Only one. Despite numerous shots fired.

LE has "accidentally" shot at (hitting two of them) least three people. Two ladies delivering newspapers...

Police seeking Dorner opened fire in a second case of mistaken identity

Torrance police say the man was driving a pickup resembling the fugitive's. The incident happened just after the LAPD fired on women delivering newspapers nearby.

I agree JBean.. remember Eric Rudolph he survived in the mountains for 5 years before he got caught by accident. With CD'S training he will go down with a fight and probably a bad one.

Eric Rudolph also had a community of people the helped to hide him and provided him with supplies, and he also had a very dense forest that he was familiar with to hide in. I doubt Dorner has any of these things.

In the manifesto Dorner alludes to weapons he might have (short-barreled rifles/AR-15s; handguns; noise suppressors) and makes this claim, which is the reason for LAPD's statement that he may have surface-to-air missles and .50 caliber bullets:
Do not deploy airships or gunships. SA-7 Manpads will be waiting. As you know I also own Barrett .50′s so your APC are defunct and futile.

If Dorner has the Tactical training he says and if his security clearance was really that high.. Not a lot of LE have that.. My son-in-law is military and he has high clearance and he trains survival 30 days at a time out in the middle of no where with limited resources. He said it is worst than being in Iraq. I do know a lot of LE are ex military but I wonder how many have that type of Tactical traing. and I see the few guns he mentioned in his manifesto. And if he has a MANPAD that is really scary. JMO

I think one lady was hit twice and the other was cut on broken glass but not shot. Fwiw

Is dorner trained to be a loner or in a military unit? Also, he seemed a little bit like a momma's boy in the manifesto. If he lived at home quite a bit and depended on others, he may not be equipped to survive very well even if he was trained. Plus he's wacked.

I lived in the area where he was hiding.. People from Western NC had bumper stickers that said Run Eric Run.. But to my knowledge it was never proven he had helped. He did still a lot of food from homes when the owners where not around. I installed dead bolts on my doors during that time..

But,IMO the 1 mil is specifically for those that may be assisting him in fighting the " good fight". there are strangers looking at him as a folk hero so he may have friends too that are following his twisted logic. Hopefully they will like money more than him and his mission.

It is and I think his ability to garner this much attention and fear is high priority for him. They have reopened the investigation into his dismissal and complaints and the results will be posted publicly. He has The attention of everyone and that is what he wants.

But it's like he only thought half way through the problem. so what if he is cleared of wrong doing, he can never get his job back now.

What I cannot reconcile with respect to him still being on the hill is why would he announce his location by torching the truck and then stick around? He Could control when the car went up in flames thus revealing himself and IMO only did it once he secured alternate transportation. It was probably not his plan to crack an axel but he had plenty of time to come up with plan b. he torched it to destroy evidence, but once he set that thing on fire his location was officially revealed and he wouldn't stick around to see who showed up. It does not take long to get down the mountain.

I initially toyed with the idea he was in sniper mode and may harm those that came to investigate - but the time for that has come and gone.

I never thought of that. Good point.
