Heartbreaking. Prayers for his family and friends. The kids he schooled with will need support. (And of course his family).

So very sad.

Amateur opinion and speculation

That is a rest stop so often used on drives up to the mountains...it's so beautiful up there... thoughts go out to the family.
Yes, it is very beautiful and I know that rest stop well. Deepest sympathies to his family, how awful.

Condolences to the family, friends and community.

I know LE has stated they don't suspect foul play...are they treating this as an accident, medical episode or self harm?

I see from the placer county L.E page that there's a 🤬🤬🤬 set up for the family that's raised a fair bit, this lad was clearly loved by many.

RIP Dante

Oh no. This is terrible and tragic. I was so hopeful for him.

Condolences to his family and all his many friends. He was much-loved, known as cheerful and good.

Story below from CBS 13 Sacramento as community mourns the loss. By all accounts, Dante appeared to be well liked, respected and very active in school activities. The report indicates a full autopsy should be forthcoming next week. I thought it interesting the reporter included the below statement from the Placer Union High School District. I'm not sure if this is more from a liability standpoint by the school or questions the previous information provided that he was at that location collecting soil samples as part of a school project.

"The cause of Dante's death was not related to any school assignment."

Do we have no information on the cause of death? I'm a bit of a noob but isn't that public information except in particular circumstances? I suppose as he was a minor, that may be something to do with it. I don't wish to pry, but absent that info it's as concerning as it is tragic. Just awful. RIP Dante.

Only that there was no foul play suspected. Sometimes that's all we get. The area he was found was remote and wooded, I suspect he got lost and the elements took over. May he rest in paradise. MOO
