The DA said that the sentencing judge in 2023 was a visiting judge from San Bernardino County. He didn't give his name.

The presser said, Emmanuel was abused for a long time. My heart breaks for that little boy.

Did anyone here post the court documents? Judge's name should be on them.
IMO.

Bath time, reading books, hugs, kisses or smiles? Monsters! They are biding their time so the autopsy will never tell the tale. I have a hard time the mom is telling the truth. She shed not a tear over her missing baby. Can someone confirm or deny that the previous child who most recently suffered at JH’s hands is not also the child of this lady?

I agree - I'm shedding tears over kids in the news today that aren't mine!

My takes from the press conference.

Don't listen the the irresponsible social media crazies.

Jake did NOT confess. I already did not believe that, given the sources.

IMO the DA looks like the younger, more serious, younger brother of Matt Frewer.

Sheriff: there was a call for service to eth residence generated by Jake that we investigated concerning the child abuse case. That is all I can give you on that.

Sorry, I can't watch the presser because I have a bunch of tiny ears around--did he specifically say that Jake called to report abuse? I'm wondering if Jake might have called about something else and while whoever answered was there they observed something that made them (the responder) report abuse?

Not a DP case due to no special circumstances.
NOT INTERESTED IN A PLEA DEAL.
They want a trial.
Good.
Where are they going to find jury members who are able to be unbiased?

It is beyond frustrating that the search for Emmanuel's remains is such an uphill battle... no camera footage, no idea what is true... and the timeline is shaky. I remember when they were able to cordon off parts of the landfill to find little Quinton Simon. That was SO sad but so touching (special agents carried his remains in a box wrapped with tue flag.) 🥺

Emmanuel was said to be beaten over time, which is why both parents are charged. Let's hope LE has all the receipts to back this up.

This ,"visiting judge" needs to be named, shamed, and let go!

The stress at that presser was so palpable. The guy "losing sleep" & wanting to do his own search definitely ruffled feathers. Hoping LE can include the publics help when they find it appropriate.

I wonder what makes them sure he was abused over time.
Heartbreaking to hear that.

Judge Jorge Hernandez of Riverside County is the judge in question, I believe.
IMO.

I also thought that he was the judge (based on comments I have read,) but he is from Riverside County, and the DA definitely said that the sentencing judge was a visiting judge from San Bernardino County.

Death Penalty
Thanks that is obvious to me now but in my head I was thinking deferred prosecution and couldn't fathom why that was even mentioned.

Well, dang, I need to find those court documents, then. I'm fully invested and want to send him an email or three.
IMO.

Comment about the visiting judge reported by KTLA.

During the morning news conference, Riverside County District Attorney Michael Hestrin said they “have a pretty strong indication of where the remains of baby Emmanuel are,” and went after the judge in Jake Haro’s 2023 child abuse case for not sending him to prison.

“What we wanted out of the case was prison. We believed it was a prison case and that Jake Haro should have gone to prison. Jake Haro pled straight up to the court … In this case, a judge here in Riverside County, who happened to have been a visiting judge from San Bernardino County, gave Mr. Haro a suspended sentence,” Hestrin said.
*****
Hestrin said the judge essentially chose to give Jake Haro probation, which he described as an “outrageous” error in judgment. “I don’t have a problem saying that,” Hestrin said. “If that judge had done his job, which he should have done, Emmanuel would be alive today.”

RSBM

I wouldn't be surprised to learn the same guy losing sleep is part of the YT/TT crowd he was talking about. All they do is report bogus rumors to drive up their views. It's pretty disgusting really, how they exploit crime victims for building a platform.

BBM.

Anger about the ludicrously low sentence given to JH for previous infant abuse is both just and justified. Given the timelines here, had that judge done his job, this toxic duo might never have had the chance to conceive new victims to abuse to death in the first place.

I will never ever understand these crimes, and make yet another promise to myself to never again follow one.
