GUILTY CA - Dr. William Ayres for child molestation, San Mateo, 2007 #2

  • #501
I am gobsmacked. From 1959-1985 patients at Children's Hospital in BOSTON were at risk from 3 men who have treated THOUSANDS of patients.

I urge the hospital to have transparency regarding these physicians...I pray that they opt to discover and treat the now adults who were abused by these doctors. Oh my Goodness...I am going to be sick.

If anyone here has any ideas on how to help find Ayres victims in Boston, you can email Trapellar, a contributor to the Ayres blog.

They're out there, and we need to find them!

Update on Ayres' mental competency: There was supposed to be a report from a new doctor delivered today on the status of Ayres' mental competency. As the William Ayres blog had predicted - the report was not ready.

There will be another hearing on March 4, 2011 for an update on the report by the doctor. If he doesn't find Ayres to be competent, there will be no trial to determine Ayres' mental competency. Ayres will have to submit to either some bogus out- patient treatment or go to a state mental hospital. No one is buying that he will be forced to do the latter.

Basically, we believe it's not just Ayres' lawyer who is playing out the clock but the San Mateo District Attorney's office and San Mateo County - who stand to face a whole slew of lawsuits if Ayres is ever convicted in a criminal court - who are happy to play out the clock as well.

www.williamayreswatch.blogspot has some choice words for the San Mateo DA's office yesterday.

A poster over at the William Ayres blog suggested that someone should start a petition to have the Ayres trial moved out of San Mateo County and have it tried by the Attorney General's office. As the San Mateo DAs office doesn't appear to give a rat's *** about the Ayres case, I think the petition is a very good idea. Thoughts?

Doron Weinberg, who represented Dr. William Ayres in the first criminal trial (he also represented Phil Spector in his murder retrial) whines about the jurors in the Ayres case in an article on Law Technology News: "Barry Bonds Trial May Test Tweeting Jurors"
http://www.law.com/jsp/lawtechnologynews/PubArticleLTN.jsp?id=1202481944364&slreturn=1&hbxlogin=1

Excerpt:
"Weinberg sees a big difference between internet postings and the traditional news stories a juror might have seen in the paper or on TV: accuracy.

During Phil Spector's trial, Weinberg said, one blogger seemed to be "planting" damaging material online -- such as information about an alleged confession -- at critical junctures. And when he represented Dr. William Ayres in a child molestation case in San Mateo, he grew concerned that jurors were reading "vicious" blog posts by the families of Ayres' alleged victims.

While he was not able to prove juror misconduct in either case, he said the problems prompted him to bring it up with members of the bench and the bar and at the Northern District's conference last year, and to the Bonds defense team."

---

This is nonsense. I spoke to several jurors after the trial, and they weren't even aware of the blog's existence.

But during the Ayres trial. the blog's founder told me it was Weinberg and the prosecutor, Melissa Mckowan who were hitting the blog every few minutes during the trial. In fact, during jury deliberations, the wife of Doron Weinberg walked up to a man outside the courtroom and asked him if he was the one who had created the Ayres blog. The man said he was not. But then Weinberg's wife launched into a complaint about how the blog had incorrectly identified where they lived.

Believe--I'm curious. What "ranch" does Mel Levine operate? I can't seem to find it.

Did everyone note that Dr. Phillip Riback has recently pleaded guilty AFTER he lined up a whole cast of expert witnesses (Maggie Bruck, et al) to claim suggestibility in his patient witnesses on his second "go round". Where did Riback go to school? His poor victims and their families have been put through the wringer.

A great resource for those interested in following the fallout of the "suggestibility" camp:

IIRC, Dr. Levine would host patients at his farm in Chapel Hill, NC. I cannot easily lay my hands on the letter I wrote to the Medical Board of NC-in spite of surrendering his license, his website at the time referred to him as a Doctor and that he had patients. He also had a "contact us" section of his website that requested former patients contact him. His website, allkindsofminds.org, has since been radically changed.

Mel Levine was still pursuing speaking engagements at the time of my letter-some of those engagements were with schools. When other people, not me I assure you, contacted the schools to see if they were aware of his history and the investigation into the possibility of decades of abuse of his patients, they were horrified. As you can imagine.

Once I locate my letter, I will relate the specifics here-I cannot remember if he held seminars or what on his farm. It concerned me greatly.

MissIzzy- here is the link that detailed the information regarding his property in NC.

It has been taken down, I am not sure when that happened.

Believe09: that Mel Levine site has been down for at least six months, maybe more. Maybe the North Carolina Medical Board asked him to shut it down after they received complaints that he posted that he had done seminars at places where he never had.

My letter to the medical board concerned the website, I know. This doesnt mean that they requested it be taken down etc based upon it, but that was the issue I raised in my letter. It would make sense that he would at a minimum have had to make changes to it.

What a mess.

San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe tells a reporter that the FBI investigation into him is "Manufactured."

http://www.almanacnews.com/square/index.php?i=3&d=1&t=5542

Hmm. Wagstaffe should have done his homework before making such a silly statement.

We know of a number of people who have been personally interviewed by the FBI about the San Mateo DA's office.

Which is the manufactured part?

  • #515
The "manufactured" part is all in his head. The FBI investigation is for real.

  • #516
Well, let's speculate that his ship is sinking...good to know he is keeping his chin up.

Remember the news reports from a few weeks ago that the FBI is investigating San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe - (which has jurisdiction over the Ayres case) and his association with corrupt police officers, like Sheriff Greg Munks and his undersheriff Carlos Bolanos, who were arrested for entering a house of prostitution with underage girls in Vegas?
"
Someone has posted a Youtube video called "Atherton, California" that spoofs Wagstaffe getting upset about the FBI investigation.
