Thanks Kinster. I read she was wearing running clothes. Has it it been revealed what articles of clothing and the color she was wearing?

I suppose that if it's cool out a hoodie or even hooded jacket would be practical to keep warm while running.

He's capable of getting a innocent 13 yr old in a vunerable position and then attacking her for his selfish needs. It is very bad to hear this.

The news just reported that the 13 yr old girl was a neighbor and that he offered her a ride to school, but then got her into his house. They report that he was said to have been hitting her in the face, so it was a vivcious type sexual assault.

In the 2002 case the DA said,.....he has an unnatural interest in very young girls................

........a callous attitude and refusal to admit wrongdoing.

Sorry, can't catch all they're saying. 10News is doing a good job trying to answer the public's questions.

Adding to my own posting.

My next question is going to be HOW MANY TIMES DID LE LOOK AT HIM WHEN INVESTIGATING THE AMBER DUBOIS CASE? WAS HE EVEN QUESTIONED?

"A registered sex offender arrested for investigation of murdering a missing 17-year-old San Diego County girl is refusing to cooperate with authorities who renewed their search Monday at the park where she vanished Thursday."

More confirmation he's not talking. Don't these POSs realize silence seems even more suspicous?

Let Mrs. King in with him for a little bit. He will be begging to cooperate and tell all he knows. :furious:

For heavens sake. All of these people who refuse to talk should be water-boarded. I'm serious. I think we are just TOO civilized sometimes. Argggh.

We'd have so many answers to so many missing persons cases if we did that.

snip:

At a two-story, tan-colored townhome on Matinal Road in the Westwood neighborhood of Rancho Bernardo Monday morning, extinguished police flares were the only clue that the place had been searched by police overnight.

The dwelling is close to Rancho Bernardo park. Neighbors said Gardner’s mother and stepfather have lived there for about a decade. They said Gardner showed up occasionally and would say hello to nearby residents as he came and went.

and grandma's house snip:

In Lake Elsinore, neighbors on Gillette Street — a hillside tract of blue-collar homes overlooking the lake — said Gardner sometimes visited a house owned by his grandmother. They didn’t see any signs of criminal activity there and were surprised by Sunday’s law-enforcement search of the property.

A neighbor said officers were especially interested in a shed behind the two-story house.

Wouldn't one normally take a cell phone on a run these days? Her cell was still in the car, that makes me think she was taken at the car site and never got a chance to go on her run.

also the ipod being in the car was odd to me. When my husband works out the ipod is alwas on him.
Cellphone I could see leaving it as it Could interfer with her run.

Indeed. But when LEO made a mistake and waterboarded the wrong person, even for the first time, can you imagine the uproar?

I don't know the area other than what has been posted. But it seems she was a serious runner and may not take her cell phone or the reception may not be good in the area. I would imagine this is a question the police asked her parents. :waitasec:

My thoughts exactly... I'd imagine the iPod before the phone, but only specifically in this case since she was running.

Although, last time I tried running with my iPod my earphones just fell out :(

"Investigators searched a townhouse Monday about a mile from the park where neighbors say Gardner's mother and stepfather lived, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported."

Was this where the grandmother lived or is this new info?

That's the house I posted a map near the home of by Westwood Elementary School. It was probably around 12-1 am last night that I put a map up. It's near Matinal in Westwood if you look on my map and the area is marked (I'm not going to put the exact address at this point since that's not been posted in any articles yet)

"Now police have arrested John Albert Gardner after police linked him to Chelsea King through hard physical evidence.
We are hearing possibly DNA, and also hearing that her clothes have been found and there is a water search taking place at this time. While the police are saying there is still hope they will find Chelsea alive, they are considering rape and murder charges for John Gardner."

More clothes than just her undergarments?

~snip~

According to court records in Gardner’s previous conviction, Gardner saw the victim and a 14-year-old friend waiting for a school bus on March 16, 2000, and he offered them a ride. Both girls accepted the offer, but the younger girl also decided to go with Gardner to watch movies at his home.

Gardner started giving the 13-year-old a massage and kissing her as the two were watching “Patch Adams” alone in his townhouse. He then picked her up, placed her on the couch and began rubbing himself against her genital area.

The girl protested, but Gardner persisted, according to the documents.

He brought her upstairs to a bedroom where he got on top of her and continued rubbing and touching her. He also tried to take her pants and underwear off, despite her objections.

Eventually, Gardner said, “You know what, I can’t take this anymore,” and hit the girl repeatedly in the face.

“He had his hand on my mouth and I couldn’t breath(e), and I got pretty fuzzy after he hit me, and I’m not sure if I blacked out,” the girl testified during a preliminary hearing, which is usually the first opportunity prosecutors have to present witnesses in a criminal case.

Wearing only one shoe on and holding her pants up, she was eventually able to run out the door to a neighbor’s house across the street.

Gardner got into his vehicle and drove away. He was found at a nearby gas station and arrested. Gardner told police he had picked the girl up that morning and dropped her off in front of her apartment complex at 8:40 a.m. He claimed he was innocent and blamed the victim’s mother for the beating.

Not necessarily - when you get further back from the park and onto the trails and by the lake there is very limited and spotty cell reception.

If people stay nearer the park or road they tend to keep cells, but further back she'd not have had reception at all, so it's not uncommon.

My mistake. I read that to say they searched a house a mile away from where the parents lived. I guess that's what I get when I get so anxious about all of this and read quick.

My best friends daughter is a runner. I just called her. She runs with her car key tied to her shoe lace. I asked her why not a cell phone or an Ipod.....she said no iPod as it is not safe to not be able to hear your surroundings. And no cell phone as she has dropped several and broke them, lost one...not worth it. She said she does carry pepper spray and a whistle attached to a little clip on her shorts. She also said she doesn't run alone....EVER.

Riley, Thank you so much for that infomation. That now makes since as to why her ipod and phone were in her car. Looking at this guy's mugshot and how big he was. I don't think a cellphone would have helped her. SAdly
