The “Missing Missing” Females Part I

siddal_delores.jpg

Dolores Siddal disappeared on August 23, 1961, after seeing Hugh M. Pfeaster to have an illegal abortion performed. Pfeaster confessed to her ‘accidental death’ due to a botched abortion, and claims to placed the remains in a ravine near Big Bear Lake. Searches have been unsuccessful and her remains have never been found.

What happens when a life filled with promise vanishes without a trace? I am reaching out to share my new book titled "Dee: The Silence Whispers."

For over three decades, I have been captivated by the mystery of Dee, a professional skater who vanished from the vibrant streets of Long Beach, California, in the 1960s. After years of relentless investigation into her disappearance, I have uncovered startling truths that remind me that some stories remain unfinished.

Dee is a gripping mystery that merges nonfiction with fiction, revolving around the true story of Dee and the issue of illegal abortions. She mysteriously vanished after leaving the Reno Room bar, seeking an abortion in 1961.

As I investigate the secrets surrounding Dee's disappearance, I uncover the city police corruption at its highest levels. Did she really go for an abortion on that day?

In "Dee," I invite readers to embark on a unique journey through the eyes of fictional characters navigating their emotions and dreams while uncovering startling truths about her disappearance on the fateful day, August 23, 1961.

What secrets will I uncover that could change everything?

<<After these convictions, he confessed that he had in fact performed the abortion on Siddall in his Long Beach apartment, and that she had accidentally died during the procedure. Pheaster said he put her remains in the trunk of his car and dumped the body in a deep ravine in the Lake Arrowhead-Big Bear Lake region in San Bernardino County.

Although he passed a lie detector test about his statement, searches of the area turned up nothing. He was subsequently convicted of participating in the 1974 kidnapping for ransom of a sixteen-year-old Palm Springs, California boy, the son of a multimillionaire. The boy's skeletal remains were found in 1977.>>

He was only charged with kidnapping, not murder. He had nothing to do with the abduction— he was only asked to check whether they dropped off the money, and the FBI saw him in the area. So he was charged for failing to rat out the person who did it.

Is Dee still alive? The book holds the answer, but every page seems to circle back to the same aching question. Pheaster and Dee—born the same year, classmates, teammates on the high school tennis court— shared a history that felt ordinary until the details started to fray. He sang at a low-lit bar where she worked, his voice threading through the smoke and laughter like a secret.
