This is interesting, found in 1980 a young male wearing earrings dead in water, No info how he died but it's possible he was a transperson? I thought at first he was a female looking at the PM. This case will be interesting to follow,

Thank you!

I think he was just wearing an eating in the one ear. I'm going to guess, given the triangle shape, that there's a chance he was gay.

I could be wrong but I am assuming based on my age, this man did not identify as gay back in 1980. At that time, there was a saying regarding earrings in men, "Left is right, right is wrong." It was a way to be understood without being obvious. Not everyone understood the significance, especially the older generation. Having an earring to them simply meant they were odd, much like the "hippies with long hair" in the 1960's. I had friends who wore earrings in their right ear and were not gay men. That said, if he was familiar and accepting to that community, then him being a heterosexual was obvious to them.

I would be curious to know if his other ear was pierced. It does not mention clothing nor does it say he was nude. It is also possible, he was bisexual and chose to present himself differently depending on the situation he was in.

"The decedent was wearing a nearly triangular shaped earring in his left pierced left ear."

I have been really searching for this case and I only found one guy that really looks like the photo. 3876DMCA - Michael Charles Causley However, the timing does not match at all and he can be ruled out.
I first went off of the description and found some matches. I did find an individual with his left ear pierced but he went missing after this john doe was found. I have only been looking in California and will begin looking at other states. I am guessing this individual was over 17 and most likely was in college or lived away from home. I do think that it is possible this individual was gay and maybe family did not report him missing or not right away because they did not approve. This case seems very hard to find possibilities too and there is something off about it. I just keep getting a feeling like he was never reported missing, he changed his look, or something. Theres just too many questions.

also, the san diego bay is near different historic parks, a main airport, a zoo, and even sea world. I am starting to think this individual traveled to visit someone or something and just never returned. If he was found in the bay he could have been surfing or on a boat. There are endless possibilities here.

The coronado bridge is a place where people jump off to commit suicide. It's possible he jumped from the bridge.

I'm not able to see any specific dental info on this young man in Namus, however looking closely at the pm photo, he appears to possibly be missing his lateral incisors. If so, this is most likely congenital and only within ~ 2% of the population.

Oh HopeRains, really good catch and info on the teeth. I did not know that, very interesting. Personally, his teeth reminded me of Eddie Munsters hehehe.

I wish there was a bit more info on this guy.
