CA - California couple accused of tricking women into carrying babies through surrogacy; 21 children seized

I'm not sure if this is a joke or not, but I hope it was a joke because the mental image of a baby fighting ring made me laugh.
It sounds funny, but there have actually been fighting rings for toddlers (some call them babies) at daycares.

Well I thought I had seen everything- the depravity of some people has reach an all new low.
It seemed a smarty comment to me, not based on anything other than an attempt to be entertaining in a thread about crimes against infants and young children.

To me- inappropriate
There is nothing funny or entertaining about babies or young children behind exploited or harmed.
This is a true crime site- many people here are survivors. It isn’t funny

IMO

Police were called several times over the past few years to an Arcadia house where 21 children, many from surrogate mothers, had been living before they were taken into protective custody earlier this month, according to new documents obtained by NBCLA.

A man and woman who live at the home were arrested in May and released as detectives look into allegations of child abuse. Police responded to at least six 911 calls at the San Gabriel Valley home since January 2022, according to the documents obtained through a records request. Police may have responded to more 911 calls, but several calls were redacted from the documents.

One year ago Friday, police responded to a welfare check at the home, according to the documents obtained by NBCLA. The records also indicated there were calls from people who suspected an illegal business was operating at the property.

So police presumably knew very well about this house and the children (?)

It's good to know someone noticed there were children who needed to be checked on. I wonder what took place at the welfare check and what kind of illegal business was suspected.

Have a trial, and book those who knew about this. Lock 'em up.
Hoping the children involved are young enuff to not remember it.
Just damm.

This story is very interesting. My first thoughts were human trafficking, organ harvesting, future espionage. There's a lot of sleuthing that can be done here. The registered businesses are publicly available, including all the inactive ones. You can find other business partners of the male in the story. You can also find other similar "agencies" to what this couple ran in the nearby areas of CA. The difference is these two got caught.

While the name Silvia Zhang isn't that uncommon, it's an interesting coincidence that the buyer's agent for the purchase of their house is also named Silvia Zhang and whose CA real estate license is tied to that address. However the pictures of the real estate agent are clearly not of the same woman we see in the news of this case.

Here's hoping.
Unfortunately pre-verbal memories can get stuck as traumatic memories and affect the children that way. MOO
