If this was planned, why choose Tehachapi of all places to relocate??? Why not somewhere else? I do think something is going on with him mentally and that he is not in his normal right state of mind. Could've been a head injury from the accident.

To me, Tehachapi would be a good place to hide out. It's small. There are a lot of transient people there as it's right off Hwy 58 on the way to Fresno, Visalia, etc. People get off for services there all the time. I know I do. Subway to eat, Starbucks. Maybe Albertson's for snacks. Techachapi is one of my regular stops going through that area.

Not all the housing is close by and on top of one another. It's spread out. My sister owns a house there that takes about 10 minutes to get to once you get off the 58.

I find all of this fascinating! I am right handed. Write, crochet etc all right handed. My mom is left handed. Some things I do I use my left hand, cutting fabric, stirring cake mix etc. I always thought it was because I watched mom do it left handed. But I also learned crochet from mom and use my right hand for that.

I am left eye dominant and left leg dominant though. When I walk I always start off with left foot etc. therefore bowling right handed, but left legged just doesn't work for me. And I can't aim a gun very well either. Believe me I have tried both many many times and it just isn't going to happen. I gave up on bowling...but Lord help anyone who tries to break into my home. You never know what I might hit while aiming the gun

I crochet left handed, shoot a gun left handed. I play baseball right handed, and tennis right handed, yet I serve in volleyball left handed. I never did learn to knit, no one could teach me. I tied my shoes left handed.

I was forced as a baby to be right handed, but I refused. My father believed anyone left handed was "retarded" as he called it and insisted I was not going to do anything left handed. My mother said meals were a nightmare. He'd take the spoon out of my left hand and put it in my right, I'd put it back in my left and eat. He would end up mad, I would end up crying. He finally gave up.

But as I said, being raised in a right handed world made being a lefty difficult. The old ice cream scoops use to tear up the web of my hand as I used it left handed and it was a right handed instrument. And iron use to be right handed, with the cord pointing away from the right hander, but facing the lefty.

Student desks had the armrest on the right side. Lefties had to turn towards the right and push their papers to the right hand corner of the desk to have the support for their left arm to write. This is why so many lefties write overhand and hook the pen.

Notebooks were a pain in the sit down with the rings and spiral on the left side.

Just for reference,
Mulberry apts. are located on 444 W. E. st in Tehachapi.
K Mart is located on 710 W. Techachapi Blvd.
The distance between these two places is 0.3 miles.
If there is any credibility to the sightings, my guess would be the Mulberry Apt. complex might be the one to look into.
There is also a Tehachapi Senior I & II that is another possibility, located at 554 W. E st. real close.

Great sleuthing, Jo in Calif! That makes great sense. And Laundry Express, where it is likely the three loads of laundry were stolen on Sept. 9th, is just .6 miles from the KMart - Laundry Express 550 Tucker Rd, Tehachapi, CA - just 1 mile from that apartment complex... In the realm of probability, grasping at straws...

I didn't read the article, but did the clothes belong to a man or woman?

i guess i am in the teensy minority that feels Bryce is within , say a 3 mile radius, 3/4 around, of the vehicle accident....sigh...an unpopular opinion i know, but it is mine.
I do hope I am wrong though

Some questions that could lead to helpful information...
1) Is Bryce left-handed or right-handed
2) Did he ever have a nickname?
3) Do any of his Facebook friends live in Tehachapi or hail from there?
4) Does KMart have cameras and footage - in the news, they always seem to!

This is just my pea brain thinking again.
I am going by the Tehachapi location because that is where an anonymous call came from, that he was seen at an apartment complex.
Lets just say he does have a "bat" phone, Mom is on to him, as far as we know she had no idea he was not where she thought he was until the call about running out of gas.
He calls friend that he is going to see to "blow off steam with," on "bat phone," tells them his mom knows he is headed somewhere. Blowing off steam friend knows someone in Tehachapi that he can hang with for awhile until things calm down a bit. This is why he is hanging out in Buttonwillow for so long, a plan is being made. Car is crashed, he walks to pick up location, person drives off with him, takes him to their apt.
Things are getting awfully hot with the search. Apartment friend makes anonymous call, does not give name or name of apartment complex, that would be obvious that they made the call.
To me there was way to much time spent in Buttonwillow and Castaic, something was going on and IMO it is not drug related or amnesia.

