While I feel really horrible for whoever this is and their family, I'm willing to bet it's not Bryce, only because it said the man is "white or Hispanic." I'm assuming if they were able to make this determination the person's body must be in relatively decent condition, and there's no way Bryce could possibly be mistaken for Hispanic, IMO.

That said, I'll be on pins and needles until we find out who it is. :(

Or it may be they know things we (or the family) aren't aware of. JMO

it may be they distance themselves because they are at a loss of what to say or do...and kind of a self preservation thing, 'if I don't think about it, then it can't happen to me'...I am so afraid many of our young people are floundering emotionally

I have followed a lot of cases with missing persons in this age group and one thing that has always surprised and disturbed me is how little the lives of their friends seem to be affected(not all friends, of course but overall.) Kortne and Adrienne are two who come to mind, but there have been others. Only a handful changed their FB photos to a missing flyer and many just seemed to go on with their lives with little interruption. Not sure if this is a sign of the times or what. I know it is a very self-obsessed age, but seems even more so nowadays than ever. We had a girl who went missing when I was in college and literally, no one talked about anything else for months.

I am sure Bryce's closest friends are much affected and grieving. But from what I have seen, casual friends don't seem to miss a beat very often in these cases.

Anyway, all JMO of course and just an observation.

So, so true. Looking at Bryce's FB page with 872 friends only one share and 7 likes for his missing person poster and seven likes and no shares for the video of Bryce.

From my own personal experience, a neighbor who I graduated High School with went missing about 10 years after we graduated and, though we had a lot of friends in common and I was living in our home town at the time, no one heard about it or even really spoke about it. I helped plan our 20 year high school reunion and included a special memorial to him. I was surprised to find out that 99% of our graduating class was shocked to find out he was missing. I think, short of helping to search in the beginning, people don't really know what they can do to help. I know I always wished I could do more for my neighbor and his family. It has been almost 11 and a half years now and his family still has no clue where he is. His car was found on the side of the road with all of his belongings left behind and he hasn't been seen or heard from since. These cases are heartbreaking!

Not necessarily. I remember reading that there's a visible difference between African American peoples' bones and those of Anglo American skeletal structures. That's considering that an experienced person has made a cursory determination. Can't recall reading anything specific about Hispanic similarities and/or differences.

Oh no! Again. :( This does seem to be a popular dumping ground. I'm hoping Bryce's family has some answers more quickly this time.

What the heck is up with people dumping bodies in orchards in the greater Bakersfield area? If someone comes back with a MSM article stating that almond orchards in Bakersfield are considered the #1 best place in America to work I am drawing the line. :shocked2:

Highly unlikely this is related but I am praying, none the less.

Where are you, Bryce?

If he is not alive...I hope he has been found.

Uh oh.......not good. Praying it's not Bryce. I don't think it is though. FWIW.

I think teenagers can often be very protective of their friends, and what they know about them. Especially when it comes to authority figures, or even parents. Sometimes, what they know only comes out gradually, or has to be coaxed. No criticism or saying that's what happened here, I just saw it with another young student who disappeared without his money or computer or possessions, in very odd circumstances.

He was later found safe to my shock and great delight, but it had become obvious he had not been in his usual frame of mind when he left, and his friends were aware but not giving much away.

Sorry, this is a reply. I meant to quote this post from Voice4theSilent:

Good point. That's why I'll be on pins and needles until we know for sure.

I've been following that page and didn't see this post. Huh? Must have missed it...

Yeah. It's there. I saw it yesterday. It's in response to a question from someone so it may not be easy to find.

Is it the generation? I do know that these kids are so inundated with social media, things can bypass them easily. I notice that with my younger family members. I mean, they have hundreds of FB "friends", all who posts things that show up in their news feed.

We have learned that some of Bryce's friends were unaware he is missing. I'd like to see the family "share" his missing poster on each one of his FB friend's pages.

The body was not there yesterday, was thought to have been dumped, has visible trauma (which means the body is not in an advanced state of decomp) and they think he may be Hispanic or white, which indicates to me the body is unlikely to be redheaded, or even fair.

I do not believe it is Bryce.

Just another of the countless human beings found tossed as if they are trash. This case has opened my eyes to how many people are murdered and dumped in California.

BBM I'm sorry I know none of this is funny, but this one comment made me laugh.

They report 'body' not skeletal remains. Therefore likely to be someone who experienced trauma recently. They point out trauma is evident on the body. Orchard workers say the field was checked late Tuesday afternoon. No body found then but a body was discovered at about 8:45 a.m. today (Wednesday).

This is EXACTLY why I have not ruled out foul play. One yesterday and one today.

This is why the coroner is so back logged

Looks like some people think they are a good place to rob.
