CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- The latest information in the case of Caleb Quick's death is a nine-day-old video from the McDonald's at Willow Station in Clovis.

It looks like a normal scene as a youth church group ate. But right in the center, Chief Curt Fleming says a person dressed in all-black was watching Quick.

"It was a pre-planned, targeted murder," Chief Fleming said.

The suspect, likely a man, entered the store 13 minutes before and sat quietly.

They appeared to focus intently on Quick from across the dining room. When Quick moved, so did the suspect.

"He was stalking him. It was like Caleb was prey. And to watch him so intently stalking him that he even pushed his chair out. I broke down, when that happened, I was like- wow," said Quick's mother, Stephanie Bauch.

Bauch didn't want to watch the last minutes of her son's life, but she was compelled after learning police had new evidence to share with the public.

She says since her son was tragically murdered, life feels more like a nightmare.

How strange. Hard to fathom a motive here, IMO, unless some kind of impersonal gang-initiation killing, as preposterous as I feel even typing such a thing.

Watch this video of the killer leaving, anyone think this could possibly be a woman - not a man?

I think it's a young man a little on the heavy side or wearing bulky clothes. He sits with the man-spread too. It's weird to me that he didn't just wait outside instead of acting suspiciously inside where there were cameras.

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police have seized a Tesla that they believe could be connected to a teen's murder outside a Clovis McDonald's last month.

Tuesday, the Clovis Police Department served a search warrant at a home about a mile away from where 18-year-old Caleb Quick was shot and killed.

At around 10:30 a.m., detectives were seen going into the home and bringing out a girl in handcuffs.

Wow wait a minute, two years ago on April 28. Andrew Dubbels threw explosive devices at an rv, starting a fire at the Quick home in the middle of the night. LE says it was a targeted attack (arson, child endangerment, stalking & possession of a destructive device).

Flash forward two years, on April 23rd - Caleb is stalked & killed by an unknown assailant.

Who is Andrew Dubbels and why did he target the Quick home two years ago. Of the three people who lived in the home, who was he stalking?

Here's another article. (I couldn't access the WP one as it is behind a paywall for me.)

Police said Quick’s home was targeted. The suspect, Andrew James Dubbels is at Pleasant Valley State prison and his parole eligibility is set for November 2026, according to court records.

Even though the arsonist is currently in jail, it does make me wonder if Caleb's murder is related to this arson from two years ago.

How many cases have we seen where someone in prison seeks retaliation? I didn’t listen to the entire press conference last week, I wonder if the arson case was mentioned?

Up until Tuesday, the investigation was at a standstill, according to Clovis Police. Action News exclusively captured a video of a tow truck hauling away a key piece of evidence: a white Tesla matching the description of the getaway car police say picked up the gunman as he was fleeing the scene.

A 16-year-old girl was taken out of the house in handcuffs, then after about 40 minutes, she was released. Action News has learned she is now being represented by a well-known defense attorney.
