GUILTY CA - Dr. William Ayres for child molestation, San Mateo, 2007 #2

  • #541
Off-topic but related as Jason League, the Maryland prosecutor who was investigating Frontera told me a year ago that he had been looking at the William Ayres case for guidance as to how to proceed on the Fronera case:

Frontera had his license permanently revoked in May, 2010. Four months later in September 2010, Frontera registered his "Miguel Frontera M.D" website. The miquelfronteramd.net domain name is registered though an organization that hides the registry information so that you can't see it.

This might be O/T but it's something possibly related to Ayres. Last June 28th, I wrote post #52 on page 3 of Ayres thread Part 2 concerning the strange work of Wilhelm Reich:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5343783&highlight=ashland#post5343783

I have no idea why but something told me to go back and look into that some more. You'll notice that are a number of links in that post, one to an article concerning Tucson, AZ:

http://tucsoncitizen.com/paranormal/2009/11/03/ufos-orgasms-and-the-occult-the-tucson-connection/

I just reread that article and the comments under it. If you'll go to that link, you'll see a comment written on November 3, 2009 by a man with the initials MJB. Mr. B claims that he was abused by a Dr. Albert Duval in New Jersey in the 1950s. I believe 3 people comment that they are "survivors" of abuse related somehow to Reich.

I just did some research and found that Dr. Albert Duval was most definitely connected to Wilhelm Reich. I also found Dr. Duval's CV. I wanted those who are familiar with Ayres' history to look this over and see if it might be of any interest. Is there any crossover with any of the other men who we know to be abusers?

http://www.orgone.org/wr-vs-usa/wr40505de.htm

Dr. James DeMeo also left a long and angry comment at the Tucson article upholding Reich's work and stating emphatically that he did NOT promote pedophilia. I have no idea if Reich did or didn't. Dr. DeMeo maintains a Reichian retreat and lab just 10 miles above Ashland, OR, in a small mountain town called The Greensprings. Here's a link to info about that place and to seminars planned for this year:

http://www.orgonelab.org/

I fully realize that Duval's CV is on the Orgone Lab site but I thought his history might be of interest. And a link to more info on Reich:

http://www.orgone.org/

This statement concerns me, but then I'm admittedly a bit sensitive to comments like this:

"The sensual rights of Infants, Children, Adolescence, and Adults should include the right to feel your own body, to be gently touched by those whom love you, to express emotion, to love, to laugh, to cry, to sing, to play, to be self regulated without abuse, repression or intimidation...or violence." J. Orr 2002

And a link concerning "the sensual/sexual rights of infants and children":

http://www.orgone.org/infantchild/infantchild-aa-00a.htm

There's a review here of the book by Judith Levine, "Harmful to Minors: The Perils of Protecting Children from Sex". No connection to Mel Levine, is there?

This is the story of the commenter in the link above. I have to wonder how I come to stumble upon story after story like this:

http://wetgoddess.net/AuthorBio.html

This is the book author's biography and most definitely the same one who comments under the Tucson article, due to a number of facts.

ETA:

http://www.curezone.com/forums/fmp.asp?i=1204991

"....I would be very interested in hearing from you, particularly if you were a patient of Dr. Albert Duval, an orgonomist who practiced in New Jersey in the 1950's, Dr. Ellsworth Baker or Dr. Blasband...."

Any of these names ring a bell?

  • #545
I cannot explain why Dr. Reich seems to keep appearing in my research, but he does. I checked and a Dr. Blasband still practices in Sausalito, CA. His CV is here:

http://www.orgonomictherapy.com/reichian-therapist.htm

And:

A discussion by Reich about how common genital examinations were in the psychiatrist's office. He states, though, that he was just honest about it. Others were not. If you'll scroll down, you'll see that he mentions that about 2 dozen physicians began to admire him. I wonder who those men and women were:

http://books.google.com/books?id=Cq...&resnum=2&ved=0CB8Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

Lastly, personal childhood experiences with Reichian therapy:

http://www.rogermwilcox.com/Reich/personal.html (lots of details and names)

http://home.netcom.com/~rogermw2/Reich/others.html (more names)

Everyone might be curious as to why I'm posting these links. I can't say exactly. I just have this sense that Ayres and his "friends" somehow interconnect with some of the doctors mentioned in these recollections. Ayres certainly wasn't the only doctor out there who ordered children to disrobe and meted out abuse to their young bodies.

ETA: Another site with lots of names of doctors who subscribed to a "new" type of therapy for children in the 1950s:

What is it about California doctors and child molestation? The front page story in the San Jose Mercury News today is about Dr. Patrick Clyne, longtime chief pediatrician for abused and neglected children, who was fired for molestation allegations in Santa Clara County. Santa Clara County is right next door to San Mateo County, where Ayres practiced.

http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_17814259?source=most_viewed&nclick_check=1

Which reminds me: in 2009, I was informed by a former high ranking staffer in San Mateo County Children's Services that ANOTHER doctor who treated juveniles in Santa Clara County was under investigation. Haven't heard anything since.
My source says the police were investigating this doctor. Perhaps that's why he retired...

And has anyone heard anything about San Jose pediatrician Herman Hyatt? See second comment on this link below.

Just when I think that I can finally close up my children's early files, Mercyneal, you find something else that shakes me out of my complacence. I have two children, ages 21 and 23, who were placed with our family for adoption when they were 4 and 6. The younger child had TB as a toddler and had a good bit of medical care. They were born in Redwood City and lived all over San Jose. Both children were seen by psychiatrists for evaluations as both have DD and ID.

One of these children is currently trafficked and the other lives on the street. They were so tremendously troubled when they came to us. FWIW, they happen to be first cousins to two little guys we adopted from San Mateo and the county approached us about adoption.

Any idea if either of the doctors mentioned had a preferred victim profile?

