Yep it's a shame when big money gets in the way of justice sometimes.
I'm not saying the bf had anything to do with it at all but still- if my sons friend went missing and I was wealthy, there wouldn't be anything that could stop me from helping. I would pay the best pi and all. Of course that would be only if I had nothing to hide.

We haven't spent years trying to protect our names. Maybe this is just yet another episode of ... more of the same. We would probably do things differently because we don't have a lifelong experience of being bamboozled, or fighting to not be taken down. It seems to me that in this case, no press would be better than bad press for any family who clearly values privacy in a world of paparazzi. I can kind of understand the approach. It's pretty hard to judge a would-be famous person's behavior from here in that I have zero experience in that world. Thankfully.

However, I also still think I would do it quite differently.

“I think it’s too late now,” Park said after the news conference. “I feel like because it’s the 33rd day I feel like we’ve wasted time. The only thing left is to just spread the word and do an on-foot search around the last person who saw her, which is in Calabasas and the hiking area of Corral Canyon.”

This poor mother.
:tantrum:

I truly feel awful for the mother

There was a body found ( check Maricela Garcia thread) and it's said to be female.
I'm wondering if it's Maricela or Elaine???
Thoughts??

  • #268
You never know what to hope for when there's a body bound. That's someone's baby.

The body found is 28 minutes from where Maricela was last seen. And 45 minutes from where Elaine was last seen. And hour from where Elaine's car was found.

New article: 'There's definitely foul play': Mother of missing La Crescenta woman presses police to do more

http://www.latimes.com/socal/glendale-news-press/news/tn-gnp-me-park-conference-20170307-story.html

Susan Park is blaming BF for her daughter's disappearing and blaming LE for not looking deeper into the BF.

I also want to note that comments were removed from the story...

"FOR THE RECORD3/8, 5:09 p.m.: A previous version of this story included accusatory comments made by the missing woman's mother. Those comments have been removed."

I can't blame this mother for being upset. I'd be upset also.

You also can't point fingers at someone without any evidence. There isn't even circumstantial evidence, unless that information is being withheld.

  • #272
Yeah I know that but can't help but feel for her. Maybe she does know more then we know and may have reason to believe that he's involved. But I just feel like she's desperate to find her daughter and feelings may be just overflowing at this point. I'd probably point fingers too if I where in that situation , sometimes raw emotion is displaced but it doesn't change the fact that she's hurting. At least the portions of the story where retracted and maybe it'll cause the family to reach out to her directly. If it where I , no lawyer would be able to stop me from contacting her and offering my help ( hypothetically speaking of course)

I think the fact that he was the last person to see her and the fact that the last place she was physically seen has not been searched could constitute as circumstantial evidence.

Operative word being circumstantial.

Any new updates, leads, theories? Let's keep this page alive

I'd have to agree with you...

Still waiting for video from the BF's house, showing Elaine getting in her car and driving away at 6:05. There is no way I'm just going to assume Elaine left the house just because there is footage of her walking towards her car. Just show me video of her driving off the property, time-stamped sometime between 6:05 and 6:14, and I will be much less suspicious -if at all- of the BF and his family (nothing complicated, IMO, and yes, I realize they didn't have to supply any video at all, but ... if whatever footage they've given to LE and Elaine's mom does not actually show Elaine leave, really, then they aren't really helping). In fact, this is the only thing that makes me suspicious of the BF: That -supposedly- the recording stops inexplicably at 6:05 before Elaine drives away. Outside of this, I lean towards Elaine taking her own life ... :(.

I honestly don't think anything else will be forthcoming unless there's a campaign started somewhere that just "doesn't go away". The elements of 'fighting a big machine' are present and ominous here. Local LE probably have their own reasons for suspending further search efforts, and any players involved here know that this is a storm that will pass. Because it's been proven time and again that people are short-minded, and a new hot topic will take this ones place soon enough. Just gotta wait it out, iykwim.

Wow! Any news?
None yet that I've found. But here's a screen grab of the area from google earth. Someone could roll up there in the middle of the night and quietly put anything over the side. ugh
