Grr. Another plea deal. I hate this, will they get a short prison sentence? Probation? Community service and parenting classes? Makes me mad. They both better get put behind bars for a heck of a long time!!

I hope the couple will have a falling out and one will start talking.

Today Jake Haro's attorney’s filed to push back the felony settlement conference and even though Rebecca Haro's Attorney objected, the judge granted that request. The new date for the felony settlement conference will be on October 16th and the start of the preliminary hearings will be on October 28th. Which will be where the judge determines if there is enough evidence, or "probable cause," to believe a crime was committed.
So what’s driving Jake’s attorney to push the settlement date and Rebecca’s attorney to object? What does that potentially indicate?

I wonder if one or both want to sever their cases and then blame the other for the murder at trial? just a guess.

I agree, that’s the only plea I could see happening though.

Personally I’d rather see them rot in prison never being able to hurt another child than find Emmanuel’s body if that was the plea consideration. I know that’s hard to consider
I agree with this -- given that there is a pattern of potentially fatal violence towards children, I don't think this is a situation where a plea deal based on remorse/cooperation makes sense.

iirc the prosecutor announced that they wouldn’t be offering a plea deal…

found it, it says they hadn’t offered a plea and want a trial, but the situation may have evolved at this point

From USA today:

"Prosecutors are not pursuing the death penalty against Jake and Rebecca Haro in this case, and they didn't present the couple with plea bargains, Hestrin said.

We're interested in a trial and getting to justice," Hestrin said.

Fine by me, just lock them with the general population so they can taste their own medicine. In daily doses.

The DA heavily and publicly criticized the Judge who let Haro skate in the last abuse case. There is zero chance Jake will get a plea deal here, unless it’s LWOP - what would be the point? I also don’t see the Judge allowing a severance.

Does anyone think they are actively searching? Usually in high profile cases like this, the media is able to snuff them out, but there’s been nothing.

Very good question, Knox.

I think they are still investigating, which would involve looking when they have a lead. The prosecution will be much easier WITH a body so I do think LE is still looking. (Yes, we know convictions can happen without a body.)

But, the story isn't headline news anymore and I think LE is getting a break from media coverage.

I've not heard or read anything new locally recently. Social media was on it and fuming. It's been crickets. If the local rumor mill isn't running, it must be truly quiet! ;-)

Our area has turned it's attention to the Celeste Rivas Hernandez/D4vd story. Her hometown is very close.

Let us not forget baby Emmanuel. Prayers for this sweet baby boy🙏

There's been nothing as far as active searches that I've seen on SM.
Makes me very sad. Remember how long and how hard searchers worked to find Quintin?
We need the same energy for Emmanuel, too.
IMO.

True about poor little Quinton, but LE knew pretty quickly about Leilani’s dumpster visit. So the landfill search was a given.

The DA said they think they know where Emmanuel is. JMO, but I think he may have been disposed in the same way. I guess we wait for the hearings to find that answer. But it may be occurring behind the scenes and we don’t know, so I’m not ready to say there is no energy in the quest to find him.

I sure hope so. It's just so heartbreaking, and I'm beyond angry at these "parents".

Amiah Robertson was another one like Quintin, too. :(