I'll have to go digging again, I guess.

The story about Clyne is HORRIBLE. He's also a foster parent and allegations have been made for years. Once again, it sounds as if a doctor was put on a pedestal due to his "giving" nature and his own physical disabilities. What a hero...huh? Disgusting.

I feel almost ashamed of myself that I'm breathing easier due to the dates. My children came to us in March 1994 so most likely missed being sent to Clyne. But my heart just breaks for those vulnerable children who were seen by him.

All I can speak for is my own experience but I take issue with the statement below. My husband and I have parented behaviorally challenged children adopted from "the system" since 1988 and never once in all those years have we ever fielded an allegation about sexual abuse. We've had nine reports to DHS for a variety of issues but each one has been marked "unfounded". I know that many people report that children falsely report sexual abuse to punish a caregiver but I've honestly never ever dealt with it. Not even in the hundreds of families that I advocated for. I have a great tendency to believe the children when it comes to the accusation of sexual abuse.

From Mercyneal's Mercury News link:

"...They throw out allegations like a tin can, it's how they express their anger and hurt," said DH, president of the Santa Clara County Kinship, Adoptive & Foster Parent Association. DH's foster children have been Clyne's patients, and as a longtime caregiver specializing in behaviorally challenged young boys, she says she has been the subject of three allegations of physical abuse, all deemed unfounded. "That's par for the course when you work with hard kids," she said...."

Note that DH clearly states that she's been the subject of three allegation of physical abuse. That's a whole different ball game, folks.

Mercyneal--I honestly don't know what to think after reading the article about Clyne. I'd love to hear your take on this. The families are certainly circling the wagons in support (I recognize two names, FWIW). The children that Clyne cared/cares for ARE troubled children but I want to have definitive information about whether the earlier allegation was or was not recanted.

I'm very confused. He's been removed from his post with the county but still has hospital privileges? He's been investigated but not arrested. This just doesn't seem fair to anyone. If the man is abusing children, arrest him. If nothing holds up through a thorough investigation, move on, and don't ruin a man's reputation. A very very curious situation all around.

The Ayres blog has endorsed Michael Stogner for Supervisor in San Mateo County.

Stogner has said that if elected, the first thing he will do is rescind the "Lifetime Achievement Award" that the San Mateo Board of Supervisors gave to Ayres before he was arrested.

Stogner has also been an outspoken critic of the corruption in the San Mateo District Attorney's office and the San Mateo Sheriff's office.

Readers will recall the enormous amount of criticism here concerning misconduct by Ayres prosecutor Melissa Mckowan. Now the Innocence Project in Northern California has cited another prosecutor in San Mateo DA Steve Wagstaffe's office named Al Giannini in at least three cases for egregious prosecutorial misconduct. http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_17864595?source=most_emailed

Excerpt from story in Mercury News,"Report Finds Prosecutorial Misconduct in Bay Area."

But critics, including some prosecutors named in the study, claim the Innocence Project fails to carefully research the cases in its haste to skewer deputy district attorneys.

"Like Holocaust deniers and people who believe we never went to the moon, they have an agenda, and no fact is ever going to get in their way,'' said San Mateo County prosecutor Alfred Giannini, who the study describes as a "multiple offender.''
Giannini was cited last year for misconduct in a murder trial that led to the conviction being set aside, according to the study. It was the third case in which courts have found his conduct has led to a reversal or mistrial since 1999.

____

Hmmm....Mckowan; Giannini; and now San Mateo District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe is being investigated by the FBI.....

Can we do a recall?

  • #554
Don't you just love how he compares the Innocence Project to Holocaust deniers? What a piece of crap.

I don't understand. How can a prosecutor lie about evidence that was obviously not turned over to the defense, let a key witness knowingly lie on the stand to get the conviction, and then just go about business as usual? What is wrong with this system? He should be disbarred.

  • #557
Ohiogirl: Thanks for your posts. Giannini should be disbarred. And his boss, DA Steve Wagstaffe should be recalled AND disbarred for covering up misconduct by prosecutors like Giannini and Ayres prosecutor Mckowan.

As I said, the press has reported that the FBI is investigating Wagstaffe for covering up misconduct by many San Mateo County employees - not just prosecutors. We're crossing our fingers that there will be an indictment.

Is there an epidemic of pedophile doctors in the Bay Area of California? There are two new cases of doctors molesting boys in the Bay Area- where Dr. Ayres also practiced.

UC Berkeley doctor charged with molesting male patients

By Kristin J. Bender
Updated: 04/29/2011 06:12:56 AM PDT

OAKLAND -- A doctor who worked at UC Berkeley's health center for more than two decades has been charged with sexually assaulting at least six male patients during examinations and university officials believe more victims could come forward.
Dr. Robert Kevess, 52, of Oakland, was charged late Wednes-day with 19 felony counts, including eight counts of sexual exploitation of multiple patients, seven counts of sexual battery with false professional purpose and four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object. Prosecutors say the offenses occurred between March 2006 and this March.
Kevess confirmed the allegations of sexual misconduct to police officers investigating the case, saying he touched intimate parts of patients and penetrated them with objects, including his fingers, under the guise of performing medical procedures, court records state.

____________________
Also, pediatrician Dr. Patrick Clyne was fired from his job after boys came forward to say he had molested them.

Thank you for alerting us, Mercyneal, concerning these other doctors. I started a thread for Patrick Clyne in the Spotlight on Children section. To tell you the truth, I don't know what to think about him. But I believe that the parents and children of Santa Clara County deserve a thorough investigation into the allegations against this man. He's had access to a remarkable number of vulnerable children during his tenure. It's not fair to anyone to leave the suspicion just "hanging in the air".

I'll check out Dr. Kevess. He might have earned himself a thread.
