Sutter Health staff use a security system that reads a personal access card and fingerprints to enter and exit buildings. According to records presented into evidence, the first time the card issued to Garcia was used the morning of October 5 was at 10:05 a.m.

Horst questioned two of Garcia coworkers who had gone to lunch with him on numerous occasions. Both men testified that most of the time when they went to lunch they took Garcia's car. They said the back seat was usually filled with items like newspapers and his child’s soccer gear. They said they usually had to put the items in the trunk. The witnesses said the trunk was often filled with "junk."

your welcome!! ;)

If Christi's parents win the wrongful death and they tell him they will wave it for her body, and then he does! I think their timing is off though. It would be more effective if it came after his guilty verdict.

agree - I believe they SHOULD wait - but if I recall correctly this civil suit isn't going to trial until March '07!

Testimony in the murder trial of Mario Garcia revealed that forensic Web sites were visited on Garcia's laptop computer two days before he was arrested for the murder of Christie Wilson.

Prosecutor Garen Horst questioned Detective Robert Swanson of the Placer County Sheriff's Department on Thursday. Swanson conducted a forensics analysis on Garcia's laptop computer. That analysis revealed several Web sites were visited on Garcia's computer on October 12, 2005.

Testimony in the Mario Garcia murder trial on Monday focused on evidence found in Garcia's car. Prosecutors say it ties Garcia to Wilson. Defense attorneys are trying to show it might have been tainted.

Under questioning from the proscecution, a Placer County Sheriff's Department evidence technician testified that part of the backseat of Garcia's car tested positive for blood. However, testimony did not reveal whom the sample belonged to.

There remains a discrepancy in how murder suspect Mario Garcia received multiple scratches to his face, arms and torso for which he sought medical treatment the day after Christie Wilson disappeared.

During Monday morning testimony in a Sacramento courtroom, Sylvia Callow, a nurse with UC Davis Medical Center's Auburn clinic, testified that she met with Garcia Oct.6, 2005.

"He said he fell out of a tree (Oct. 5, 2005)," she said. "He had multiple scratches on his face, which was swollen."

When questioned by prosecutor Garen Horst about Garcia's demeanor she replied, "He was upset."

Lawyers in the murder trial of Mario Garcia once again focused on Garcia’s white Toyota Camry Tuesday. The front passenger door was submitted as evidence.

Placer County Sheriff investigators found a hair lodged in the door's handle. DNA tests later determined that hair was that of Christie Wilson.
~snip~
Defense Attorney David Dratman asked Tammy Harris a series of questions about the process she went through to collect evidence from Garcia's car.

Dratman asked Harris to demonstrate how she removed the hair from the door handle when collecting evidence from the car. Harris testified she used a pair of disposable tweezers to slide the hair out of the handle. The hair was then placed in a Petri-dish.

That picture showed abrasions under Garcia’s left eye and a scratch on his right cheek.

The prosecution contends Garcia got the scratches during a struggle with Wilson. Garcia said he got the scratches after falling out of a tree. However, a doctor told one of the lead detectives in the case that Garcia’s injuries were not consistent with a fall and looked more like someone had clawed his face.
~snip~
The trial is concluding its fourth week. Judge Larry Gaddis told the jury Thursday that the trial appears to be ahead of schedule. The prosecution is expected to wrap up its case by November 2 at the latest. The defense will then start to call its witnesses to testify.

Scratches on Mario Garcia's body were consistent with a struggle as opposed to falling from a tree, according to a medical expert with expertise in family violence injuries.

Dr. Connie Mitchell testified Tuesday in the murder trial of Mario Garcia. Garcia is accused of killing 27-year-old Christie Wilson.

The lead detective in the Mario Garcia Murder trial took the stand Wednesday afternoon and quickly sparks began to fly in the courtroom. Detective Don Murchison with the Placer County Sheriff’s Department testified that he is a former narcotics officer and has had specific training on rave and date rape drugs. He told jurors Wilson showed signs and symptoms consistent with date rape drugs. He said those symptoms were "mood wings, upset stomach, diarrhea, slurring, and a general sleepy appearance."

The very mention of date rape drugs was met with strong objections by Garcia’s defense attorney. "There’s no evidence your honor that anyone took a date rape drug," challenged Ron Peters. But Murchison was allowed to continue.

He testified that another symptom of date rape drugs such as "the ones Mr. Garcia had done research on" include black outs.

Give Garcia sodium pentathal and make him say where Christie is. Along with Rollings execution there is good reason to give these creeps drugs to allow for the victims to be found. It can't always be about them and their comfort.

At a certain point, the victims of crime have to be heard way above the perp. I understand we all are protected by the constitution but we are seeing way too many loopholes in every crime and this allows the crimes to continue.

toally agree with ya concernedperson!

