CA - Caleb Quick shooting: Clovis Police asks for patience while detectives work to identify and arrest shooter

So was the victim in that assault, related to the shooter or driver? Sort of confused on that point.
I think the allegation is that the 16 yo girl who drove the getaway car was a sexual assault victim of CQ. In investigating her claims, allegedly police found video of another girl who CQ filmed while he was sexual assaulting her. The shooter was a male friend(?) of at least one of the girls. Jmo

But his attorney doesn’t state that, unless I missed it?

“I can tell you our client is doing very, very well in custody from the standpoint of attending classes. Her behavior. She’s considered one of the top behaving individuals that is in custody in juvenile hall,” Hammerschmidt said.

The teen’s attorney said he received more evidence late last week from the Clovis Police Department.

That information could come out in the future Evidence Hearing.

For now, the proceedings are delayed until the next court date, which is scheduled for July 15.

This attorney irritates me. His client should remain in jail, it’s irelevant how well behaved she is. The crime she is accused of is very serious. Even if the charge is dropped to a lesser degree, she participated willingly in killing someone. At any point she could have prevented Caleb’s death.

Regardless of what Caleb did or did not do. Vigilante justice cannot be rewarded.

That’s interesting. I knew his name sounded familiar. He was one of the prosecutors on the Dana Ewell case.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- As a 16-year-old murder suspect makes his way through the justice system, families of other victims are pushing for change that could land the boy a longer sentence.

The teen is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Caleb Quick outside a Clovis McDonald's in April.

Investigators believe the suspect watched Quick for several minutes in the McDonald's before following him to the parking lot and shooting him, then leaving the scene with his girlfriend.

The boy will return to court in October for another status hearing as part of the process to potentially move the case to adult court.

The other suspect was in court last month; her transfer hearing could extend into next year.

FRENSO, Calif. (KFSN) -- On Tuesday, the public is one step closer to learning more about the killing of Caleb Quick.

Attorneys are saying they're ready to move forward with a high-stakes hearing to determine if the female suspect should be tried as an adult, scheduling it for March 9.

We're now learning how the transfer hearing could play out:
  • It will happen at the main courthouse downtown.
  • One of five judges there will be designated to hear juvenile cases will preside.
  • Attorneys expect the entire hearing to last five days, with the young suspect transferred each morning from juvenile hall to the courtroom.
As for the male suspect in this case, his transfer hearing could be set in the new year.

I know what my opinion is on whether the female minor who drove the get-a-way car should be tried as an adult. Both of them should be.
