When Corey's father went to awaken him for work, Corey was missing. He had been a conscientious employee at the local casino, but didn't show up for work. He didn't take a vehicle, but seemed to have his wallet and ID.

According to the FB page set up by his parents, Cathy and Robert Abernathy of Willets, CA, Corey has been located:

"Help Find Corey Abernathy

Yesterday, 4/15/19, Corey called us. He is living in San Francisco in a sober house. Has been sober for 17 months. We cannot begin to describe the relief we now have knowing he is alive and well. Now to put back together our lives. Thank you to all who prayed and supported us and Corey."
