.@[redacted] Wayne Graham said they got tip 9-MO-old baby w seizures had been turned into Ore hospital. Fam frustrated LE didn't folo up=============================================================

I doubt very much that LE didn't check out this tip. It would be very easy for them to do so. There is no reason that MG had to carjack someone and go there himself.

If that baby had been Ember the hospital would have known that very quickly.

Yeah, I'm calling stinky, smelly bs on this. For that matter since WG is so gung ho on MG's innocence and so po'd at LE for not being thorough enough then why didn't he just go to Oregon with MG to check it out? There's a big chunk of information missing from this story.

MG learns that a pacifier similar to Ember's is found near Ono, then immediately steals cash, phone and gun from his mother's purse and heads to Oregon - on foot - to follow up a possible lead that a 9-month old baby is having seizures in a hospital up there. Yeah, right.

You mean like Cindy's initial call to LE about her car smelling like a dead body putting the wheels in motion?

I'm flabbergasted that this family reported a gun and money stolen and now wants to claim MG was just following up on a tip. This is just getting more bizarre as it goes.

JMO

Nothing specific, just the denial and improbable stories. I'm having a hard time with WG's comments which seem to indicate rules/laws don't apply to MG. MG's behavior was anything but normal, yet WG appears A-OK with it as if it is actually normal everyday behavior.

ETA: Even the comment about Ember needing to be fed every two hours at 6-7 months old stood out to me.

Here's the link again

Thanks! And here's the transcript of the part about Oregon which I posted upthread:

Reporter: They tell me Matthew's behavior over the last couple of days has been strange but they say he's been very stressed and upset over Ember's disappearance. They tell me Matthew fled from LE because he was following up on a possible lead in Oregon. They say he took a gun to protect himself, not harm anyone, and to this very moment they say there's no way Matthew's involved in Ember's disappearance; he simply loves Ember with all of his heart.

WG: Like I said, anybody at all that'd been around him and her together, they would know there's nothing Matthew could do to harm that child. Love, support, everything else, you couldn't ask for a better dad.

Madison Wade also said she'll have more from the interview at 6:30 tonight. She said “...as they share with me their message to Matthew, whether he's dead or alive. A message they want him to hear in hopes it will bring back baby Ember home soon.” Whatever that means.

Cops need to learn where both families buried their pets.

Family is trying too hard to present him in a positive light...and coming off sounding foolish and/or in "cahoots", Imo.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. If my grand baby was missing and I heard there was a possibility that she was in a hospital in Oregon, I would be on my way there immediately.

But we all know that LE would have checked it out if there was an unidentified baby girl having seizures in a hospital. First of all, a hospital does not let a child go unidentified for very long. If that was Ember the hospital would have figured that out, imo.

IIRC, only WG is speaking. I'm not going to make the assumption he speaks for everyone, only for himself. I can't assume the rest of the family really believes the excuses he is giving the public.

Reminds me of another family that is doing similar.

You couldn't ask for a better Dad? His tiny infant, who had serious medical issues, was put in a playpen, behind a broken door that needed to be opened by a screwdriver, and he proceeded to get totally messed up on wax, and passed out for the night.

That's the best Dad ever? :waitasec:

Found the other thing I was looking for. From one of reporter Jenny Espino's tweets:
https://twitter.com/jennyespino_RS/status/618122883987079168

Two older ladies in a motorized cart at a 99-cent store in Chico. He felt that LE wasn't following up on this particular tip.

What I'm seeing here is a pattern of the family not believing/trusting that LE is following up on all possibilities, so they took matters into their own hands in some cases. Not saying it's right, but sure seems to be a pattern. I can see them also believing that MG was following up on a tip because LE wasn't doing enough in their eyes.

Well...Noah's mom was "best mom ever"...so.

Right... Make that TWO families recently.

Like I said elsewhere, it always makes me think of "I think the lady doth protest too much."

If I am breaking any rules about SM please delete but I believe we can comment on FB posts if it's the POI and public.

I am not sure how much of MG’s FB pages you have all read. Until last night, I had just skimmed through. For some reason, I felt compelled to know some more background and went thru many if not all of the posts (late night last night). Before I comment, I will again reiterate my belief that FB is a poor way to make judgments because many people want to present themselves in a positive “happy” light. Not all posts may be public so you don’t get the entire picture.

I see that MG had stretches of time where he seemed to be struggling with pain or relationships. During the “up” times – everything seemed over-the-top-happy but then the mood broke the “downs” appeared. Like of all us, he had ups/downs but I got the sense they were extreme. I saw the cycle and there would be 2-3 month stretches were there were no posts (unless private maybe). I can’t imagine how someone who invested her love and dreams into this cycle would feel. (I did compare timeframes and saw what JG posted but won’t touch that here).
The drama was what seemed to fuel the past relationships. The ex’s became “crazy’ and he had to leave and found love again. Here is my timeline if you are so inclined to read and reference the posts on MG page. I think this death was not planned and spur of the moment (accident/anger?) and he couldn't find a way to escape from what he did so he tried to cover it up. I am not an expert on depression, pain, addiction or any other disorder but I think all of these factored into yesterday's results along with poor coping/judgment. No excuses though.

Link and summary are below. Please excuse my rough notes I didn't have time to create a well written journal.
I did find it interesting that his ex (Alicia started a public page for Embers family. I believe it is okay to post as it is public. (https://www.facebook.com/PrayersforEmber?fref=ts)

MG Page: https://www.facebook.com/matthew.graham.71697

October 2014 – Hit rock bottom ….but things looking up. New job(s). Lost their home somehow but looking for new one. Pain starts again (October 9th and 10th) (October 20th looking up.
Baby shower – 18th
October 2014 – November - off the radar.
December 2014 – Ember is born. Pic
January - March 2015 – positive nothing to note
April – rant – little mention of Ember
May – July – very little posts – just pictures of reunited couple.

To me, the cycling sounds like bi-polar mania. Please no one misconstrue what I am saying as saying all bi-polar people are murderers because I most certainly am not and if i was, i would be saying it about myself too as bipolar is one of my many diagnosises. All I am saying is that cycling moods could indicate that.

Interestingly, the (longer) clip we are looking for the apparently isn't available due to sound quality issues.
MW states "the audio was really messed up because I was rushed and it didn't sync properly"

So, unless the person who recorded last night's 630PM broadcast uploads it to youtube (and posts it here with the proper link back to KCRC7) we are SOL. :sigh:

(I tried!)

Reminder, Ember's mom is not a named POI or suspect in the case. She has lost her husband and her daughter is missing under unusual circumstances.

Her world has been turned upside down. Unless or until LE indicates she is something less than a victim in this case please treat her as such. Thanks, tlcya

None of these PCs seem to have been broadcast live. We have to rely on reporter's tweets and after-the-fact video I suppose.

Yesterday I was able to watch live. Not today, it seems! Ugh...

OK I am not naive & I don't always want to believe the best in people because humans are unpredictable creatures. Oh and I previously worked in LE (Intelligence dept). BUT, I am still not 100% sure MG did anything to Ember... I can't help but wonder if there any remote chance he was actually going somewhere because he knew someone had her. It was one of my suggested scenarios when we first heard that he had obtained a weapon. Plus the fact he wouldn't "surrender" to police means either he's guilty & thick and didn't believe they would kill him OR he was so sure of his innocence he didn't want to be arrested and not get to where he was intending to go.

Damnit, he's dead, yet there are still no answers. This one will bug me until we find out!
