IMO more people are likely to get involved if money is on the table, especially if unsavory drug people are involved. Even a small reward of $1,000.00 is akin to a million dollars for some. I also think a billboard somewhere along side the I-5 in the Castaic area would be helpful. Unfortunately there are many people that don't take the time to read flyers or may not have seen one and with the amount of truckers that drive that route it could be very beneficial to have a billboard there.

A billboard would be wonderful! Unfortunately, in other cases, unless funds are donated, they tend to cost upwards of $15,000.

Bryce is pictured here, under featured missing, in CA (also, Susan Jacobsen and Neal King, both who have threads here. In fact Neal resembles Bryce a bit, IMO).

I am constantly running into friends, family, etc. that have never heard of Bryce though we live only an hour away from Laguna Niguel. I know several people from the Sacramento area that, as recently as a few days ago, hadn't heard about Bryce. The reality is, a lot of people in California have never heard of Bryce so anything that anyone can do to inform more people that he is missing, the better/ If it means that they offer a reward (and they have the money or can have it donated) then it is absolutely a great idea. I just don't think that the LAPD has the resources to do so.

Susan Jacobsen has been missing for going on six months in Ca and people in her town are barely aware. She went missing from a grocery store parking lot, apparently in broad daylight, her car left behind along with her purse, etc.

Missing people just do not get attention unless it is generated by the family. Marc Klaas has said this thousands of times. The family has to be relentless about it. I know Bryce's family is trying to do just that, but it is such a struggle. I hope they will soon, or are working with a professional group dedicated to the missing soon. They have media contacts, tips, etc. in how to spread the word and keep your missing loved one in the news. And the more info the better; you really have to lay it all out there, IMO, to reach all possible audiences who may have had some interaction with the MP.

Bryce seems to have a great deal of experience with computers (gaming/FB/etc.) ...

Sooo... I imagine he would be attempting to access computers in some ways... And could be following his own case carefully...

I wonder if libraries have been checked out in the various areas that there have been supposed sightings of Bryce... Could he have used library computers to follow his case?

I am fairly new to this case, but just wondering if he is familiar with technology and search status, could it be possible he is trolling and posting or calling in fake sightings to throw people off?

In the Erica Parsons case Edwards Outdoor Advertising was contacted by the FBI and the company donated billboards. Maybe this would be an avenue to pursue.

I believe it was KS (his girlfriend) and her roommate who saw him last (though after that he was seen by Christian and LE; not sure they would have remembered enough to give a description as to what he was wearing.)

Can somebody shed some light on why LE is opposed to offering a reward at this time? IMO it might shake loose some valuable information that may lead to bringing BL home or at least shed some light on the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Offering a reward brings out all the lunatics, mediums, psychics and grifters that are trying to score some dollars, and generally produce about 100 useless leads in a short amount of time.

I would like to know the name of the motel at which Bryce was found at his car, parked there. The police transcript says "at a hotel" and if we knew which one, there may be sleuthing options there. Bryce's trip home was long and winding, and it is probable that Buttonwillow was just the next place he could "detour" on his travel homeward. But the hours in that town, (sitting in a car with the A/C running?) is just so very odd. Still suggests to me something happening in the head, whether physiological or psychological. As mentioned earlier, I hypothesize that there was a homeward trajectory and "life decision" Bryce wanted to share (I call this "BC" "Before Crash") and then there was the return trips to the lake area, maybe to see the moon on the water, maybe to swim, who knows. Then the car toppled, and something shifted. The path home was altered, and I call this "AD" "After Departure" from the vehicle. IMO, things were "normal" for a 19-year-old that maybe did not want to continue at college or whatever. He is close to his parents, wanting to talk. Then, AD, he is "lost"... perhaps in every sense of the word. These are of course MOO, and my theory. We must spread the word as aggressively as possible. As has been mentioned by others, too many are unaware of this case, Bryce's appearance, his disappearance. We must press on, Websleuths and Laspisa family!

I agree! I live in San Diego and have posted information about BL locally with News Stations and not a bite. They want to hear from the family directly. Not that SDPD or SDSO would have the resources either but the word needs to be spread through media. Sending it out to Crimestoppers would be a great idea! :moo:

Dragracerz has said today he wasn't at a motel but was seen "near" the motel. He was adamant he wasn't in the motels or parking lots.

I have put up a few thousand dollars for my missing cats & dogs over my lifetime. I didn't have much money at the time but borrowed from my family and friends. It did bring them home and I paid everyone back. People needed the reward money so they went out looking for them. If it was my child I would come up with some money even if I had to mortgage my home, take out a loan or sell things to come up with a reasonable amount if it leads to the return of my son or daughter. it would be money well spent. You only have to pay the reward if it leads to the safe return of Bryce. The family lives in Laguna Niguel which is a very exclusive, expensive area in Orange County so maybe they could offer a few thousand to get the ball rolling.

Dragracerz- if you come back , please, do Bryce's parents know if there might have been a flashlight in the vehicle? It might prove helpful to know IF there was and if so, is it missing.

(when I was that age, my Dad made me have a flashlight, jumper cables, blanket, jug of water, etc in my trunk, so I was prepared for stuff...pre cell, and I made my DD too, even with a cell....so I got to wondering what Bryce might have had with)

JMO I can't think of a case where a reward solved a case like this. Maybe there are a few...but they are very rare.
