Fire is still burning. They are going to let it burn itself out. The entire house is surrounded by LE.

  • #162
He may have started the fire, or the things they threw in may have started it.
I'm not convinced a sniper could get a shot... he should have known to stay away from the windows.

  • #163
If a sniper got him how did the fire start? A sniper would likely confirm a kill, so why burn the place down and cause a long wait?

Yes, that makes no sense.

  • #164
LE did check the cabins closest to where the truck burned first, so if Dorner was tracking around watching the search, he would know where to go where LE wouldn't bother him - since they weren't retracing their steps unless calls were made from those residences....

We have confirmation from the Los Angeles Police Department the ex-cop from LA was
shot and killed by a local sheriff's department sniper.

.@NBCLA has NOT reported on air or online anything relating to condition of suspect in the Big Bear standoff, contrary to others' tweets.

LinasK and others were right as far as him still being up there. I really thought he had made off the mountain. I gave him more credit than he deserved.

  • #168
Well kind of looks like he won't be going to trial.

news in new york is saying that the cabin is on fire.

the cops set it on fire?
oh my god i'd be really pissed if i was the owner.
really pissed and they burned my belongings just to get that dorner guy.

Because your belongings are that much more important than safety of police officers.

In re: short sleeves...

It's Southern California-cold, not anywhere-that-understands-cold-cold. LOL. It's weird, but we can have several feet of snow up there, and still spend the day in jeans and a tee shirt. I've skied there in short sleeve shirts, and, even after falling, as long as I didn't stand in the shade for too long in a wet shirt/jeans, I was just fine.

It's hard to explain what Southern California cold is to folks who know what "real" cold is. This is not it. I've been colder skydiving than I have been skiing.

I've been outside the state when it *is* cold - New York, Maine, Connecticut, Colorado, Washington, and even parts of Oregon. That is "real" cold. SoCa is kinda like "cold-lite". We pretend it's cold, and for those who don't know what real cold is it feels cold, but it's really not.

Thanks, I'm in Florida so anything below 50 is freezing to me. Lol

And to see snow and never lived there, I get the shivers just looking at it!

I'm seeing different places that Christopher Dorner is dead. Been seeing it for about 5 minutes now. FWIW.

The people of southern California can breath a sigh of relief now ... it looks like this madness is over :great:

RIP to those who lost their lives in this senseless necessary act of violence :(

Yeah going there was last ditch/stupid. Guess he forgot all his special police/military training and ran scared.

Highway 38 reopened to residents only.
