Buying The SCUBA gear,,HMMMmm....2 days before shooting, was planned. He knows there's a Camera recording him ,So he wants to be seen @ that place @ that time. Interesting . Creating an "Anti" alibi .Going under water? or Going in a Smoky place?

I'm still wondering what he was doing up in BB in the first place. Is one of his targets retired up there? If he didn't reach his destination, I wonder where he was going.

And it still doesn't make sense to me why he torched his truck. A fire up in BB calls a lot of attention. Had he just left the truck where it was, he would have had a lot more time to get out of there or do whatever it was he planned on doing. JMO

I think he torched his truck to get all of LE up to the BB area because he was going to be long gone out of that area by the time they found it. The more LE is looking for him in BB the less manpower there will be looking for him elsewhere.

I also think that what occurred in Corona and in Riverside wasn't his original plan. I think once he was spotted and cornered in Corona his entire plan shifted.

And how did they know he was there? He used his card? They weren't checking for scuba equipment purchases were they? So he probably did.

I think the guy is just plain nuts.

Sources I read stat that he paid in cash and had a friendly conversation with the cashier.. I'm going to post my link mods if it is against TOS take it off
http://www.tmz.com/2013/02/11/lapd-manhunt-christopher-dorner-scuba-gear-sports-chalet-torrance-murders/

the man who runs the site is a lawyer so I tend to believe what is said on that site.. but take it down if need be true..

maybe the employee remembers that man and recognized him and brought it up to his bosses.. they found the video and contacted authorities... it seems plausible that it took the employee some time to remember..

OR... maybe they were investigating the boat part of his spree and decided to check out the shops that sell that type of equipment since they knew he had experience and tried to take a boat..

The Sports Chalet he went to was in Torrance. It is about 2 miles from the street where the two women delivering newspapers were shot by the police.
And, because I just now took the time to look it up, I always thought the other police shooting that morning was 'right around the corner' but it was in fact at a location almost 3 miles away from the newspaper ladies shooting.

I just thought it was interesting.

Something I'm not getting...

From this link (emphasis added, mine), it states:
Authorities Sunday morning had six cars protecting Capt. Phil Tingirides, who chaired a disciplinary panel that stripped Dorner of his badge.

Yet, from this link (emphasis added, mine), it states:

A wallet containing Dorner's identification and an LAPD detective's badge was found near the San Diego airport, police said.

And yet from the the June 2008 intradepartmental correspondence, Dorner was a Police Officer II, not a detective.

So... question of the day. Whose badge was it and how did he obtain it?

They are firing at people who have no resemblance to the 250+ lb black man. I think it's safe to say they want him dead.

I think that they want to live more than they want him dead. I definitely think that they want to find him, but not necessarily to kill him. I'm sure that they are extremely stressed by having to live in fear. I also think that it will be very difficult for him to surrender without getting shot because any sudden movement on his part will probably be met with a barrage of bullets.

I think "stripped him of his badge" is more of a term used than an actual course of action. The turn in your badge scene is made for movies. The probably asked him for his badge and he told them to stick it up their backsides. This guy has something cooking.

Great catch, Shadow ! If the press has it right, he must have stolen a badge...not surprising , considering he claims to have been stalking his targets and their families!

If anyone read my post #705, this right here confirms what I was saying.

Dorner is no man doing any good for black people at all. He's just making it harder. And he's making life harder for everyone

But it is all for himself! That all he cares about is HIMSELF.

People who are trying to foster and blow up race issues( on. either side.) are just making this whole situation worse.

Now I understand...

From the affidavit

The US Marshals have been tracking the movements of JY a known associate of Dorner's.
JYs relative also owns property in Big Bear, California-that is also very close to where his truck was found.

All he has to do to surrender without being shot is to put down his weapons and follow the police officers orders. If he points gun at anyone or has a hostage whose life is in danger, he knows they have to shoot to kill before he shoots them.

I'm sick of all of the police-bashing on this thread. The mods have warned over and over to stop, to no avail. Now it's practically every third post, way too many to alert.

This thread is about a manhunt for a crazed killer. To say that cops are going to kill him in sight or that he can't surrender without being killed anyway is disrespectful of LE and just plain wrong.

This guy wants to die but instead of killing himself he wants to force a cop to do it. He knows how it works. He wants to die claiming its someone else's fault because he takes responsibility for nothing.

I'm told by a police chief I know very well that if he fired someone they absolutely do get the badge back, no exceptions. He was probably called in while on duty so that he would have the badge and any police ID and equipment on his person. Badge would be confiscated on the spot. If there was some circumstance in which he was not in uniform when fired, all final pay would be withheld until the badge was turned in.

MOO

Besides, Dorner was never a detective. That badge couldn't be his.

Correction...they WERE firing....several days ago when he first surfaced and shot at 4 police officers, killing one. Give them a break. I think it's safe to say they want him captured.
