Was Garcia ever prosecuted for this woman's rape? I wonder if he kept anything of Christie's.

Nanandjim,

I might be a little wrong here, but seems I read during this case that he was caught for that rape way back, but pled to a lesser charge...maybe did a little jail time for the lesser charge. I believe the jury in the Christie Wilson trial were not allowed to hear about this previous sexual assault on his record.

I stand to be corrected if I've mixed this up with someone/something else.

That is really creepy that he was carrying around the watch of his rape victim after all of those years! I'll bet he has something of Christys that he has hidden away and planned to carry around after the heat had died down.

I'm so glad that he got 57 years. That means that he will never get out of prison. Good job jury.

I bet that he also kept a souvenir from Christie. Perhaps, he kept her watch or a ring or keychain. It's amazing that perps used to get away with the crime if the body couldn't be found. Now, they can be prosecuted and convicted even if the body is not found. I hope that someday he will tell where Christie can be found. However, I'm not holding out hope. I still think that his wife and son should be ashamed for covering for this man.

The man convicted of killing Christie Wilson, if his sentence holds, will likely die in prison.

For the first time, he wants to tell what he says is his story. From behind bars Mario Garcia speaks exclusively to CBS13 News.

"I am very sorry that Christie Wilson is missing but I don't know where she's at. I don't have the answers for where she went. I just find myself being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Garcia.

And now he's doing time for a murder Mario Garcia has always said he didn't commit.

In an exclusive cbs interview 48 Hours puts it to him point blank, the question we'd all like to ask, did he kill Christie Wilson?

“No I had nothing to do with her disappearance," said Garcia.

I don't ever expect a confession outta him.......especially not before his appeals have run out.

you are SO right, Chico! I too, don't think he will EVER confess... unfortunately for her mother & step-dad... :(

CBS13 takes you inside the home of convicted killer Mario Garcia, where his wife breaks her silence and tells us how she plans to set her husband free. Garcia family says they used to live a normal life.

You won't find much shade these days under the giant trees that stand in front of this auburn home.

But predictably, you will find a woman who's standing by her man.

Jean Garcia says she has no idea what happened to Christie Wilson.

Also - I wanted to mention that the news keeps saying that the 48 Hours Mystery starts at 10pm Pacific time - but I find that it starts at 9pm -!! So check your "info" on tv - not sure why the difference??!! Will be watching this!

Thanks for the warning because I don't want to waste my time watching this woman. Sorry, but she must be an idiot. Where does she think her husband was until the wee hours of the morning? What does she think happened to the car liner of his trunk? Why was Christie's hair found in his car? I forgot--did they also find some of her blood in his car?

Does she mention why he had a "souvenir" from the woman he raped years before?

I guess that her husband was her sole means of support. If he weren't, I can't really see anyone being so blind. I mean, this takes "Stand by your man" to an entire new level.

Yeah, me either. I read the print but didn't bother to watch the video. I'm just not interested in her problems and how she plans to free her husband.

The Garcias tried to pull some kind of race card before/during the trial. He being hispanic and her of asian descent. I had no idea what her "roots" were and I figure unless you saw her in person or in the news no one else woulda either. I found out by the coverage of their complaints. It matters not a whit imo.

I'll attempt to watch the show but if it's all about him and his perceptions then I'll just have to switch. I realize we need to hear both sides and a jailhouse interview is a catch for the reporter but it kinda burns my buns to give this 🤬🤬🤬 airtime.

it's on now, and is covering the nite she disappeared, talking to her friends, boyfriend, etc

definitely an interesting show! My huz thinks the boyfriend did it... he kinda believes Garcia... I tried to tell him about the hair, AND blood!! He says - hair could have stuck on Mario's sleeve, when he got home had to get something from trunk, plop goes her hair... yes, but the blood? can't explain - like garcia couldn't... :o said boyfriend could have been waiting in the parking lot by her car - but then they would have him on video driving in or out - no??!! I believe they have the right person in jail! :behindbar and I couldn't get those videos to play for me - kept skipping and starting - and I just gave up!!

I watched it too. Parts seemed to be from the previous show but the new stuff was interesting, especially the jurors. One spoke of "so much evidence" they had to consider and I still feel they came to right conclusion.

If a third party intercepted Christie at the parking lot it can not explain Christie's dna and hair in three to four seperate locations in MG's car. That is not simple transfer. I don't recall any of the evidence coming from the drivers seat which could infer simple transfer. She didn't go back in the casino for her cell phone and she didn't go to her car yet her dna is all over and in MG's car and she remains missing since that point in time. The ex girlfriend of MG told of how she was pushed in his car and I think the same coulda happened to Christie. Overpowered and pushed to the floor with a gun in her face. That would explain why no passenger was seen in the video as the car left the parking lot a few minutes later. imo of course lol

Chico - I just read to my Huz what you said above - and he is still a 'little' doubtful - but I believe ya!! LOL!

It's ok if he's a "little doubtful". The jurors weren't though! :woohoo:

  • #618
yes, Chico - that is ALL that counts!! They got it right!

To me, there was overwhelming evidence. Where did he get his injuries which coincided with Christie's disappearance? And, what time was it that he got home in the wee hours of the morning? Plus, how about his bizarre excuses for taking off of work that week??

I do not believe in coincidences. This guy murdered Christie. I also believe that he murdered his girlfriend and her mother by driving that car into the water.

This guy thought that he could get away with it again. Thank God that he didn't.

Nanandjim,
I feel the same way. Not only did this slimeball kill Christie but I have no doubt that he killed his other girlfriend and her mother. What an evil man he is.
