Ok (I'm not sure if it was you that said this...I cant remember) but I am going on zero sleep so I am also apologizing if whatever I type sounds like incoherent nonsense...[emoji43]

My thoughts on the possible dead car battery...only because I have actually car killed my battery in similar ways...

The dead battey issue could have possibly resulted from the keys being left in the ignition (possibly to keep the interior light on), the door open, to charge her phone or, any combination of factors...all possibly leading to the theory that she possibly got out of the car, with every intention of getting back inside very quickly...

OR..

She had car trouble...

In the missing poster above it says the key we're found in ignition, lights on, and car battery dead.

Wondering if that's headlights or interior lights?

Forgive me if others already posed these questions.

What I wish we knew regarding the car:
Did the bloodhounds find no scent of her at all to track at the PCH Hwy scene where Elaine's car was found?
Did they also use a cadaver dog in the car's trunk?
Were they able to extract any fingerprints off the key, steering wheel or door handles of the car?
Elaine's mother said in the Nancy Grace podcast that Elaine purchased gas near her home on Friday afternoon (mother stated it was the last transaction). So, how much gas was remaining in the car when it was found? Maybe it could give a clue as to how much the car was driven knowing the car had a full tank Fri afternoon.

Also, Glendale police provided the mother with the uber car with the clear exit as it rounds the bend away from the home, but not Elaine after she leaves solo. Wonder why that is? Why didn't the police share that portion of the video with the mother?

I don't know what to make of this case but it's been weighing heavy on my heart.
Sorry I can't link because I'm not at my PC but the interview her mother gave to Alan Ng podcast was heart breaking. I can't help but to feel awful for her mother. In the podcast, she said that she tried to raise Elaine in a certain way because of her culture and because of that upbringing Elaine may have felt unloved. ( I'm paraphrasing)
That was so heartbreaking to me because I felt like the mom may be blaming herself and probably holds a lot of guilt. I just wanted to reach out and give her a hug and tell her that this isn't her fault. Nobody is perfect and kids don't come with manuals! It's especially hard when we're brought up in a different culture than our friends and neighbors. I really feel for this mom. I hope Elaine is found so this mother has closure.

I also wanted to end- the mom should be commended here also because she's trying her best to make people aware of her daughters disappearance. She went and spoke on the podcast, has steadily kept up with the FB page, and so on. That's a lot more then others have done! She seems 200% genuine to me and I believe she's a reliable source and is truly heartbroken over this.

Rachel, it is truly heart breaking, I agree. And she's desperate so might be making decisions that we find confusing. I hope Elaine just took a break away for a bit and calls home soon.

I
Hope so but doubt it: (
I personally believe she met with foul play in some form or another or harmed herself.
For some reason the mothers plea really got to me. I felt that she may be feeling very guilty for her parenting style, I just really wanted to reach out and hug her and tell her that this isn't her fault at all. I had to stop that podcast and restart it several times because it caused me to cry. ( I usually can discuss these things with little to no emotion and can usually separate myself from it ) it must be just gut wrenching to go through this for her mom.
I don't think Elaine just walked off willingly to start a new life because the phone and car and purse where left. Surely if I where going to go start a new life, I'd at least take my personal possessions. So sadly, imo I think something terrible has happened to her. I really hope I'm Wrong though.

I'm not sure if this has been said...but I find it awfully strange that in this video clip of Elaine's mom watching the security footage (at the 1:00 mark) - the footage does NOT show blinking lights to the left of Elaine leaving.

However, in the video posted on the FB of all the cctv footage it is very clear that there are blinking lights to left of Elaine as she rounds what appears to be a car, followed by the blinking lights seen in the distance. One of these clips appears to be edited??

I also think the videos have been edited somehow.

It's hard not to think someone is hiding something when videos are edited.

Where's the video clip of Elaine's mom watching the security footage? An earlier Facebook post?

I hope so too. But why risk your car and all personal possessions to be stolen? Doesn't seem plausible. This evidence leads me to believe she met foul play OR decided to leave her life permanently (self harm or runaway). But I think she cared too deeply for her friends to do that.

All JMO, please come home safely Elaine. :heartbeat:

1) We have witnessed staged disappearances before here in WS.

Elaine was noted as having depression issues, and everyone in her life stated some sort of mental state or change recently. I will assume these were all likely due to the multiple negative and disappointing things she had been going through lately.

Her car was likely not there from Saturday through Thursday, so someone dumped it. Either Elaine herself or whoever knows where she is.

2) Indeed there are a lot of questions about the video of her leaving that night. The mere fact that the entire, unedited video has not been released doesn't mean the homeowners are involved. Maybe LE is purposefully withholding some information. But, they absolutely should not do that with family members. The thing is, we don't know what the mother knows.

But, if that video was edited and they are refusing to hand over the full contents, then it is grounds to assume they are hiding something. If it was me and I had nothing to hide, I'd provide the video of every minute for the time she was seen walking out and up through today!

What's really going on here?

Great observation! However, I do see on the abc7 video that there is a time stamp with the footage the mother is seen viewing, and it says 17/01/28 01:19:10. And the skyline is darker than the one shown on the Help Find page. It's definitely a different time showing her go out alone. 1:19, would that have been after they returned from the movies via uber? I can't find it right now, but wasn't it around that time they got back from the movies? Maybe she was going to her car to get her duffle bag or something at that time.

The duffle bag brings up some additional thoughts from me. Elaine's mother mentions the duffle bag and her makeup as things she noted to the police when they asked her if anything was missing. She noted earlier in the podcast that Elaine sometimes did pack her bags and makeup and go away for a couple of days or so without telling her. So, that tells me that Elaine was intending to stay over somewhere and not come home. Was it the bf's or somewhere else?

Also from that podcast, the mother explains some system of money borrowing she and Elaine did. "Quick Pay", I think she says? Does that mean they would electronically transfer money to each other's accounts? Because she then also mentions that Elaine was supposed to get spending money from her dad that Fri night "around 6:00". Does she mean electronically, or in person? If she received the money electronically, then what could be reasons she did not transfer the $20 to her mother right away as it sounds like she usually did. It sounds like the mother expected soon after 6:00 her daughter would pay her back, but she didn't, so at 7:00 the mother texted her about paying her back. It wasn't until 9:00 that she got a reply from Elaine saying to give her more time. It could mean nothing, though,--just a young person being self-centered in regards with her mother (hey, been there, done that).