Well...I don't know if you already know this or not. Left handed people circle to the left and take the left trail at a T when they have a choice. Right handed people circle to the right and take the right trail at a T when they have a choice. It has to do with stride.

This might tell us which dog scent was the correct one.

Really? That's fascinating... I was ambidexterous until I was about 9, when I injured my right wrist. I write lefthanded like a right hander (not that weird curled over the top thing), knit backwards, switch my cutlery round and always move my glass to the right. But I can use a mouse with both hands and with sport I tend to go righthanded (but am basically just slightly less rubbish that way round) and I get into a tangle with my bowling hand hitting my leg.. I can write backwards quite easily.

I'm gonna try that experiment. It would be amazing if Bryce went off in the direction of his handedness...

No I am with you there.
I don't think he is the person being spotted in all of these places.

This is what I think, too. Why? I don't know, but all actions previous to the vehicle being found on the Main Ramp on its side keeps telling me this. His actions that 24 hours + were an indication to me that things weren't right. He was taking way too long to drive the 8 hours it should have taken him to get from Chico to Laguna Niguel. He leaves approximately 11:30 pm Wednesday night and his vehicle was found crashed on Friday at approximately 4:30 am. That's 29 hours to make an 8 hour drive. What was he doing??? Why was it taking him so long? What was in Buttonwillow that he spent so many hours there???

The thing is that he left his girlfriends at 11:30 Wed night, we don't know if he started his trip to Laguna Niguel at that time. Did he go somewhere else and start his trip early Thurs morning?
Arrival time in Buttonwillow and staying there for so long, is the time I'm wondering so much about.

I agree with you two.

I wonder how far back LE checked the license plates on cars captured on the video leading out to the lake. Did they only check to see if someone followed him out there (meaning only cars that arrived after him) or did they check for a few hours prior to his first trip by the camera? If he met someone out there they could have arrived before him. Also, does anyone know where the camera is located?

I keep flip flopping back and forth on where I think Bryce might be. For those who believe he is within a 3 mile radius or so of the crash site, do you think he is no longer alive? And, if so, what do you think happened to him? TIA

that is what I am trying to figure- the location of this presumed camera...and GE street level is from 11/2011...now where would be a camera that captures tags? At the intersection of Castaic Rd & Lake Hughes?? Or Lake Hughes & Ridge Route?

Unless somehow he managed to be traveling south on Main Ramp RD coming up to Lake Hughes...and there is some camera down in the area?

hmm, ahh, speaking for myself , and trying to, respectfully, I am rather concerned that he was emotionally/ psychologically/mentally in a very fragile mindset, and may sadly have succumbed as a result of several contributing factors

Geez Louise! This is yet another aggravating case! At the outset, I thought
this one would be quickly resolved and possibly positively.

Was BL suicidal? Had he ever in his life been suicidal?
Last text to roommate could hint in that direction ?!?!?

Side effect reaction to drug taking ?!?!?

G/f writing on college board for suicide prevention about just hoping to find BL ?!?!?!?

Where is BL? :scared: :banghead: :scared: :banghead: :scared: :banghead:

Arrival time in Buttonwillow and staying there for so long, is the time I'm wondering so much about.

From what I gather, he got to Buttonwillow (or he called for gas) at 9:00 am. He didn't leave Buttonwillow until after 9:00 pm. When he left Buttonwillow is still kind of sketchy, but according to the timeline, he got to Castaic (at least that's what he told his mother at 2:08 am. Where was he those 5 hours when it only takes 1 hour, 47 minutes to get from Buttonwillow to Castaic, that after 12 hours of hanging around Buttonwillow.

Yes, when he left Chico is sketchy too. But his last accounted time was at 11:30 pm on Wednesday night when he left his girlfriend's house. I don't think the roommate has said anything about seeing him after the girlfriend's house to when he called for gas in Buttonwillow. So that is a big question mark in the timeline as well.

Would his friends or his girlfriend keep his desperate parents in the dark, if they knew or suspected he was hiding out with a friend or friends, going to K-Mart, etc.? For a whole month? Because I think they would know if he had a close enough friend who would take him in for weeks on end, no money, no job, no vehicle. JMO

Did the roommate catch a ride with BL from their apartment to Buttonwillow?

With maybe a/some of the roommate's friend/s from Antelope Valley, his ?hometown?, picking roommate up from Buttonwillow?