I found this in my local papaer - the timeline for Mario Garcia's whereabouts per his cell records and surveillance tapes:

Oct 4, 2005:
5:25pm - Mario emails his supervisor. He was going to have some "tequila." {my comment: what the flick? why do THAT??}
6:40pm - outgoing call from Garcia's cell phone traced to a tower near the Thunder Valley Casino.
7:07pm - a second outgoing call from Garcia's cell phone traced to a tower near the Thunder Valley Casino
11:27pm - Garcia is seen on a casino video surveillance tape with his arm around Christie Wilson as the two gambled. Garcia reportedly showed no sign of injury to his face.
**
Oct 5, 2005:
1:13am - Garcia and Wilson are seen leaving the Thunder Valley casino on the surveillance tape.
1:19am - Garcia's white Toyota Camry is seen on the surveillance tape leaving the casino parking lot.
{me: wow - that leaves him 6 minutes to "hit", "punch", or "whatever" to Christie and put her in the back seat of his car... or front passenger seat?}
2am - Garcia tells detectives he was back at his Auburn home.
{me: that is about 40 minutes... it takes me to get to my home from my work about a 20 minute drive... I'll have to find out how "far" his house on Florence Court is from my house here in Auburn - I'll let you know...}
7:51am - The Lone Star cell phone tower, near Lone Star Road, near Garcia's home indicates he placed a call from the area.
7:52am to 9:15am - Multiple calls were made from Garcia's cell phone from differing towers in the Auburn area along Hghwy 49. The phone use indicates movement heading south.
{me: just re-reading the article about this timeline - and it says:
Sometime between then (2am) and 10:07am when he was at his office, he has said he was injured while trimming a tree on his property. However, calls from his cell phone indicate that he was traveling in and around the Auburn area and near Sacramento between 7:52 and 9:15am}
10:07am - garcia arrives at work. Co-workers noticed scratches on his face and an injury to his eye. He said he had an encounter on his tractor with a tree limb. Garcia told a nurse at UC Davis medical Center Oct 6 that he fell out of a 15-foot tree on his property Oct 5.
{me: so he was driving his tractor between 7:51 and 9:15am down highway 49 while talking on his cell phone and ran into a tree branch?? LOL! sure dude! :furious:

I SHOULD have gone to the courthouse today - taking today and tomorrow off - as my younger bro from SoCal is driving up! But just didn't get my 🤬🤬🤬🤬 together fast enough this morning! Proably no court tomorrow, eh?

High-profile attorney Robert Blasier, known for his association with the O.J. Simpson murder trial, has joined the defense counsel in the murder case against Mario Garcia.

Blasier is considered an expert in DNA evidence including cross-examination of prosecution experts.

~snip~

Jurors were excused early Monday. When court resumes on Wednesday jurors are expected to hear testimony from Department of Justice criminalists who will testify on evidence collected and DNA analysis.

Garcia is being held on $3 million bail and is being housed at the Sacramento County Jail throughout the trial, which is expected to continue for at least two more weeks.

Sounds like the pros is almost done.....think Thursday is their planned finish date. Then what to expect from the defense? Will MG actually take the stand and in turn stand on his previous statements that they parted ways in the parking lot?? Blasier will try to spin down the dna results but still....I just can't see how MG will take the stand in his own defense. I'm secretly hoping there is a plea available in exchange for info on where Christie can be located but MG is a gambler so I reckon he'll bluff and take it all the way. I read somewhere that the Garcia's home is on the market.....

I thought a law suit was filed to prevent the wife from selling the home...

I appreciate you keeping us up-to-date on this Chico. I'm in Sacto and I hear very little on this trial. News 10 site sometimes has updates... but not many.

Bloodstains found in murder defendant Mario Garcia's car could have been caused by blunt force trauma to a victim, according to an expert witness.

Ricci Cooksey, a senior criminalist with the Sacramento office of the California Department of Justice took the stand Wednesday during week six of the Garcia murder trial.

Cooksey testified that he located about four stains on the rear seat of the defendant's white Toyota Camry.

Whose blood it is has not been entered into evidence, however, prosecutor Garen Horst told jurors in his opening statements that blood and other stains in the car have been determined to belong to Christie Wilson, the woman Garcia is accused of murdering on or about Oct. 5, 2005.

Thursday, Judge Larry Gaddis told the jury the prosecution has only two more people to call before they rest their case. The defense will then take over. It could be a rather short presentation, if the evidentiary phase is expected to conclude by next Thursday. There is no court on Fridays.

Blasier is really reaching! If he is trying to say that the tiny blood stains were "planted". Then there are 2 obvious questions. Why would you plant spatters so tiny that they might go undiscovered?? And where in the world would the "planter" of such blood have obtained blood from the missing, and presumed dead, Christie Wilson after her disappearance??? DUH!
