I do wonder if their next move was going to be pleading for a fundraiser to help find their “kidnapped” child. You know, the “Missing Kid.”

Yes, conveniently changed to " kidnapped child " as opposed to "Missing kid"

I agree. Domestic violence victims of this level of implied severity have a defeated, low self-esteem air about them. She doesn't, not in the picture from this link: https://ktla.com/news/local-news/ca...been-killed-9-days-before-alleged-kidnapping/

I beg to differ. She looked absolutely defeated and scared in the court appearance today. I truely believe he told her they wouldn’t get caught or tried because he got away with the last child. I hope I’m not wrong but I def saw real emotion in her at the hearing today
Knowing who or what she was looking at would be helpful. I see a defiance in her eyes. If she was looking at Jake well it could have been something else completely. JMO

The California parents accused of falsely claiming that their 7-month-old son was kidnapped from a store parking lot were charged Tuesday with murder.

Rebecca Renee Haro, 41, and Jake Mitchell Haro, 32, were arraigned at a Riverside County court on charges of murder and making a false police report, court records show.

They are being held on a $1 million bail, and their attorney could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday...

Chances are they both end up going protective custody because of how high profile this case has become
IMO they have no place that will be safe now. The community is hot, as are we and rightfully so. If, big if, they manage to make bail, out of incarceration would not be safe for them. I have heard prisoners don't like those that commit these types of crime. Lots of watching their back for those two. JMO

I'm not even sure what to say about this. Are they that slow that they would actually think this wouldn't come out eventually? Or were they that confident or arrogant that they would think imthis whole kidnapping story would work? At least we know why they chose this place to say where it "happened" at
He got away with a slap on the wrist before. I guess he figured the odds were still in his favor.

Death penalty or not, as long as they are both locked up for life and can never breed again
He got away with a slap on the wrist before. I guess he figured the odds were still in his favor.
Boy is he in for a surprise! IMO

Maybe. Everything can be.

Who knows? Maybe arrogant. Or too many screens, games, death games. Today you kill, and tomorrow on the screens everyone is alive again. For some people, life happens on screens.

Before today's hearing I had heard that it would be a 1 million cash bond so there was no possibility that one or both of them could get out on bond with the usual 10%.

The cash part is what I was looking for in relation to their 1 million bond which was said by the lawyer who spoke to be what it is for 1st degree murder.
He sounded like it was the standard amount.
We know their lawyers will try, then try again, to get the amount lowered.

If it stays at the 1 million I doubt even their family/ supporters would risk their money/homes etc by putting up $100,000 or by combining their resources.
imo

I doubt anyone in this family has that kind of resources, and if they did, would put it up for these folks.

What really surprised me about the death of "James Alex Hurley" in West Yellowstone, MT, was the casual way his grandmother, Patricia Batts, called the police to haul away the body.

Like her grandson, was a dead rat, or something. The family had dehumanized Alex so much, they didn't think anyone would care about his dead body in their living room. Patricia Batts, and her husband, are now in prison for life.

Is there a press conference today? And has it been held yet? Anyone know? TIA.

Sounds like premeditation to me.

In an entire family of grifters, where we learned from MSM that Jake alone filed six Workmen’s Comp claims, they seem to me to be well-practiced at spinning tales to get what they want.

So it appears that they were setting up another con job, only this one was a plot to dispose of their baby. Too stupid and too evil to realize that when you allege your baby was kidnapped in a public place, you’re going to get a whole lot more scrutiny than they apparently received from their other con jobs.

I now have zero sympathy for her if she was ever a victim of JH. She could have walked into a police station or a hospital to get help for herself and her children, but her choice was to go to the store to check out the security system and lay the groundwork for this absurd and hideous kidnapping tale.

I do wonder if their next move was going to be pleading for a fundraiser to help find their “kidnapped” child. You know, the “Missing Kid.”

ETA: I’d be curious to know if RH filed a police report on this alleged burglary of her car in that parking lot. I would be astounded if she did.

Agree. He has a history of violently abusing small children and blaming it on the women, what did she think would happen if their awful little scheme went sideways? Of course she’s left holding the bag with the more severe charge.

Not that she’s blameless, but I think he was the one who abused and murdered Emmanuel and she was the willing accomplice.

They both deserve first degree murder charges.

As far as the prosecutor is concerned I’m glad for his sake it that was clarified. It’s the prosecutor’s job to determine if there is a case for a potential trial and if there is to present the case. It’s the defense’s attorney’s job to poke holes in it to make sure the state is doing its job properly. The jury decides guilt or innocence and the judge decides the sentence.

The pathetic sentence of the prior case is on that judge.

I agree @KBlackRabbit It would not surprise me if a deal is made for her to find baby E. They could treat her as the lesser of 2 evils ( I don't agree but this could happen. IMO)

I don't have many doubts about it.

Press conference, with AUDIO.

SBSD thanks public for their interest, particularly when the story first broke and the parents made in initial statements to the press. Once we saw those inconsistencies we began what would be hundreds of hours of investigation.
