No more live pictures from the scene. Could compromise the situation. CNN

We don't know... but they do appear to think he's watching the news.
Media is moving away, I think they are asking them to STOP showing the cabin.
They were showing WIDE shots to avoid showing detail, but that doesn't appear to be good enough.
Yup, media copters hovering over the scene increases risks for officers, who would then need to ensure their shots do not hit bystanders... or in this case, byflyers.

Barton Flats area, for those who like to map stuff. Hwy 38, Glass Rd, and Seven Oaks Rd. in that general area. It is south of Big Bear Lake.

cbs2 has on the ground coverage - they are saying one of their reporters got caught in gun fight and is being moved to safety - they said he is ok

Isn't it more important not to endanger safety of the police than for us to know all the bloody details?

Saying prayers that Dorner does not shoot/kill anyone else.

PS: Darkman, please leave scanner info in the scanner thread. Problems bringing it here.

Well, if he is armed he might be inspired to take pot shots at the helos.

Or, LEOs are going to cut him off from seeing how LE is fanned out.

You would think that the news media would have figured that one out on their own, sigh.

Reporters and LE were walking by Dorner every single day. Right across the street.

Well we all reached the same conclusion for sure.

I think this is the most extraordinary case of suicide by cop I have ever heard. :(

I hope and pray that there is no more loss of life.

ABC 7 moved back, we are getting scenes now of where Hwy38 is turning away traffic.

Media heads are our bane and boon. I will admit, listening to these guys/gals, sets my teeth on edge.

Wasn't LE checking all the cabins?

No, only if someone answered the door or there was forced entry.
People were calling and saying they couldn't get a hold of people... and LE said we aren't checking cabins unless there is forced entry. :twocents:

They said they checked 400 cabins but they also got lost and went back to some repeatedly.

Wasn't LE checking all the cabins?

If nobody answered the door, I don't know what more they would be able to do...I wouldn't think they could kick in the door and go in?
