This is getting ridiculous. They keep rewarding this killer, giving him exactly what he craves -- publicity, attention and fame. They're basically saying he is worth $1.1M to the LAPD.

Either ask him to go on Anderson Cooper to have a heart-to-heart where he can spill his guts and seize and arrest him on the show, or ignore and treat him like the nobody that he is.

If the LAPD acts as if this perp is a nobody -- which he is -- then Dorner will definitely do something drastic to show himself. Remember he doesn't like ot be disrespected.

Of course, his actions may involve violence when he reveals himself in public, but hey, he wanted to go out with a boom on a suicide-by-cop front, so he's going to do what he's going to do anyway.

LAPD wants this to end as quickly as possible. Remember, there are a significant amount of people whose lives are on hold waiting for it to be "safe" for them to resume their jobs, schooling and normal routines again. I don't think the amount of money means he is an important individual as much as it is a tool to get what they (LAPD) want....this creep off the streets.

I, too, find the amount of the reward a bit much, but it may be coming from those that are in fear for their lives.

I don't think giving this murderer/criminal any airtime is a good idea. I doubt he would even fall for that. He's not going to make it alive, he will either realize he is now a common criminal of the worst sort, a murderer, and kill himself, or his delusions continue and he is still a threat until he is found which will end in suicide by cop.

That said, there is nothing, whatsoever, in his piece that advocates or condones violence. He is simply describing his experience of being black in the LAPD. Moreover, he explicitly admonishes Dorner for murdering innocents and appeals to him to stop killing.

I say this as a Man who experienced the same pain, betrayal, anger, suffering, litigation and agony that you did in many ways, Only I didn't get Fired. I just choose to go a different route. My heart still suffered that same shock, I was still left to try and put the pieces back together. The disbelief that people could conspire and cause you to loose something you loved so dearly was still there. I lost my Career, I lost my Family, I lost my Dignity, I lost my Trust...But I am here now to hopefully one day see change...Bro, Don't kill anymore Innocent people. Your point has been made. Clearly. They know you mean business, The whole world knows. Refrain from any further wrong doing and do what you must to salvage your Soul. Whatever that means to you. I'm not saying this Joe's going to go out and terrorize the city. I'm saying he's proclaiming his grievances against the PD in a manifesto the same way Dorner did. Yes, to me, he's a copycat since Joe posted his manifesto AFTER he heard about Dorner's.

Yep, I can envision other future copycats with grievances against the police, the state, the government, etc. making terrorist threats against a city in order to get the media coverage, notoriety, and wanted posters with exuberant reward amounts. This is like that Dark Knight movie. Hold an entire city hostage until the "system" apologizes for its wrongdoings and annihilates itself.

In fact, the movie may have been the source of Dorner's inspiration.

We've all agreed, judging from Dorner's manifesto, that he wants to go suicide-by-cop after he avenges himself with as many people on his to-kill list as possible. Currently there's no way to scout him out. Whatever reconnaisance efforts the LAPD and military are using is not working.

LA can be living this nightmare for years on end...

The only thing I can see that will make Dorner reveal himself is if LE treats Dorner like a nobody and that'll really tick him off, or LE sets up a prey -- someone who Dorner either wants to talk to badly like Anderson Cooper since he already sent him a package with his medal in it and AC is a hero to him, or someone whom Dorner really hates and wants to kill -- perhaps the LAPD captain who fired him?

I doubt anyone wants to volunteer so it's best we treat Dorner like a nobody. There's no telling what Dorner will do, but we know that he professed he didn't care about his life and did not intend to be alive soon. So either way, there will be carnage. I understand we don't want any more lives taken, but we really have to take the chance in order to capture this arrogant lunatic.

I feel like the people who are attracted to the military and law enforcement have a particular personality and others with that same personality recognize it, so that's how he got in there. Frankly, a lot of them are pretty power-trippy and controlling.

That same personality can go really bad in anyone, so that's where he is today.
