What has been shown to support this at this point?
JMO but I think people are just comparing what she looked like a few years ago to now. She looks like she really let herself go.

I can’t speak for Emmanuel, but if my only chance at life was being born into that family with the same outcome, I’ll take a pass on being conceived, thanks. Just leave me to the cosmos.
I agree. Poor baby conceived because his Dad was not Incarcerated as should have been the case. And to wind up like this? A very bad fate to be dealt. :(

Here we go -- the 2023 sentencing judge was Dwight Moore. Many thanks to Steve Fischer for posting the court documents.

This is from the register of actions in Jake Haro 's case for horrific 2018 child abuse charges. A mandatory settlement conference was scheduled for 6/8/2023 and on that date Jake changed his plea to guilty. Judge Dwight Moore presided that day and sentenced Jake directly (bypassing the DA) to 180 days of work release and a few years of probation. This was the sentence for pleading guilty to leaving a 10 week old baby permanently disabled from beating her so badly. The Riverside County DA's Office objected to this sentence and put the objection on the record. The Judge went forward with the light sentence anyway. The DA's Office refused to sign the sentencing document.

What do you think motivated this judge?

No clue. It would be interesting to find out what his thought process for that decision was though. JMO

Emmanuel probably wouldn't have been born if Jake was in prison?

Emmanuel would not have been born of course, if JH had served time. We all know the facts of life, and only that single sperm and that month’s egg could have produced Emmanuel.

But JH would have gotten out at some time, and likely would’ve just continued on his life’s chosen path of making, then destroying, his babies.

We’d have the same thread here but with a different baby name.

ETA @LadyL
Yes, I suppose a conjugal visit at just the right time could have created Emmanuel.

But I would hope that a man imprisoned for child cruelty would not be granted conjugal visits by a judge who was actually paying attention.

They said he was retired and was helping out, right? And before he retired, he was pretty strict?
I'm assuming if he's retired, then he must be older. And for him to pass a judgment out of character from his previous career... it makes me wonder if he might not have had undiagnosed dementia.
Obviously, I have no way of knowing this and am in no way a medical professional. I'm just trying to think of how a judge could make such a horrendous error in... well, judgment.

Jake says, "I am the victim, I am the victim, I am the victim." Turns around 3 times, clicks his heels together and "poof" he is still a narcissist.

Was he retired at the time of the decision or has he retired since?

‘Missing kid’ and him referring to a ‘dipey’ were reason for pause.

If only a house had fallen on him...

Judge Dwight Moore, San Bernardino County, retired in 2022. He (unfortunately) had a temporary assignment in Riverside County in 2023.
Strangely, he was apparently known to be a strong law & order judge during his time on the bench in San Bernardino.

Unalienable Rights shared that he retired in 2022, but was on temp assignment in 2023 when JH was being tried.

She had a two year old and Emmanuel was 7 months old. Back to back pregnancies and she’s 41. Don’t get me wrong I’m not in her corner, but any woman might be a little tired and hadn’t lost the baby weight yet, IMO.

She's not a in your thirties with a twenty something boyfriend anymore. She's forty one years old with two kids in a row , overweight ( hopefully starting menopause soon ) she's let her hair go for at least a year in cut and color so she to her those maybe some of the reasons to beat or abuse your little boy? Life was easier with just one child and now a second one. Emmanuel didn't seem to have any nutritional problems in the photos that we've seen, other than bruises he looks healthy and well fed. I wonder if he was a fussy baby and that added more stress to the already overloaded family?

At a court hearing on June 8, 2023, Superior Court Judge Dwight W. Moore suspended Jake Haro’s 6-year prison sentence and granted probation instead.

“I’m giving you a chance,” said Judge Moore. “Don’t mess it up. Good luck.”

It appeared from his comments at the time that Moore thought the threat of prison for any probation violations would be a deterrent for any further wrongdoing.

*****
At the 2023 hearing, Deputy District Attorney Sam Taloa took issue with the lenient sentence.

“Your Honor, I would just ask for the record to reflect that the People are objecting to this,” said Taloa. “This is based on the severity of the injuries, as we discussed, to the victim.”

“We have hung a very large hammer over the defendant’s head,” he said, according to a transcript obtained by the Long Beach Post.

*****
On Wednesday, Judge Moore told the Long Beach Post that ethical rules prevent him from explaining why he granted probation to Jake Haro.

“I’m absolutely precluded from commenting publicly about the case,” said Judge Moore, who acknowledged that the controversy caught him by surprise. “In 18 years, this is the first time I’ve been taken to task in this manner about a decision I’ve made.”

Judge Moore, who spent 26 years in the San Bernardino County DA’s office before being appointed to the bench in 2007 by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, retired from full-time service in 2021 but has continued to handle temporary judicial assignments.

Well probably the first time because your decision has resulted in a dead baby

According to Hestrin, Jake and his ex-wife abused their infant child to the point where the child is now permanently bedridden. He provided a list of injuries caused by the abuse, including broken ribs, healing fractures, a partial skull fracture and a broken leg.

People who keep writing about JH shaking Emmanuel, please read that horrifying list. Let's call the things by their proper name: this man had a habit of beating infants into the pulp. Broken bones and cracked skull are not a result of shaking. This poor girl was beaten multiple times, nearly to death. There is no reason or evidence to believe it was any different with Emmanuel. This man, JH, beats infants.
