee Anthony case there were lots of false sightings, and there were a few false sightings of Laci Peterson too...

Those pesky little details never seemed to be a problem for either Jodi Arias or Casey Anthony!!!

I never got an answer to how much money was in the wallet if there was any? I think this is vital because if there was cash in it why would he leave it behind?

Tehachapi is between Buttonwillow and Castaic, so that might be far more credible than his having gone to Oregon, or even down to San Diego.:moo:

BBM I think he did let the roommate know. Roomie made a comment to the effect that he & Bryce made promises to each other and he intended on keeping them. Someone else noted that the roomie was tweeting a couple of weeks ago about moving out or possibly moving to NYC. That's not a decision you make overnight, nor is that something you decide very shortly after your roomie and close friend goes missing...unless you already know he's not coming back.

When my redhead grandson was about 15, he wanted his hair dyed brown. I hated being a redhead, people were always saying things to him. So being the good grandma that I am, I dyed it for him. I think I paid for the hair dye as well. LOL

That being said, because Bryce's red hair is his most stand out feature, that's one of the first things he'd alter. Can't do anything about the light eyelashes or the freckles, besides cover them up, but he could keep close shaven, otherwise dying his hair would be for naught. IMO
